  1. Thanks tam 210 for your feedback. I do have a registered copy of FSUIPC I will give it a try. Did not think of it actually.
  2. G'day Simmers I recently purchased the Saitek X55 and when I tried mapping the slider switch and the mini joystick on the throttle unit to FSX functions, FSX does not recognize the input when I activate the switches. I thought had a faulty unit until I tried the X55 with Prepar3D and the switches are indeed recognized and working. I have my slider set up as air brake and it works perfectly. Appreciate any advice.
  3. Many thanks Arklight, I will look for the update. I was not aware that an update has been released.
  4. Greetings Simmers Can anybody please advise if there is a livery of the Qatar Airways C-17 Globemaster from Virtavia. Photo below is what I am after. I have searched and searched but could not find anything. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Thank you Aex for your above feedback. Great to see you guys are taking note of the comments.
  6. Just downloaded it and I have to agree with the post above, very disappointed. The HUD really is that bad and the VC is very average to put it nicely. Another thing I noticed. I flew the Saudi jet and the Arabic "Royal Saudi Air Force" writing is all wrong.
  7. Thanks Nikki. I will review the controller setup in detail to see if there is anything unusual. I forgot to mention that I did uninstall the jet and then reinstalled again, but the same behaviour is still happening. Cheers
  8. Dear All I need some help if anyone can solve this for me: Recently I started experiencing some strange behaviour from the Aplhasim FSX Hunter. Once I go above 150 knots it starts to shake and increases as the speed goes up. It was fine before. On my laptop the same jet flies ok at all speeds. I am stumped as to the cause of this. Can anyone help. Thanks
  9. Yes you gotta be in windowed mode.
  10. Thanks Phil, May I ask a couple of questions: 1- When you click "Views" then Instrument Panel", what is the gauge listed as ? 2- Which panel.cfg file do you need to modify ? Is it the panel, panel _4_3 or the panel_wide or all of them ? Thanks
  11. Fellow Simmers Can anyone tell me if I can use Rob Barendregt's Ground Handling Gauge with PMDG 737 NGX ? I tried it with default aircraft and it worked but can't see it with the PMDG. Thanks in advance
  12. I have heard the F-111s in real life at many airshows in Melbourne Australia and this FSX version sounds nothing like them.
  13. On the subject of the arrestor hook, one RAAF jet used the hook to make a successful belly landing at Amberley Base back in 2006 if I remember correctly. It was captured on video and you can see it on youtube.
  14. Interesting Pete. I did read one comment on the JustFlight facebook page where one user also commented on the bad sound. I might add I also installed this jet in Prepar3D and the I have the same observations. I agree with you it is a challenge on the approach to landing. You really must watch the speed otherwise she loses altitude very quickly. I guess I will wait to see if any patched are released soon. Meanwhile I will continue to fly it. The F-111 has always been a menacing looking jet, and it still is in FSX.
  15. Hi All I downloaded and installed the just released JustFlight F-111 and while the model looks great (especially the RAAF liveries), the sound in my opinion is a big diasppointment. I am no F-111 expert, but surely those Pratt & Whitneys should sound a lot more "awsome" than what is presented in the initial release. Another think I noticed is that if I want to taxi from a standing start, I have to jam the throttles to around 50% before the jet begins to roll. Once it does, it accelerates far too quickly and before I know it I am taxiing way too fast. If I bring back the throttles just a bit (and I really mean just a bit) the engines go to idle and the plane loses speed and comes to a stop. Iam finding it extremely difficult to maintain a reasonable taxi speed. Anyone with similar (or otherwise) thoughts on this jet ? Cheers
  16. Thank you Gents for your replies. Yes I did try all the "uninstall" files in the main FSX folder but none of them was the F-14. I will go with removing the files from Simobject folder and the Iris folder containing the manuals. That should do the trick. Thanks again guys.
  17. Hi All A quick question. I was trying to uninstall the Iris Pro F-14 last night but I could not find any options for that. I also checked in the control panel under "uninstall a program" but there was no listing there either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards
  18. Many thanks Martyn, this is exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated
  19. G'day Folks I installed the aircraft (FSX version) from the CD and it runs well except for the windscreens. They are black, making forward visibility impossible. Would anyone be kind enough to offer some help if they know of a fix. Cheers
  20. Greetings SimmersI have downloaded and installed JF's Carrier and been doing some take off and landing runs. However I am the only one on the deck. Can anyone help me out in advising me on how to fill the deck with jets.Much apopreciated.
  21. Here is my take ....I only got into FSX about a year ago and I am regretting that I did not do it mych earlier. As a piece of software with all that it has to offer, it really is incredible.I have been a fan of strictly military aircraft since I was a youn boy. However after getting into FSX and meeting a fellow simmer at work towards the end of last year, I have developed a huge interest and respect for commercial airliners and even small GA aircraft. I actually love flying the big jetc and have learned so much about the procedures, systems and the way commercial aviation operates. It is great being able to tell other people (non simmers) about what that instrument does or what happens during the takeoff or what those noises are that we all hear during a flight. This all came from FSX. An amazing program, made also more amazing by thy numerous software and hardware add ons.
  22. Johnnyboy I would highly recommend that you get yourself a good quality Powered USB Hub (not only USB cable but external power adapter) to connect your panels to. Connecting to a USB-only hub or the USB ports from your motherboard will most certainly cause you problems. A powered hub is the only way to go. Another thing. Don't use the Saitek drivers for the panels. Instead google "SPAD drivers for Saitek Panels" and download them for free. They are far better than the Saitek ones. Other than that I think you should be ok. Good luck.
