  1. I finally have two monitors. i figured out how to add a new view to the other monitor, but now the active monitor has an annoying border around it.1. How can I get rid of the active window border?2. How can I switch between monitors without using the mouse?3. How can I maximize the new view on the other monitor? Currently I have to manually resize, and it isn't perfect. Thanks,Wild

  2. The simple answer to that question is yes.The reason their decisions seem illogical from the outside is we don’t have access to the facts. And keep in mind most of the staff only have access to a limited picture as well. You can assume their course was logical - whether it pays off remains to be seen :)So far indications are good.If you look at the information we do have, the closing of ACES was just a structural change. (my opinion)The project and the people - by and large - were ‘moved’ and a branch studio was closed.Without understanding the particulars consolidation might seem illogical...but there are genuine benefits for the staff and project. :( If you don't agree, I have some Florida swamp land to sell you :)
Closer to Microsoft's games studio actually, and Microsoft doesn't do structural changes. If they really were, they would have kept the team and just forced them to move. I don't think you understand Microsoft so well. If you listen to any of their financial calls, they are really into XBox. Actually it is only one of a few things at Microsoft that is doing well. LOL!Seriously guys, if this was anyone else other than Microsoft, you would all be 100% correct. I wouldn't argue a thing. Sadly, this is Microsoft.P.S. Bridges are worth more than real estate these days, but if you add an airport to your swamp I might reconsider. ;-)Wild

  3. Wow! Thanks for the details. I love the site. This is still way too advanced for me yet though. I was hoping FSX and FSX's ATC would be smart enough to use it. Now that I see it, I guess not. This is a fascinating topic. I can't wait to learn more. Thanks again,Wild

  4. Hi guys,I usually fly bush from point a to point b. I have seen Standard Arrival and Standard Departure plates and was wondering how I could be forced to use them by ATC? Also, I notice large aircraft fly across certain paths when I was looking at a chart of the world once, and was wondering how I can realistically fly them too? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Wild

  5. Thanks for the history ahuimanu, the responses make more sense now. What I don't think the so called "Microsoft Flight Experts" take into account is Microsoft doesn't always do things logically. What you laugh as being impossible, might be more possible when you realize how Microsoft works.First, XBox is making them a load of money. They finally got it right with the 360 and everything they see from an entertainment perspective is seen wearing XBox glasses. Do you think they dropped the Simulator from Microsoft flight because they were building a next-gen simulator?Do you think they are Using XBox/Windows Live so developers will have a better way to reach their audience?Do you think they fired most of Aces studio so they could work on making the existing code better?Do you think they stopped production on Microsoft Train Simulator 2 because they want to expand their simulator software? If so, I have a bridge to sell you in New York. :-)Trust me, I want Microsoft Flight to be Flight Simulator 11. I just don't want to get my hopes high yet. I don't think simulator means the same thing to Microsoft as it does to people in this forum.Wild

  6. LOL! I certainly agree with that.

Honestly, the reasons have been discussed (and cussed) for nearly two years now. The forum search is a wonderful tool to use.My private opinion though? Microsoft is like a woman: she has the absolute right to change her mind at any time, for any or no reason whatever! It comes as default behavior with the twin, forward-looking radar housings! :(

  7. Thanks, I will check out the Lionheart Kodiak.I also saw the A2A's 377 airliner. I just love old airliners, and was blown away when I saw it.The SAAB 91 Safir model is also great. So many choices, not enough money ;-)

  8. I love using the XBox 360's controls for flight. I use the analog triggers for yaw, the left stick for pitch/roll, and the right stick for view. It works very well. I think a Kinnect 2 in the future could easily figure out where your hand's are and translate that into Flight Simulator. I bet you the exec's at Microsoft are thinking the same thing. Check out my other thread.Wild

  9. LOL! @MGH, and how do you know you are right? Because what Microsoft posted in their FAQ? Do you believe everything Microsoft tells you?You probably believe Windows is bug fee too. LOL!THANKS FOR MAKING ME LAUGH THIS MORNING @MGH.

You asked what we thought and we told you. It's usually a good idea to have some understanding of the subject before posting.

  10. Thanks Frankla,I am new, but there seems to be a lot of sensitive, or childish members on this thread. Why was everyone so down my throat? Is Microsoft Flight a touchy issue? Other than #1, or #2, I stand by my prediction. Either way, I still love FSX and hope FS-11 is in all our futures. Thanks again,WIld.

  11. You guys seem to have a lot more information than I do. Some of you are way more confident than I can understand. I hope you guys are right of course. :-)Clearly from the FAQ, they want a share of the third-party developers. Also, just because they have a marketplace, it doesn't mean they will allow the same type of third party developers they allow now. As for using the Unreal Tournament 3 engine, I can clearly see now that I was wrong about that.If this is just FS-11, why did they fire the Aces Studio?

  12. Listen,Ultimate Traffic 2 for traffic.Ground Environment X for ground textures.Ultimate Terrain X for roads, etc.Real Environment X Overdrive for clouds, sky, water themes and a bunch of other stuff.EZCA camera.[enter] payware aircraft of your choosing.Get these addons and you're set.You should apply tweaks to your .cfg file. Will require much testing on your part. Also, look into enb bloom series (to me this change FSX completely)
Thanks, but I am a little confused. Won't GroundEnvironment X and UltimateTerrainX collide? They are both ground textures. What about ActiveSky? I heard that is amazing.

  13. I know nothing specific about Microsoft Flight, but here is what I think it will be.1. It will use the Unreal 3 engine.2. It will be ported to XBox, the ground detail will be stunning, as in any modern FPS, but it won't contain the world, just 1 or two states of very high detail.3. Additional scenery will be in the XBox Live Marketplace.4. It will be simple, it will not be compatible with FSX, and it will be more a game than a simulator.5.Microsoft will not allow third-party developers. In other words, Nintendo Pilot with Kinnect input.Again, just my opinion, but I usually get Microsoft fairly well. What do you think?

  14. I was surprised to find no concern from 3rd party developers over Microsoft dumping Flight Simulator. I know they are coming out with a new version now, but even then, I am still confused. Your average scenery or plain could easily surpass the purchase price of FSX itself. Now, there platform is gone, but everyone was quiet, or even worst, optimistic. The average response was, "FSX is more powerful than any hardware currently available. It will be at least 3 or 4 years before everyone can run it at max." I understand, but it takes a long time to build a new flight simulator, and who do we have to build it?Let assume Microsoft Flight is just a game. What I would like to see are all the third party developers do is fund a open-source flight simulator project. The project would just be graphics and a basic physics model. The third party developers would simply connect to this framework with their software. What do you think of the idea? What do you think Microsoft Flight might offer?
