  1. Is it marketed as a P3D 2.5 product or just 2.0 etc? I think it must be a bit of a nightmare for these developers keeping up with the updates to P3D as well as all of their current development? Especially as some people stay on 2.5 and others move onto 3.1. I think it's probably the same for people who develop apps for Android... The way I see it is that I install an airport into my updated 3.1 knowing that there might be the odd issue. I guess that's the way it goes if we want Lockheed Martin to keep improving it. It's not perfect but I kind of think it's the way it'll be for a while. How many people work for Taxi2Gate anyway? Are they a big software house? Or just a few developers doing it in their spare time like QualityWings?
  2. Try the Taxi2Gate forums here: http://forum.iflysimx.com/forum/60-taxi2gate/ I use their Hamad International at Doha and their Istanbul airports in my P3D 3.1 and they're the best looking and best performing airport add ons I have. I get amazing smoothness and frame rates with my settings right up with the PMDG 777 and 737. I just bought the Munich add on too. Taxi2Gate are well on their way to being the best airport add on developer out there...
  3. As far as I'm aware, DXT5 is better for performance than 32Bit. I use DXT5 and it looks great...
  4. Just when I think I'm getting the hand of all of this Sim stuff, something else come along that makes my head hurt! I've read through this whole thread and I'm not sure what to set my frame lock at. At the moment I'm running my frames at unlimited. I think this is a waste of resources right? So I'm trying to lock it to a number. I can't make any sense of the table that Rob posted. I tried to make a custom resolution on my screen of 30hz but it won't let me do it. I can only choose 60hz or 59hz. Should I be locking my frames at 37 like the chap further up this conversation? I'm typically getting 40 fps in the NGX cockpit and 60 fps in the external view... Can anyone help me please?
  5. I'm really looking forward to the PMDG 747 and the Qualitywings 787...
  6. Does anyone know what is actually updated by the Cont1.cab and Install_Content.msi file? What does this change in the Sim? Is it the new water files etc?
  7. In the downloads section on the Prepar3d site, there's a drop down under the main download. This lets you download the Client only msi file. I think it's about 150meg. Just go into your Control Panel on Windows and uninstall the Prepar3d 3.0 Client only. There are 3 Prepar3d 3.0 related things in your Add/Remove programs list. Only uninstall the Client one. Then install the new 3.1 Client installer you just downloaded. You'll have to re input your registration details from your Prepar3d 3.0 purchase and off you go. A few things need updating like Orbx Libraries and Active Sky Next but otherwise my Sim remained as it was in Prepar3d 3.0. A complete revalation compared to 2.0 updates where I had to reinstall everything with every update... As for your other questions, just have a look around this Prep3d forum here. Search for a guy called Rob Ainscough. You'll pretty much find everything you need in his threads and responses.
  8. When you guys have quite finished waving your appendages at each other, can someone who's actually used this say if it's any good and worth bothering with please?
  9. Most of the time the non installers will fail to find FSX and stop anyway. At least that's what happens to me. Otherwise, if I install something and it comes up with the wrong location for P3D just point it in the right direction and then add it to the scenery library yourself. That last bit only works for scenery though obviously. Just have a look on the websites for the add ons you're not sure about. It won't hurt to use the Migrator anyway. I hardly use it these days but if I do, I just turn it off again once the add on is installed.
  10. I gave this tweak a shot today. I was sceptical but it's the real deal. At least for my system anyway... Sat at Gate 101 at UK2000 Gatwick with ORBX Global/Vector/Open LC: PMDG 737-800: No Tweak = 33-36 fps Tweak = 39-44 fps PMDG 777-200: No Tweak = 30-33 fps Tweak = 40-45fps Aerosoft Airbus A320 = Only about a 3 fps gain... What a find! Does anyone see a strange old style 737 2d panel pop up just before the NGX 3d cockpit loads when starting up a scenario with the 737-800?
  11. It's so good to be back in this plane. I bought it for FSX years ago but changed to P3D when 1.4 was released. I kept FSX for the NGX but stopped using it pretty quickly to concentrate on P3D. I've loved using the Aerosoft Airbus, but this is like putting on a pair of old slippers. It's just so slick and complete. I really love it. Flying from LOWW to EGKK on IVAO as I write this. Fantastic...
  12. I'm using IVAO for the first time in ages with Prepared 2.4. The weather coming from IVAO is all over the place. My Airbus A320 (Aerosoft) is climbing and descending like a roller coaster! Is there a way to use ActiveSky Next rather than the IVAO weather? Is that even allowed when flying online?

    ProATC X

I'm with you on that. I bought it after reading lots of bad things. I love it, I haven't had a single issue with it over about 20 full IFR flights...
  14. Are you running Windows 7 or Windows 8 with your setup? I'm thinking of doing a full re-install of everything for P3D 2.5. Maybe it's a good opportunity to move to Windows 8 if P3D runs better under it?
  15. That utility from "Some Eastern Bloc Website" has been a brilliant little thing to have. I moved to P3D back on v1.4 and hardly anything worked without it. It had regular updates when things needed changing or adding too.
  16. Thanks for the camera set, I just used your file to set up my 777 in P3D....
  17. That's really useful to know, thanks. I'll keep that for the future
  18. Hi Guys, I recently moved to Oman from the UK to work and I already miss my Sim! I'm pricing up a new system but need some advice on CPU's. My old system had an i7 2700K in it. I'm a bit out of touch with the new Intel stuff. Can someone point me in the right direction please? I basically looking for the best CPU available that isn't an Extreme version. Looking on the websites is confusing me as some of the 4000 series i7 cpu's are more expensive that the 5000 series. I assumed that the 5000 cpu's are newer and faster but apparently not? Thanks in advance... Chris
  19. I'm on Windows 7 and had to disable HyperThreading to get rid of stutters when using AF15 on my i7 2700K. It was enabling a feature called CPU Parking. Turning off HyperThreading gets rid of CPU Parking.
  20. Thanks for that. I think I'll go and get rid of the RAASPRO.dll for a start off then. I don't like it anyway... I just looked at the Prepar3d forum. A lot of people have this issue, even with a Vanilla install. Not a lot of response from Lockheed Martin either...
  21. I'm having this crash too. I'm also using Airbus X Extended and Active Sky Next. As a point of interest, I had to install the Simconnect package that comes with Prepar3d 2.2 manually. It didn't get installed when I installed the sim. It's happened to a lot of people apparently. I'll be interested to see if anyone has found a fix other that uninstalling everything...
  22. I'm using Orbx England, Scotland and Wales in Prepar3d 2.2. I used the Estonia Migrator and I haven't had any problems at all... One quick question though, If I now buy Orbx Global and install it, is there a way of telling it I want to keep my England, Scotland and Wales over the top of Global?
  23. I thought that might be the case. Your Graphics Card is better than mine too. I'll give it a miss until I can get hold of a new 780ti. Thanks for the response...
  24. Has anyone tried to install the new Aerosoft Night Environment add ons into Prepar3d v2.2? Either the British Isles or the Dubai one?
