  1. I have Taiwan Touyuan and Puerto Vallarta and really like them both.
  2. Hello, folks. I've been having a color banding issue for quite some time now. The banding is especially noticeable at night with cockpit lights and ground flood lights. I use P3Dv3.4. Right now I am using a GTX 770 and a Viewsonic 27 inch monitor set to 1080p. Could this be a graphics card issue, driver issue, or just a crappy monitor? Is there a way to get rid of this banding? Regards, Todd
  3. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU in the next couple of months from my GTX 770 4GB to a GTX 1070 ACX 8GB and am wondering if it is worth upgrading. My budget is $500 USD or less. My current computer specs: I7 3770K OC 4.5 GHz (hyperthreading off) 8 GB RAM 750W power supply 250 GB SSD - Windows 7 64 bit 500 GB SSD - P3Dv3.4 and add-ons Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler I am running P3Dv3.4, Active Sky Next weather with REX soft clouds, Track IR Scenery - FTX OpenLC USA with UTXv2, multiple airport add-ons, AlG AI traffic Aircraft - mainly PMDG 737 and 777, Aerosoft Airbus, A2A C182, RealAir Turbine Duke, Flight 1 GTN 750/650 I don't want to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading. If it will make a difference then I will do it. If I have to upgrade CPU and other components to make it worthwhile then I'm going to hold off. Thanks!
  4. I don't have the older version that was working. Probably should have kept it. Lesson learned.
  5. Digging up an old thread, I know (busy life with 3 youngsters). I already know about the double entries and strictly watch those. The issue has never resolved for me until I uninstalled FS2Crew. Maybe I just can't use it on my system. Oh well...
  6. Yes, you do have to reinstall. No, you do not have to repurchase. All Orbx installers are good for all sim platforms.
  7. Depends on how you define tedious. I use Alpha India Group flight plans. And there are many FSX/P3D AI models that are quite exceptional (FAIB, for example). The free AI Flight Planner Utility makes installing these flight plan packages a breeze. And it's free.
  8. Bryan, Sorry, I didn't bail on this thread. I just moved and we are still unpacking. I still need to set up my computer. I'll try a flight once I get it set up and see if I get another crash. For me, it's just strange it all happened after the latest update. Before that, zero issues. Thinks for the link in your most recent post. I'll need to investigate that one further. Todd
  9. I have the same issue, Bryan. It all started after the most recent FS2C update for the 777. Prior to the update I had zero issues. Todd
  10. Aaron, I typically check flightaware.com, which typically gives altitudes fir most flights. I use whatever PFPX or Simbrief recommends but I sometimes crosscheck it with flightware, because you may get an unrealistic altitude. For exampke, when flying from KLAS to KLAX (a 40 min flight), FL380 is not very realistic since you'll reach top of descent well before you ever hit FL380.
  11. If you are into short long-haul flights, there is always the FSLabs Concorde.
  12. How long does it take for 3rd party distributors to release? I purchased from FSPilot Shop and v2.1 still not available.
  13. Eaglesoft Citation X, Flight 1 Citation Mustang, Flysimware Learjet 35A, Lionheart Learjet 24. I would say those 4 are the best if you want excellent to reasonable systems modelling (listed in order of systems complexity).
  14. I think another big reason is many developers have full time jobs and families. Any free time away from the day job goes to family first. The rest of their free time is spent developing rather than giving updates.
  15. I wish RSP would get an update. I personally like it much better than PTA as I got better visuals and it was much simpler.
  16. If I may piggy back on this dicussion..., I've been having similar issues since doing a fresh install of P3Dv3.3. I was getting CDT about 30 sec to 10 minutes after loading P3D with the PMDG 737. I did exactly what Jim recommended - merging the dll.xml and exe.xml files and then deleting said files in the appdata/roaming/lockheed martin/P3Dv3 folder. I made sure there are no duplicate entries in the merged dll.xml and exe.xml files and the spacing between entries is appropriate. I also reinstalled the FSDT add-on manager and that seemed to fix my problem, but the g2d.dll error re-emerged last night. I am noticing that despite deleting the dll.xml and exe.xml files in the appdata/roaming/lockheed marting/P3Dv3 folder ,both are being reappearing, and it seems Active Sky is the culprit as the following entry keeps getting rebuilt: <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_connect</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> I am wondering if having this entry in the dll.xml and exe.xml files in both folder locations might be causing an issue. Todd
  17. Yup, all my scenery has to be reinstalled. A lot of work, but not a huge deal for me. Each time I do this I make my sim a little leaner as I find my time limits me so I limit what aircraft I focus on. Back to topic....
  18. I decided to do a clean install of P3Dv3 - it's something I do yearly anyway. I never copied the default shaders folder so no telling what has been changed overvthe last months. I usually am good about backing up stuff, but not so with that folder. I also installed the latest PTA since the new v1.3 was just released. So now I can play around with settings with a clean install. And, yes, default shaders hlsl folder has been backed up. Todd
  19. What's the solution? I have the same issue, yet I restored my default shaders but still get the same error messages. I am also using v1.2 of PTA for P3D v3.3. Todd
  20. I would really dig a PMDG 757. I can only hope.... one day. Maybe one day.
