  1. I may be purchasing the Black Box Simulation A330
  2. Have a look at the brake temps on the wheels page. If the temps are going up, then brakes are working. Regards Richie
  3. This is because the NGX does not use the saved SIDs/STARs. You have to manually put them in when you're doing your flight prep. There is a post about it by Tabs somwehere around. Hope this helps
  4. Some aircraft I know have low speed ground idle and flight idle...some switchable by buttons and that now-a-days, flight idle is called approach idle, the speed which is set by the FADEC corresponding to atmospheric conditions. The low speed ground was just so save power and reduce thrust on taxi/on the ground and flight idle was for flight, and there are specifics put in place that will not allow you to be able to select ground idle while there is no weight on wheels ie aircraft in flight. This is why I said one idle because I thought we were talking about flight only. As far as the bleed air for pressurisation is concerned, aircraft pressurisation control is achieved by regulating the amount of air leaving the cabin. Bleed air is regulated from the engines to a much lower value for the air-con system since 60 psi of air blowing in the passenger's face might be a bit too much So I believe that low engine speeds will not affect the pressurisation system as many aircraft can be pressurised to maximum differential by use of just the apu alone. I think thee is some regulation which also says that on approach, engines should be able to go from approach speed/idle not sure what it's called in 6 seconds, which the controlled by the fadec and also slightly overfuelling the engine to be able react to the need for the acceleration. I've just spouted a load of stuff from the top of my head....now I've forgotten what the subject was! Time for a cuppa me thinks! Edit:- Head's back on track now. I think at some time, I will have to look in to this idle stuff, as the many different idles is news to me or is it we're just calling the same thing different names?
  5. Really? Well I learn something new every day. I thought there is only one idle. I thought though the idle speed though is different depending on what the pressure and temperature sensors pick up due to the fact that pressure and temperature affect the mass air flow into the compressor. Then as a result the computer will schedule more or less fuel in relation to mass airflow to reduce the risk of compressor stall/surge and flameout blah blah etc... Honestly, I'm not being sarcastic but I thought the above description was how a turbojet works and didn't realise that aircraft configuration had much to do with it.
  6. I'm not sure what you're describing there. However in the EFB after you have made your route, when you save it, there is an option to save as a PMDG RTE Use that option and then use your FMC to look up CO ROUTES and it should be there. Minus the SIDs and STARs. Add your SIDs and STARs using the DEP ARR button, check for discontinuities and off you go. Hope that helps
  7. Is it due to the fact that as you on LVL CHG the r.o.d is adjusted to match your selected speed?
  8. Icing conditions are defined as where the temp is below 10 decrees C and there is visible moisture in the air. Where the anti-icing method is used, the protection system is switched on prior to encountering icing conditions and it remains on so that no ice is allowed to form on the surface. So I guess then. Hope that helps I have no idea of RW operations but those are the EASA/CAA regs.
  9. I'm agreeing with a few...Like the logo....not too keen on the tail. Maybe it'll take some getting used to. That's understood though seeing that the old logo had been around for a few decades.
  10. If you want a more detailed description than the FCOM, PM me your email address and I'll send you a pdf that I found on the net.
  11. My post was too short....needed more words...more words now done just for this one word..... Thanks!
  12. Also the link looks like its an AIRAC not the PMDG product. Correct me if I'm wrong
  13. Nice one! Check this one out too. FSX AI...I've had this one from a while back....
  14. Welcome! You need to find your FSX folder and then find the PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS folder and delete it that way. For example C:\FSX\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS Good luck
  15. However if he farts....he's in trouble.......
  16. Agreed. I have just myself bought an MSI 580 GTX to replace my 550Ti and I nearly cried when Isaw how worse it was. I Moved fsx.cfg to the desktop and let fsx build a new one. I kept the file because I had to add a line in for the UT2 traffic One by one I followed these tweaks http://flyawaysimulation.com/news/3806/fsx-performance-tips-and-tweaks/ and it's slowly getting better. I have got to the fsx graphics settings and am now getting better slowly but surely. Conclusion...one tweak at a time...book yourself a day off too!! Good luck
  17. try ctrl+shift+backspace or ctrl+shift+enter
  18. Check this link out http://www.smartcockpit.com/aircraft-ressources/B737_NG-Circling_Approach_%28as_flown_by_Ryanair%29.html Happy Landings
  19. It will also let me spy on your rig set up with the intention to get myself the same! Cheers!
  20. Just any software you can open up the file in and lower the volume. I've got an old copy of Adobe Audition whuch I used to use. If you're happy with not having the sound at all then you're set. Regards, Richie
  21. I really didn't know the market was that small. I would have thought it was a lot bigger...I would like one because there are now lots of smaller airports that have some wonderful add-on scenery available-too small for a commercial airliner, but big enough for a small jet. I for one would love to fly a PMDG product into one of these airfileds...just because they're soooo good!
  22. Hello Zoran, The file you're looking for is called pmdgj41_altimeter_vibrometer and can be found in the \FSX\Sound\PMDG\J41 folder. If you've got sound editing software do a search for it and lower the volume. It's been quite a while but I think I had to reduce it by 30db for it not to be annoying. Good luck and I hope this helps.. Richie
