  1. Auto Pilot and GPS pop ups: This will change all C195 aircraft. What you need: Carenado B200 installed (we use the 530 GPS from her) 1. go to FSX main/Gauges and COPY THIS FILE (select, right mouse click, COPY) "GPS530_3D_B200.CAB" 2. go to FSX main/SimObjects/Airplanes/Alabeo C195_BusinessLiner/panel and PASTE that file in there. 3. open panel.cfg and add the following (MAKE A COPY BEFORE EDITING): under [Window Titles] add: Window03=GPS Window04=Auto Pilot now scroll down and add the following BELOW/AFTER [Window02] and BEFORE [Vcockpit01] //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window03] Background_color=8,8,8 size_mm=524,378 visible=0 ident=10000 window_size= 0.310, 0.370 window_pos= 0.550, 0.160 no_luminous=1 zorder=7 gauge00=GPS530_3D_B200!GPS_530, 0,0,520,378 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window04] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=348,219 position=0 visible=0 ident=796 window_size= 0.290, 0.290 window_pos= 0.020, 0.190 gauge06=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0,0 //-------------------------------------------------------- 4. go to FSX main/SimObjects/Airplanes/Alabeo C195_BusinessLiner - and make a copy of the aircraft.cfg file... this is your back up. open aircraft.cfg in the [piston_engine] section, change the following: max_rated_hp= 350 turbocharged= 1 /was 0 max_design_mp= 30 /was 0 min_design_mp= 0 /no change critical_altitude= 7000 /was 0 5. AFTER the [exits] section ADD this entire code: [autopilot] autopilot_available= 1 flight_director_available= 0 default_vertical_speed= 700.0 autothrottle_available= 0 pitch_takeoff_ga=8.0 max_pitch=10.0 max_pitch_acceleration=1.0 max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt=2.0 max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt=1.5 max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt_breakpoint=20000.0 max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt_breakpoint=28000.0 max_bank=25.0 max_bank_acceleration=1.0 max_bank_velocity=3.00 max_throttle_rate=0.10 nav_proportional_control=18 nav_integrator_control=0.20 nav_derivative_control=2.0 nav_integrator_boundary=2.00 nav_derivative_boundary=2.00 gs_proportional_control=14 gs_integrator_control=0.26 gs_derivative_control=0.00 gs_integrator_boundary=0.70 gs_derivative_boundary=0.00 yaw_damper_gain=0.000000 save How To Fly: Take off full throttle and full prop... after lift off, back throttle to 25 mp, and 2000 RPM for climb (it will get super hot if you don't). cruse at 25 mp and 1900 rpm. Speeds are 170 to 180 kts @ 9000 ft. In this config, she is a respectable mountain flyer. Enjoy!
  2. FSX in DX10 with a sun mod. There are a couple sun mods in the library. Inside shadows and sun flares only work in DX10. Look in the DX10 section here to catch up on that amazing aspect of FSX.
  3. MilViz scrapped the current version most everyone has (Alpha/Beta), and started over. So whatever version you have (all of which are incomplete anyway), probably will be completely different from final in all aspects. Still think the coolest thing I've seen is the props slow turn during start up. wish more would figure that out! Flight1 B200 is probably closest to real thing until MilViz final. It has a complete failure package, including brakes, oil levels, oil changes, engines, etc. Drawbacks: It has a funky throttle set up, and the prop spin during flight is just terrible... sorta like a fan in front of the TV. Carenado: All the FDE's are done by Stolle.
  4. There are two rocker covered switches on the upper panel. Flip them open and make sure the switches are UP. the cover will close automatically: then make sure the fuel valves are OPEN as well. Set your fuel mixtures to about HALF. Your start up will work now. here is a vid for the 520, but is the same for the 500 as well:
  5. Carenado Updated this plane to 2.0 - you have to re-dload it and copy the new Prokey from your account details at carenado
  6. Name: Carenado B200 Category: FS Aircraft Date Added: 29 January 2016 - 09:20 PM Submitter: HawkDsl Short Description: Short NW Washington State Flight in Blue Sky Scenery Just a short flight in the B200 View Video
  7. lottery planes: M600 Piper, only because those people are really cool. If you ever get the chance to see them at one of the air shows, or better yet, tour the plant in Fla, they will talk your ears off. Happy Company, Happy People, Good planes. Cessna 195, with the turbo Jake, Fuel Injection conversion, and modern avionics. Thats it.
  8. saw one going for 38k couple years ago.. original piston mind you.. but a B model that qualifies for the P&W conversion... very low time, and 100% hanger for her entire life. Haven't checked, but assumed that would be her destiny. Orig. motors needed TBO, but that was the only major line item. Lottery indeed. Even with such funds... a sound mind would consider something new... Piper M500 is real close in numbers, and can be picked up today for right around the same price range... after all... who's gonna fly with you again after a 4000 fpm take off and climb.. :He He:
  9. I have to say... I bought this and parked it, then found it again... Once you get pretty good at flying this plane, its allot of fun... still too slow.. but the prospect of a C196 conversion got me thinking... C196 is a 195 with a 450hp P&W Wasp Jr slapped on the front. A few where done by Falls City Flying Service at Standiford Field in Louisville for air survey work. They had tip tanks. I might play around with this, and upload a simple conversion you can copy paste. No graphix changes of course, but the .air and .cfg can easily be changed to Wasp specs.
  10. SHIFT L turns on all the lights.. The giant white rocker switch on the left has to be ON before any of the knob switches will work.
  11. far left button on the FMS - (DIR key) - and use the right side LSK key next to the waypoint you want to go to.
  12. Is there a way to load FSX flight plans.. I cant seem to find it. Some routes would take forever to hand type in.
  13. I should add to OP... the real KA will roll @ flight idle. You need to use "beta" (the area between flight idle and reverse) to flatten out the props and slow .down/hold position. .
  14. !! I didn't even think about NASCAR! I love the follow sports idea.. if I could afford a plane of my own, this is exactly the kind of flights we'd be doing. Cheers!
  15. PD3 version, but FSX bones. https://youtu.be/VB75ZRPicWA the pilot has no idea how to operate a t-prop, but he shows off the plane very well.
  16. Sound is a real problem, even for TSS (who appear to have stopped long ago with new sets). I've had to tweak every single sound set ever made for anything in FSX. I don't have this installed yet (i do have it), but this is a new aircraft...on sale... right now. I have seen people buy/request the king air sound insulation for interior upgrades/refinishing. The new kings are very quiet inside.
  17. There is a ytube vid out there already. Have not installed, but have it on stand by... I had a feeling this was gonna be a good one... at any rate.. a current/on the show room floor now plane, was my selling point. GTN750 - uhhh... it has a Proline21? I think Rockwell would be a little upset you guys hacking their avionics!
  18. U need a Carenado Account with the old C90 listed as one of your past purchase. The discount is applied during purchase. Failures! Oh that is great to hear. The next step for developers... proper engine management... And what happens when you don't. "As Real As It Gets" is closer all the time.
  19. Hi All. Your missions: Flight plan to follow your favorite football team (US, NFL) on all their away games. I just finished the season in a C195 with three of my friends, using real weather (Historic) for the games. The Dallas trip was brutal without AP, but it is really rewarding to do it "old school", and leaving the GPS in the hanger. In fact, this is a coold idea no matter what sport it is. (Panther stadium in NC):
  20. Radial Engine aftermarket support is on par with classic muscle cars these days. There are plenty of NEW parts being made for these great engines, regardless of size and make (although, P&W is way way more supported). The DC3 can be taken to ZERO air frame time by company's like Basler. Naa.. it's got nothing to do with age... but how cheap and mismanaged BA is. Sadly.. That is a very old story indeed.
  21. All taxi problems are solved with the LUA plugin for FSUIPC. Le' Google. Works wonders for all AC with the exception of the F1 B200. Disable for that one. Anywho... was curious about this AC, but don't feel like beta testing.
  22. Single Pilot tube.. Even fully automated robo-planes will have two pilots until the end of the univers. The number of pilots has less to do with "complex" aircraft these days.. It's more about redundancey/saftey. You know... when the captain has the fish. There will always be two pilots for the same reason people love a Captain with grey hair... The perception of safety and experence > the actual requirment or need. Even if the worlds aviation authoritys alow single pilot tubes, all it would take is one tube company to advertise "We have two Pilots!"... and well.. that's the end of that sillyness. Single pilot cargo on the other hand... well that is probably gonna happen.
