  1. Thanks for the reply. You misunderstood me I did not lose my windows activation but the PMDG T7 activation after windows update. Now I've re-activate the T7 so all is working well. However, not sure if PMDG would consider that I've activated the T7 on a new computer and reduce my activation count or not. In fact, it was not a new computer but with OS updated.

  2. Yesterday, I updated my Windows 10 to Version 1511, build 10586.36 and now the T7 said I don't have a valid licence code. When I enter the activation code, the system said cannot connect to the server. Any quick help before I submit a ticket or will revert back to previous Windows?

  3. Robert I'm reporting my current situation with your latest installer of 835,034 KB which is the latest I believe.

    1. Have FSX in D:\FSX

    2. installed SE into D:\fsx-SE

    3. checked both registry keys are pointing to the right directories

    4. run the installer, I was only given options to repair/remove

    5. click repair, said cannot repair advised to uninstall

    6. run uninstall

    7. run installer again, now I've got 2 options to install both in FSX and FSX-SE, ticked by default

    8. SUCCESS in both versions

However, needs to update AIRAC as it was put back to Sep 13. Also checked with Operation Centre,

asked me to repair the liveries in FSX version. However no livery manager in SE version, I guess this will come LATER, right?

So many thanks for making this available to SE for free, much appreciated!

BTW, my system is an MSI GE60 notebook running Windows 8.1 the T7 was running like a charm.

  4. Well, I got a suspicion that as RSR has said before, in order to fix somthing, at times, something else might be broken! I revert back to the RTM version (Sep 13) and reflown the route, same airac 1408, LNAV tracks faithfully as follows:

    1. the plane will initiate a turn 2.4 nm before OCK almost following the magenta line

    14717808409_1d8290f35a_o.jpg

    2. tracking nicely to OCK-8

    14717808799_e2e5a92656_o.jpg

    3 no more R turn 360, tracking to D290L

    14717807629_d07832a457_o.jpg

    4. to cut a long story short, finally track nicely to FI09L for landing

PMDG guys the SP1b has to be fixed  :P

  5. same Navigraph 1408 here, I understand that in real life full SID/STARs are never flown but is LNAV supposed to be able to fly the magenta line without dancing around?

BTW, Ryan commented on FB that the VNAV is not a bug but a new T/D should have appear after Kathy for the descend to Hazel.

The entries in egll.txt in sidstars looks fine to me:

  6. After installing the SP1b I recently flew from LPPT to EGLL and encountered the following problems which are reproducible on my computer at least.
I then reflew the route without ASN and cleared the weather same result. I reflew without FSUIPC the same. I created a new short flight from LEBB to EGLL starting from free flight, choose 77L, airport, runway, clear sky then Flynow, no default panel, then request the route, enter fuel, etc. same result as follows:

OCK4B STAR to RWY 9L, we are to cross KATHY at FL180 and HAZEL at FL130, I assume it is a continuous descend path.

    1. Flight progress normally until at KATHY 14707102139_b2c0affacb_m.jpg, 14707142528_2c86e5f755_m.jpg

VNAV will hold the plane level with cruise power at FL180 for 13.7nm
14893393162_be0e433be7_m.jpg before continue descending again to reach FL130 at HAZEL.
    2. When the plane approaches OCK 14890677901_f41b0190c9_m.jpg it is supposed to fly the magenta line, there are no discontinuity. However, it will try to overfly OCK
    14707101499_27c2abbb1e_m.jpg
    3. After the left turn, there is no next waypoint on ND 14707195967_1915c44773_m.jpg, the plane seems to try to fly to ock-8
    4. After reaching ock-8, D290L appears on the ND,14893394482_a28d328bf4_m.jpg
however the plane will do a 360 degree R turn to try to reach it!14890681161_800cc507f6_m.jpg
    5. After passing D290L, it tracks to GWC35 and CI09L apparently on course 14893719365_9b10cd5ec2_m.jpg
    6. However, near CI09L, the plane will do another right turn for no good reason while FI09L is the next waypoint on the ND14893395092_a7b8fc443c_m.jpg
    7. After about doing 150 right turn off course, the plane suddenly decided it has passed FI09L and decided to do a left turn instead 14707198617_dc3110e8d4_m.jpg
and ending up nowhere, I was expecting runway 09L on ND but nothing 14890681651_4136f1ea9e_m.jpg

I'll submit a ticket and am interested to know if any of you have flown the OCK4B star with any issues.

  7. Thanks Rob for the quick reply before I execute deltree FSX  :P Answers from me below:

    Francis-

Ignore the advice to reinstall.  Paul and I were just discussing that and we gave you incorrect guidance.  (Sorry!)

    Gents-

Right now we are at a loss to explain why some users are seeing this- so we are still in data collection mode.

Initially when we investigated, we found that it was happening to some users who were programming unrealistically long legs- and thought that was the cause.  We were wrong...

Right now we are looking for some feedback on this topic- and we want to know the following things: (Please don't guess- go check in the sim!)

    1) Do you see the airplane begin to wander in 8x+ time compression if you use PMDG's Auto-Time-Compression feature?

Try it once and yes when it goes up to 8X starting to wobble and auto will quickly reduce to 4x for me.

    2) Do you see the airplane begin to wander in 8x+ time compression if you manually set the time compression using the FSX menu or key commands?

I always use R+ and not via the menu.

    3) Do you have FSUIPC installed?

Yes, as reported to Paul, have tried not loading it (rename to FSUIPC.OFF) before starting FSX same result.

    3a) Which version is installed?

Was the latest version but found out WX radar not showing, revert back to 4.92 and WX radar works.

3b) Have you tried deleting your FSUIPC config file and letting it rebuild?

Yes have tried that made no difference.

    4) Have you tried deleting your FSX.CFG file and letting it rebuild?

Yes and no,  this morning edited the dll.xml so only PMDGoption is loaded so a clean FSX with no weather no addons other than T7 same result.

    5) Do you have Lockheed Martin Prepar3d installed on this machine?

Yes, same D drive but of coz different root directory.

    6) When the airplane begins to wander, watch the HEADING ROSE on the NAV DISPLAY very carefully.  Is it rotating in the proper direction and remaining in sync with the airplane heading?  If not- we need to know.

No, when the plane bank left, rose indicate opposite turn after a small lag, so the AP was trying to chase the heading and bank from left then right in bigger and bigger magnitude. However, once changing back to 1x (R- keystrokes) it appears to me the rose will come back to sync within 1-2 sec. I can post a video if u like and as previously said, it happens in both LNAV mode and HDG SEL mode.

Some background for you:  We are collecting information into a simulated data management system directly from FSX.  We collect that data via simconnect.  We are seeing a pattern in which the heading information being displayed does not seem to be in sync with what the airplane is doing when some users see this problem.  For example, the airplane banks left but heading remains static or turns right- which it obviously shouldn't do.  Since heading information seems to come unsynched in this scenario, we are looking for causes of data being overwritten in the simconnect data stream....

If you can post your results and information here- that would be helpful...

I really appreciate your effort into nailing this bugger, thanks Rob and your PMDG team.

    Francis

  8. The last advice from support is for me to delete fsx and reinstall clean! Well, did anyone with this S-turn problem have tried the reinstall and magically the problem is gone? We all know it is a huge time consuming task. I may try uninstall T7 and reinstall first but did this help some of you?

    Francis

  9. Watched your video closely...How is it possible the aircraft to be banking LEFT and the heading turning RIGHT ? See here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ul-y54iotKM#t=51

The FSX physical model cannot do this. Something is banging your FSX memory thru simconnect and messing reported aircraft heading/track. We had a similar report and turned out that the problem went away after an FSUIPC update. This particular one has definitely nothing to do with us. We read heading/track info not write.

    Best,

    Vangelis

    Hi Van,

I have also noticed this weird thing when manually increasing the time compression to 8X from 4X, the aircraft will bank to the left whereas the ND would indicate turn to the right, as if magically the autopilot and GPS/IRS has been disconnected. Does that ring a bell in terms of finding bugs? I can post my video if you want. As I said in my ticket, no ASN, no FSUIPC, clear sky FSX weather, all clean and it happens without failure on all flights, even tonight I switch to HDG SEL and the same weido thing happened so LNAV logic is not to blame, and from previous posts, other users can repeat the same issue on their plane on HDG SEL as well.

    Cheers,

    Francis

  10. For those of u like me who have the 8x compression s-turn problem, I have a thought and tonight test the flight again using hdg sel and again manually increase the time compression, stable at 4x but once hit 8x, S-turn started again so the bug is not in the LNAV code may I boldly suggest. see screenshot attached. I have resubmitted this on my existing ticket. Can any of u having the same problem try hdg-sel and 8x and report back to PMDG?

  11. Got a reply from support this evening, asking me about the weather and wind and turbulence. I reload the saved game with no ASN and weather reset to clear sky, still doing the same S turn, no FSUIPC either. Finger crossed the root of the problem can be found and solved soon. Sounds like the hotfix announced by RSR is not happening yet.

  12. Everybody can use the same activation code on 2 computers simultaneously so if you open the FMC, PMDG setup, then press deactivation on your old computer (while connected to the internet) before you "throw it away", when your new one arrives you can easily activate it without hassle.

Of course, if your existing computer has a sudden death you can't deactivate it and may run out of quota.

Hope this helps. BTW, if may also be a good habit to wipe your hard disk of sensitive personal data before your upgrade.

    Francis

  13. You can just use the new VHHH as default destination, insert the CH VOR after TH and fly the IGS approach using HDG SEL and manually tune the KL IGS on FMC as 111.9/089 the SL NDB is still in FSX so you can manually tune 268.

    Francis

  14. I post the question here since a T7 flight is usually longer. What happen when we fly through the end of an AIRAC cycle? E.g. current AIRAC 1406 ends on Jun 25 at 0000Z? and at the time while in air, will the FMC auto switch to AIRAC 1407? If that is the case, the FMC would have 2 cycles in her memory right? What happen if a waypoint has changed from 1 cycle to the next? Name may change, actual location may change and sometimes deleted.

BTW, how is the database updated in real life? It has to be done every 2 weeks on all fleet aircrafts.
