  1. Hi Erik! I agree with your system specifications. Just one thing: I would take the 2GB version of the graphics card. Why? If you run many Add-Ons at the same time like NGX, REX 2, UTX, GEX and a detail airport scenery it´s possible to run out of memory in some situations which results in stuttering. Furthermore 2GB are better for the future. This one is good: http://www.gainward....apro.php?id=458 This card is very silent and keeps your GPU cool smile.png Beyond, you can overclock the card to reach the performance of a GTX 570! But of course it´s up to you... If you have enough money, I would recommend you a SSD drive for the OS!

  2. Hello simmer fellows! Due to the impending release of the NGX I am asking the following question: What would be the best way to learn this awesome but more complex bird? I know some of us - including me - will have much experience with the old NG but you know the new bird will be much more complex. So, how do you will get started with the NGX? Do you read all manuals in-depth and start learning the NGX from scratch? I think this would be the best and meaningful way. I am gonna do this. Because when studying the manuals we will have the chance to get to know the system functions in-depth.Or do you just print out the checklists and start to fly (hope not)? laugh.png What do you advise an average simmer - who can handle the old NG - PMDG team?

  3. Hello all future NGX owners ;)In the old 737 I was always wondering how the drag works. My experience is that if the speedbrakes are extended the plane only decelerates very slow, also when using a low vertical speed. Is this an realistic behaviour or was this a not perfect realization of the speed brake function in the old bird? So, I would like to know how the NGX behaviour is in the case speedbrakes are extended? Does it react realistic? And what is realistic? Does the speed decreases faster or slower when speedbrakes are extended? In my opinion the break efficiency is too low but I am not a real pilot so please apologize if I am wrong ;)Is my objection legitimate or am I just a bad pilot?

  4. Hello flight simmers!I do not know if this question was asked before. If yes, please apologize. When an aircraft touches down on the runway in FSX the nose wheel touchdown is not as accurate as in a real scenario. What do I mean? If the main gear touches down, the bird is nearly strinking hard down on the ground with the nose gear. You have also not really a chance to prevent this fully by using the pitch elevator. So, I would like to know if this negative effect was considered in the NGX and was hence developed accurately? Is this an FSX issue? Or am I a worse pilot? :(

  5. Hello!I didnt want to start a new thread...I am looking for a CPU cooler. I do not want to use the Corsair A70 because the fan has no PWM signal (is a must-have). I want to use a Core i5-2500k (Socket 1155) and overclock it to minimum 4.5GHz. The cooler should be more silent as the midrange class and should keep the temperatures low of course. It should not cost more than 50 Euros (= 72 US Dollar). The weight of 1kg shouldn´t be exceeded.Which cooler can you advise me?

  6. Thank you Ryan for your fair reply!I was just wondering that you all can produce such a high quality bird though you have - let´s call them - communication limitations. Because personal meetings - which take place once in a blue moon - are always better than any other medium such as Skype or MSN. I do not know why the others tease me because as I said it´s probably quite difficult to work together. I know that from my study. You cannot say: "Robert, take a look on my results immediately". Because Robert or other members are at work and then it will be evening or days later until someone can give an constructive criticism. Am I right?

  7. Hello PMDG-Team!As far as I know some (or all?) members of PMDG do not live in the nearer neighbourhood. So i am wondering how you communicate and handle the business meetings. Therefore I (or we) would like to know:- How far you live away from each other?- How you communicate usually? Traditional via Skype, Mail etc.?- How often do the PMDG members meet personally?- Does the huge (is it huge?) distance effect the working speed?

  8. Definitely nVidia.Get this one:http://www.tweaktown.com/pressrelease/4932/gainward_first_released_4_models_of_geforce_gainward_gtx_560_ti/index.htmlTake the 2GB version! Overclock it and you´ll have the power of a GTX 570!!

  9. You do not really want to show us your desk/pc environments? That´s a pity :Cry:Maybe you can tell us at least how you communicate the most time together? Does the PMDG team often meet personally together or do you communicate by skype or mail the most time? Do all PMDG members live in the neighbour cities or do you have drive hundreds of km when you hold meetings?

  10. I saw many people requesting pics of 2d panels. I always wondered why people want these anyway. The virtual cockpit is soooooo much better then 2d (well, in my humble opinion). People are always wondering if the plane is realistic. 2d isn't, right? So why an 2d panel?
I am also one of those persons who still use the 2D panel. My reason is that in my opinion in the VC the person is not be placed on the correct position as in a real plane. I think the person sits too far away from the panel. But I have to say I do not know if this problem is already solved.Secondly, for example when you want to turn on the APU Bleed Switch you have to move your body a little bit to the right when you sit in a real plane on the captain´s seat to have the overhead panel approx. in the middle of your view. But in the VC you see the overhead panel and also the FMC for instance too much from the side view - the angle is too high. So you cannot take a close look from the top. I hope you understand what I mean. It´s not realistic for me. And this prevents me from using VC up to now. In addition, the qualities of the VCs are not the best - it reminds me on the graphics from 1998. I know that´s a question of frame rates. I have not the best hardware too.To summarize: I feel no enthusiasm and fun when I fly with a VC.But I will not exclude that maybe the NGX can change my attitudes :(

  11. Mike,Thanks for your reply! But I have just seen that the A70 has only a 3-Pin connector! I want a cooler with PWM definitely. So I think I´ll take an eye on the Scythe series again. Does anybody can recommend me one of the Scythe coolers? Maybe he or she can say something about the noise level. Thank you!

  12. Hi all!I am new in this forum...I would not start a new thread so i continue this one. I am thinking about a good CPU cooler for my new system. The CPU will be a Core i5-2500k. I want to overclock the CPU to approx. 4.5-4.7GHz depending on how much is possible with this production run. The cooler should be silent as possible and of course should cool the CPU down to a low temperature. I read lots of reviews and there are three coolers which come into question:1) Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B2) Scythe Ninja 33) Scythe YasyaWhat i also should mention is the price: maximum 50 Euros. So, the Noctua coolers are too expensive for me!I also read in this forum that the Corsair A70 is hightly recommended but i do not know if this cooler can fulfill my requirements, maybe it´s not as silent as the Scythe ones?If anyone has other suggestions, please let me know and say why his or her favourite cooler is so much better than the Scythe series...Thank you!Matthew
