  1. Ray, I am American of proud Scottish heritage. My comment is based on economics as I am also an accountant. I am guessing Leftis Kalamaris wants to make a profit. They have already been working on the Concorde for around three years and apparently would have trouble getting it finished in the time before MS comes out with this new flightsim. The Concorde is likely to be expensive, probably more so than the A320 which limits the market and it's been what, 10 years since the Concorde flew? No doubt there are many that are passionate about it. I hated to see the MD-80 go. This is all supposition and conjecture and most importantly one man's opinion. But if I was Leftis, it might be a good opportunity to cut my losses. Regards, Jeff Callender
  2. Convenient reason to can the Concorde project.......which the longer it takes, the less relevant it is.
  3. Looks like it will be web based and possibly tied to XBox. Reminiscent of that one they did - was it Flight? That was a flop.
  4. Purely economics, I'm sure, For some developers, it is more cost effective to leave the selling to a re-seller such as Simmarket than to maintain an e-commerce site with the attendant liabilities and headaches. Thankfully in a more or less free-market world, we have the option to choose.
  5. And I for one am excited about fixing the velocity and timing of the particle emitter. Jeff Callender
  6. I don't understand it, either. I honestly have lost track of what to tweak or not tweak, so all of the .cfg files are pretty stock. I'm going to take this opportunity to do a complete reinstall and re-read of Rob's P3D Tweaking guide and Poppet's various instructions. Looking forward to the result, though!
  7. I finally got tired of 15 to 20 fps in P3D. I have bought the RTX2080ti, upgrading from a GTX1080. I have an i7-8700K with SSD's and 16gb. I fly with all the usual suspects, PMDG, FSL, ORBX, FSDT, LatinVFR, Chaseplan, GSX, ActiveSky. My performance is respectable, but can't break out of the 10 to 20 FPS range. So I decided to go for it and bought the Gigabit 2080ti Gaming OC vid card. I think that will give me some FPS insurance for the next several years. I only ask that you don't tell my wife. I'm just going to say "Oh, that's just some stuff for my computer." I'll let you know how it goes..... Jeff Callender
  8. Wow, $139 for the Bluetooth version is a steal. I think I paid $199 for the wired version about 10 years ago. Jeff Callender
  9. I've had them about 10 years, love them. I had the Bose companions before that and they were great, but I prefer the Klipsch for music as well as sim play.
  10. Where do you get V2 and is it a comp upgrade for current owners? I didn't see it on Aerosoft. I bought mine at Simmarket. Jeff Callender
  11. Keven definitely wins the all time support award combined with a fantastic suite of products.
  12. Make a small investment in X-Camera. It has the capabilities of Chaseplane and much much more. Keyboard assignments are very easy. Wouldn't be a problem at all to assign the "a" and "s" keys to advance views. At the same time, you can setup many categories of views, each with it's own set of cameras.
  13. I have problem I've never had before. I have a CH Products yoke and for some reason the throttle lever has become disconnected from the FFA320 throttles or FADEC. The yoke is mapped and calibrated properly and all appears to be in order. It is connected to throttles in all of the other aircraft in X-plane. I have made several flights in the FFA320 and the throttles worked exactly as they should have. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Jeff Callender
  14. I installed the "Alpha" version a week ago and my computer doesn't even show it as being installed. I paid for this THREE years ago and I sit and watch Milviz release many many new aircraft - except the one I paid for. Big disappointment.
  15. It's very powerful and somewhat complex if all you want is to startup a few programs with P3D. That being said it is an excellent program.
  16. I have mixed windows version on my home network and have no issues. No issues with P3Dv4 on Win1064. As long as you are on the same "Home Network", all works fine. Don't know about the Logitech device. The built in antivirus and firewalls with Win10 need some tweaks with certain add-ons.
  17. Yes, I run P3D with a second monitor on a i7-8770 and Geforce 1080, running another view. I find it cuts FPS by about 1/3 to 1/2.
  18. In Poppet's P3D tips and tricks, there is a post specifically about this topic. Jeff Callender
  19. I am reinstalling P3Dv4.2 and have encountered a very frustrating problem. Wondering if anyone has encountered similar problems. When unzipping the file or upon installation, winzip reports checksum and or/hash total errors and aborts the unzip or install process. I have tried downloading the files individually, I have used different pc's for the download, I have used different browsers for connecting to the P3D download site and initiating the download eliminating every combination of variables I can think of. When installing from the individually downloaded files, the installation fails - I tried both installing as an administrator and a regular double click install. All with the same result. I am using a fresh Winzip v22 and I have tried the native Microsoft Win 10 unzipper both with the same result. In the past have been a user Starting with P3D v1.x and never had any sort of issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated Jeff Callender
  20. Going on three years now if not more since I paid for this aircraft....no matter how you cut it, that's excessive and outside the bounds of reason. Jeff Callender
  21. They would developed some less sophisticated, more "game-playing" and more appealing to a broader market. They are about making a profit, after all. With P3D, my feeling is that we are the incidental beneficiaries of the development of a product intended for government and large market training needs. XP11 is a labor of love on the part of many, but also has a large market training base.
  22. Are you using Chaseplane? That has an option to default to an outside view if no keyboard activity above 18,000 feet. Jeff Callender
  23. It was formerly 12R/30L. They were renamed a couple of years ago, XP may not be updated. Jeff Callender - home base KSAT
