PMDG: Thrrottle fails after C&D startup
Doug Pelton replied to Doug Pelton's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
The throttles do work in other Saved flights. I brought up a Tutorial flight at Pushback (engines running) and it works. But when I shut down the engines and restart(following the manual steps) the configuration doesn't 'take'. Engines spool up and take the fuel, but when I advance the throttle....nada. Doug -

Makes sense. Will get to it next week. Thanks Ralgh. Doug -
PMDG: Thrrottle fails after C&D startup

Thanks, for responding, Dan. No, not using FSUIPC to calibrate. I load a saved flight and the throttle is working. I know it's some very small thing! Doug -
Never had this problem before. Now, I pushback, start engines (Bleed on...Packs off).Move throttle forward(tHRUSTMASTER) but engines won't spool. Calibrate Thrttle. but same problem. Using manual for startup. Doug

A real-time 737 pilot, who instructs now (as I understand it)...has this video on how his company does start up from C&D. Thought it useful. Doug Pelton

You've already followed all of the recommendations in the PMDG Introduction manual? If not, you need to start there; also, find out what programs are running in the background (try Alt-Control-Del to bring up the Task Manager). But, yes, more info on your CPU etc. Doug Pelton

Ivor, make sure the Packs are back on Off before starting, as the pressure is needed for engine start---have missed this one on many times myself! Doug Pelton

It sounds like a joystick calibration is needed. Either from the Fsx menu...or on the joystick itsekf. Doug Pelton

FMC causes FSX Key Assignments unworkable.

Too many synapses going on trying to run this beautiful machine! Doug -

Eureka!!! Thanks, Mike, for your 'obvious' insight!! Doug Pelton -
FMC: I enter Pos...then Company Route, but then all FSX Key Assignments unworkable thereafter---even Shift 3 doesn't close FMC. The Joystick Hat does move view, though. Setup: * Windows 7 * FSX Steam * PMDG 737800 winglets - C&D After I switch on... * Battery * Align * APU * Shift 3 to bring up FMC Is this a FSUIPC conflict? I did dump the FSUIPC4 .ini file as suggested in Intro manual. Doug Pelton

I'm really out of my realm of experience with this one.... I run PMDG, Rex Soft Clouds and Textures and AS16. I don't know about Admin being a problem. Here's how I start my apps: * Click on Rex Direct Textures. Once I select my theme, then it 'defaults' and asks if I want to start FSX from Rex...I do, and select and voila! FSX Steam window opens...Before I select my flight, I start AS16---not via Admin---and then bring up my flight. ASN thunders and I know it's up and connected, checking to make sure it is live and not manual---you've done this. Starting from Rex probably isn't a solution, but I'm familiar with the flow from that point on. It sounds like maybe an archived ASN file is coming up every time you fly. Maybe, reinstall AS16. Doug

PMDG 737 NGX LAGING ON HIGH SPEC PC.
Doug Pelton replied to kaktus3333's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
Must start with the Intro Manual. It covers settings to use to maximize performance. Frankly your PC seems Aokay to deliver...in my opinion. (Also the forum does require all of had to use first and last names.) Doug Pelton -
Vaughn, did you press Hold on the FMC? Doug Pelton

This is unrelated to the fsx.exe problem...but may be useful for GF MCP once you are up and running......... Do you have the interface tool? Download the Go Flight Interface Tool (GIT) (@$25) and it will talk to PMDG, including setting up Simconnect. Everytime you start PMDG, you do have to activate the GIT . Go Flight has 3 videos on linking their hardware to PMDG. Doug Pelton

Daniel, your enthusiasm is certainly felt. But you'd be better served by exploring, first, the manuals: Start with the Introduction---we all want to get right down to it, but, truly, this software is so rich in detail that you'll short-change yourself by not going through the manuals. Tutorial #1, for example, can help you with your first flight setup. Sure, you can download a Company-stored flight via the FMC in PMDG, but you'll never have the chance to internalize all the steps, operations and joy of this software. My two-bits. Doug Pelton

I think the manual says to use the FSX setup for any throttle gear...and not Fsuipc. Doug Pelton

Thanks for this. The 737 having similiar problem...operator error.

Couldn't replicate problem in the air. Started from C&D ...seems the alarm comes on after the APU is on ...engines running....but I forgot to switch on the APU generators. That changed the dashes to numbers in the overhead! Doug Pelton
