    I definitely like the FSX version for its amount of eye candy, but there's a huge difference in the download size, as compared to the FS9 version.

    Photoscenery kills "4th party" autogen, so the respective PS "tiles" have to be disabled. KPSP airport works well in default scenery; no need to buy FTX Global base. (But it is well worth it for many others.) You may have to adjust your graphics options (= create a new graphics profile), paying special attention the autogen slider. (Details can be found in any ORBX manual.) And welcome to the "real" FSX world after more than 6 years of AVSIM membership!

    XP10_HD_Mesh_V3_+40+000-Europe seems to be missing on the Aerosoft mirror. Currently downloading it from the AU server.

    Download from the Aerosoft mirror worked fine for me yesterday evening with FDM (4 European mesh "tiles").

    I have seen offers from different vendors, not limited in time for 38 EUR. Current Aerosoft offer is 37,49 EUR (time-limited until 21st of Dec).

    Majestic have their own setup utility for calibration and stuff. Check their documentation for the details and the procedure.

    Had a FSX reactivation just this week via MS servers and it went OK. The Acceleration pack is another 15 EUR, and the combo of FSX Prof and Accpack sells as FSX Gold. The price used to be 30 EUR. FSX Gold is what the Steam edition of FSX is based on.

    PMDG have been very fair with their system spec recommendations. Get/Have a PC according to their recommendation, and it will run the respective aircraft just fine. My PC was built according to their NGX recommendation and it still runs the B777, or any PMDG aircraft, nicely. Complexity is only there if you really want it: In order to get the full complexity out of a PMDG aircraft, you have to enable the failure mode - your call entirely. Without the failures even a PMDG plane can be configured for takeoff quickly, and flown in a casual way, except for, maybe, their JS4100.

    I reactivated FSX via the MS activation servers just the other day; it would be a shame if DTG "fixed" that!!!
