Hi guys,
I am having issues with certain sceneries from FSX. For example, SimGiants GCFV scenery has a mesh of the island, but it isn't getting loaded. I am just getting the default P3D mesh (too much grass on a volcanic island doesn't look that great to be honest), and black taxiways in certain places. Any known fix for this?

Hi there,
I have fixed this error a year or so ago, and my FSX has been stable since. However, after I installed SkyHighSim's Belgrade, and Mega Airport Brussels X tonight, I have crashed twice with the BEX error; on ground in Belgrade (after which I deinstalled LYBE), and in the air 30 minutes into the flight to Brussels from Berlin Schonefeld.
I have fixed this issue before by setting "System Managed Size" in Memory Settings under Advanced System Settings in Windows 7, but it seems that this fix wasn't definate. I also use DX10, but before installing EBBR and LYBE, it worked fine; could that be the culprit?

I haven't, no. I just installed them and launched NGX DEFAULT panel state. I noticed it after setting up the aircraft for departure, it could have been there longer.
-
Yes, I installed them using the Livery Manager.

Hi there,
I'm experiencing a very strange bug after installing some Ryanair liveries from the AVSIM library. My ground power unit is connected to the plane, but all the options in Ground Connections are off. Likewise, if I fiddle with plane options inside the FMC setup screen, for example if I enable the SATCOM antenna, nothing happens. Another option toggles it. And the eyebrow windows option toggles the ground power unit. Any ideas? I'm confused. Loading different panel states do not seem to solve the issue either, and nor does a restart or a reboot. It happens on all liveries of the PMDG product now. I am using SP1c.

Hi there,
I have been leading my own VA, flyeuro.com for the past 1.5 years. It is a relatively short amount of time I imagine compared to some of larger VAs who have existed for more than 10 years, but I am already running out of patience. While I am a very patient man, the fact is, VAs are not easy to run. I accepted this challenge right at the start, and until now, my virtual airline is quite successful at achieving what I set out to do. "To create a realistic simulation of a low-cost airline in Europe". However, while we are achieving this objective, we cannot fulfill the activity in terms of pilots. We have established ourselves as a solid airline, but pilots just register, and usually never return. Some do a flight or two, and never return. Some of them stay, and fly for a longer period, however even they get bored, and leave eventually. They usually get replaced by another regular pilot...
I like to be a personal critic and change and upgrade things as I go, however I strongly believe that this VA has very few shortcomings. I have analyzed this today quite rationally, and arrived to multiple conclusions. The website offers almost everything, and is simple to use. No offence but 80% of the websites I see make me vomit. The other minority belong to professional airlines, who as said above existed for a long time. We have a fleet model which supports both realism and variety. During our time, we have been made official by VATSIM, IVAO and even recognized by VATEUD but to name a few. We have also partnered up with organizations to offer discounts. We have invested in a Custom ACARS software, and invested into different servers to create subsidiary airlines, to add variety. We have also recently rolled out a mobile website, to satisfy mobile users.
Our operations offer more than a 1000 routes from 16 European hubs, across 10 countries, with a fresh low-cost livery, and extensive support for payware and freeware liveries. We also update our network every two months, with new hubs and destinations, withdrawing those underperforming bases. In my humble opinion, I don't think any fictional VA would do this.
In terms of marketing, we always inform our users of new updates on social feeds such as Twitter and Facebook. We have done promotional video campaigns, posted adverts, and nothing truely seems to attract regularity from pilots. We even had regular VATSIM/IVAO events, and a Training Academy but they were ceased due to lack of interest from pilots.
None of these benefits or methods attract more attention. While the activity is there, it does not ever peak. Fourty or so pilots (out of 250 we have) stay regular, and fly at least once per 30 days. However, you don't see more than 5-6 flights a day. While I will never change this, I feel dissapointed by the fact that everyone seems to flock to real virtual airlines, often their favourites in real life, while missing the potential of fictional airlines.
I do understand that there are a lot of VAs with the same issue, and we are not alone probably. Although I do not want to speak too highly of my VAs image, I believe I have done a lot with my staff team to create a professional image, and yet there is no major activity. I think we deserve better, and I'm sure there are other VAs out there who do so too. But now, I do ask you professionals, other VA leaders, enthuasists... Is there anything that I am missing from success of my virtual airline? Are there any other ways from the ones that I've mentioned to get noticed?
You can visit it here, and judge it for yourselves: http://flyeurova.com/index.php/. I would massively appreciate your opinions. Too much effort and investment went into it, just to let it go. This post may also seem like a one big advertisement, and if it is, great. But on the contrary, it is rather a cry for advice.
Perhaps for someone outside of the airline, it might be easier to spot the drawbacks.
Kind Regards -
Priding ourselves of being one of a few virtual Avro RJ85 operators...
Note: This is a press release for an airline subsidiary at flyeuro.com dated 08/06/2014. Recruitment for new members is open at http://britain.flyeurova.com. Once registered, the member will be also registered on our flyeuro.com and blueArrow CARGO services.
Don't they all look beautiful? Take them on a spin today!

One year ago, our staff team envisaged a brand new concept of a regional low-cost airline. Inspired by the real counterpart flybe, the new concept was added to inspire variety at flyeuro. On this day, a year ago, flybritain was in final planning stages, and released to over 80 of our pilots at the time on June 14th, 2013. The launch was so successful, that our daily PIREPs doubled. It brought our old Total PIREPs per day record from 26 up to a whooping 59! At least 75% of the operations have been conducted under the flybritain's flag during the first week of operations. We even had the cheek to come up with a slogan (that didn't make it as our final one of course!) of "Your only virtual alternative to flybe!".
Sadly, something changed. Now flybritain accounts for merely 9% of our total operations. It was time to act. For the first time, the changes were mostly inspired by the choices of our community. You have had the say towards the changes at flybritain. Essentially, without you, flybritain would not exist.
Therefore, to celebrate one year anniversary of this fabulous concept, we bring you two new aircrafts. Embraer E175 and DHC-6 Twin Otter. The first will be a modern alternative to our aging Avro RJ85 aircraft, one of which will be retired. However, we still want to be unique by being one of the very few virtual airlines to operate this aircraft type. Amongst these two aircraft types, we bring you a new flybritain hub at Belfast City with 18 new routes across the network, and 10 new destinations to places like Linkoping, Barra, Sumburgh, Caen and more!
Beside these changes, we have also reviewed our mainstream division, and retired Sofia and Lanzarote hubs. We have introduced their replacements: Vienna and Oslo Rygge / Moss. Another review is up in August, where we will be retiring another underperforming hubs to keep the network fresh and updated. Additionally, in March we have severely limited our staff team and our staff meetings, and established a core management structure of a few dedicated staff members and founders. These people have always worked extremely hard for the success of the airline. And now, we want to increase the user feedback and interaction, as you are what makes us!
I do hope that this update will increase your interest for both flybritain and flyeuro. A full list of changes can be viewed below:

Welcome to flybritain, a subsidiary airline of flyeuro and a British regional low-cost airline, operating out of hubs at London City and Manchester. We value time, safety, comfort and cheap fares.
Launched in June 2013, flybritain operates a regional fleet of iconic BAe/Avro RJ aircrafts and modern Bombardier Dash 8 turboprop aircrafts, flybritain offers a wide variety of connections to countries like Wales, Scotland, France, Germany and the countries of the Benelux - Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. flybritain also operates frequent business shuttles to Zurich and Luxembourg out of London City hub.
In January 2014, flybritain will receive an overhaul. Due to low amount of interest and traffic, Edinburgh's hub turned out to be improfitable for the company and will be closed. However we're looking for pilot feedback. We want to hear from you what would make flybritain perfect - where you'd like to fly from and to...

Hi,
As in the title, I cannot hear any callouts or sounds while using headphones. I can hear the engine sound, but I can't hear any callouts, or comms from the pushback system. This does not happen on speakers, where I can hear all sounds okay. Any ideas what could be wrong, and whether there is a fix?

After the heatwaves invaded Britain over the last few weeks, its time to bring in a breeze of refreshing wind into flyeuro.
We're proud to roll out our major low-cost division overhaul. We've listened to our pilots during our Public Meeting, and we're adding what our pilots, to give them choice, flexibility and moreover the ultimate satisfaction with their flyeuro experience. With deep regret, we have retired two, underperforming hubs, however this move was inevitable in our need to improve and expand. Hubs at East Midlands Airport and Budapest Airport have been officially closed.
This does however open a new chapter in the airline's history, as we are expanding in our primary markets in Poland, Netherlands, Germany and Spain, giving our pilots more routes and destinations to visit. As of immediate notice, our pilots can now enjoy flights from four new hubs; Frankfurt in Germany, Rotterdam in Netherlands, Barcelona in Spain and Gdansk in Poland. With Barcelona and Frankfurt as hubs, we'd like to give passengers the ability to reach the big cities faster than before. This is relatively new to our strategy, and over the next few months, we would like at least 10-15% of our operations to be flown into bigger airports, closer to big cities. To take this strategy and develop it further, flights to Stockholm will now operate to and from Stockholm's main airport, Arlanda.
We've listened to our members, and we've been making changes that suit you, and make you happy at flyeuro. As of immediate notice, pilots can also enjoy brand new, shining Airbus A320 aircraft out of our German hub in Frankfurt. There is a limited number of these aircrafts available, as we'd like to maintain a reflection of a realistic low-cost model, but the choice is now better than ever before.
We have also raised our standards in terms of our Staff Team, and we have reopened all applications for our Staff Team. Beware though, the requirements are challenging. And finally, we've launched a few new destinations from London Gatwick, and from London City. You will find more information below.Join us today at www.flyeurova.com today and help us "become Europe's favourite low-cost virtual airline!"

Important Notes
Airbus A320 - Terms & Conditions
It is required to fly the aircraft that is specified on the schedule. If the schedule specifies Airbus A320, you must fly this specific aircraft on this route. No exceptions will be made, and all PIREPs with other aircrafts flown will be automatically rejected without prior reasoning.
Do not conduct any online operations if you are unfamiliar with your aircraft. Flying the flyeuro callsign, you are representing the airline's good image. Once you are familiar with your aircraft choice, we strongly encourage you to join into online operations.
There are no rank restrictions for the Airbus A320-232 aircraft, and can be flown from Graduate rank upwards.
Activity Policy
We have updated the Pilot Handbook, and we will become as mentioned above stricter on inactivity. Pilots who do not file PIREPs in the required amount of time will be now automatically deleted from our system. You need to file at least a single PIREP every 30 days. We can exempt selected members from this scheme at our discretion.

Hi there,
There's no end to my issues with the 737, and I'm evidently still learning Today, after takeoff, I was climbing with LNAV and VNAV onto FL370. The maximum FMC could handle was FL378, so I entered 37000 ft in the INIT REF page, activated and departed. I began to climb, everything was fine, AP activated, it was going all damn smooth. Eventually at around TOC, speed started to fall until I received BUFFET ALERT.
Presumably, there has been a lot of topics about the buffet alert, fine, but why does my speed fall to a critical 170kts and below when I did absolutely nothing different to my previous flights where the VNAV has been functioning properly? The wind is also null, 0kts, and I'm wondering what I could be doing wrong, and how can I fix my probably terrible and simple PMDG mistakes? I'm fed up flying at 230kts, with speed dropping 99% of the time, while maintaining my altitude with no winds.
-
I don't think I do, because I don't even know where to check it in the first place :L Could you please give me any pointers as to how I could verify that? Cheers.
-
The thing is, I have a default Heathrow scenery. I assume that can't be disabled, can it? Haha.
I've noticed this cockpit reload happen at other places too, just not when I was on finals at Gatwick, it happened at gate, taxi... And it lagged.
-
Hi there,
I had this bizarre issue while approaching Gatwick today at VATSIM, and landed a bit rough because of a small slow down on finals. Basically, I was flying at sunset and as it happens, PMDG likes for some reason to refresh panels at night. They basically turn off for a second and turn on again, almost looking like a refresh of the dials and such. Unfortunately, this causes a lag and it only happens at night. I'm not sure if anyone experienced this, but is there a way to avoid this from happening? It just incredibly ruins your landing

Our promotional video for 2013 is now online. We have worked hard to illustrate the beauty of virtual aviation, and now the promotional video is complete. An almost 5 minute long video is accompanied by Above & Beyond's inspiring instrumental single "Sun In Your Eyes". The film illustrates clips of our fleet at different airports, and when it's in air in some of the most beautiful European locations we cover; Canary Islands, Bergen, Innsbruck, Croatia and many more.
Feel inspired or interested to take your virtual career a step further? Don't let it waste - join us at http://flyeurova.com today!

I have resolved some of the issues, however some still exist, and I'm finding a refund might be necessary, it is a hard software to set up. Before I'll do that though, I'm convinced that the brilliancy of this addon can still be unleashed entirely.
Now I have this issue, where if I switch a view, and I can't work out when or at what stage, since no pattern seems to follow, mouse look appears to be jammed on for no reason. The issue is, I haven't enabled it on the button. Even disabling and enabling EZCA doesn't resolve the problem. Basically, FSX is unbearable with this...

flyeuro.com is proud to announce that it will run special charter flights for passengers to attend A State Of Trance 600 events in Minsk, Sofia, Beirut and Den Bosch - an official partnership to spread the love for music on the virtual airways...
After months and months of speculations, anticipation and campaigning, Armin van Buuren, a popular international DJ finally reveals the first dates and cities of the A State of Trance 600 world tour in 2013! From February till March 2013, ‘The Expedition’ tour will touch down in cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Beirut, Den Bosch, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and New York.
And this is where we step in to help Armin! Our especially painted G-ASOT Boeing 737-800 for the occasion has already been popular with the fans of the 'A State of Trance' radio show, receiving almost 7,000 likes on it's Facebook page. However, we're handing the G-ASOT into the hands of our pilots, to carry the radio show flag across Europe on four iconic routes over these upcoming months.
During March, Armin van Buuren with his leading radio show will visit the European continent, and cities of Minsk and Sofia during one weekend. The tour will then head east into Beirut, a bit out of Europe, however a 737-800 is capable of reaching Beirut, and so we can't miss the opportunity to be there! The tour will conclude with the tour's biggest party in Den Bosch, Netherlands, a month later.
Pilots can fly these flights online, as well as offline. Pilots who attend at least two flights will receive the ASOT Tour badge.
The schedule is as follows:
- FE600M - Thursday, March 7th - Liverpool-Minsk
>> Sofia flights can be flown as on the schedule, on Friday, 8th March.
- FE600B - Saturday, March 9th - London Gatwick-Beirut
>> Eindhoven flights can be flown as on the schedule, on Saturday, 6th April.
Come along and join us at: http://flyeurova.com. The registration is simple and straightforward, and there's no internal exams - come and fly, it's all about simplicity...

If you actually read the manual included with EZCA, you would see why you are having this problems.
Like dcgator29 says, EZCA takes almost total control over the camera system in FSX so you have to disable all of the default keys and buttons for panning your view around (default space, as well as the hat switch on your joystick or yoke)
I figured that out. I just cant see the space button mapped in FSX, could you point me towards which one I should remove? And for me anyway, EZdok poses the biggest issue with FSRecorder, and it is not mentioned anywhere how to work around it.
-
Hi there,
I am having some moments of frustration (mind you, I'm used to these around FSX *sarcasm*) with EZdok camera, as I can't get some of the things to work. I like EZdok for it's dynamic camera system, but the setting up of it is rather difficult I was wondering how I could fix these:
1. When I press and hold SPACE, I can look around with my cursor. But almost about a second as soon as I stop moving my cursor, while still holding down the space button, the view changes back to the default. Default being where it was before I moved the camera. Is it supposed to do this? Or is it supposed to stay where I stopped moving? I tried to disable Middle Mouse Button in the settings, and that worked with the space button, but after unpausing, it would just send always the camera into the pilot's seat and you could not move it. It would change it back to the default again - this case, the seat
2. When I press SPACE in for example outside view using EZdok, the view returns back to the cockpit, and I can't figure out why?
3. I'm trying to use EZdok with FSRecorder to shoot videos. Trouble is, I usually do it through playback, and the keys largely interfere with the controls. I noticed that in FSRecorder you can't change PageUp and PageDown, buttons which basically move the stages of the recording. You can in EZdok however, so I went and changed it to Numpad buttons - it wouldn't work. I changed it to Shift+PageUp and Shift+PageDown, still, didn't work. Confusing and annoying. How can I compromise between the two?
4. In the spot view outside when using the middle mouse button, I can turn the camera sideways but I can't pan it up and down at all. Any offers?

Hi,
I have an issue with blurry ground textures. It seems that it happens not only to me, but plenty of others, however I just can't get my head round why it's still blurry after all of the changes I've applied.
I installed FSX and followed Word Not Allowed's guide. Unfortunately, I was a bit stupid to install FSX on the SSD, rather than the system, but that's a story for another time. I set up cfg first using Bojote's tweaker, and it produced similar results. I was then referred to NickN's guide which I read through a few times, and decided to go for some tweaks with Word Not Allowed's guide beside.
And this is how it looks with all the changes applied It's utterly disgraceful for a quad core system, I think.
My system specs:
Intel i5-3570K @ 4.5GhZ | Gigabyte Z77-D3H DDR3 | ASUS GeForce GTX 560 1GB GDDR5 850MhZ OC | 8GB RAM Corsair Vengeance DDR3 (2x4GB) 1600MhZ | 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue 3.5' 7200RPM | 120GB Corsair SSD Force Series 3 | Creative SoundBlaster Audigy SB Soundcard | Noctua NH-D14 Cooler
For addons I run Ground Environment X Europe and REX Overdrive. Even the water looks awful on REX, with it being on absolute maximum.
Steps I took:
1 >> Ran bojote's tweak. It made the following changes:
Congratulations! you have an optimal AffinityMask value!
Congratulations! you already have HIGHMEMFIX set!
You are running with frame rates set to unlimited, great! but MAKE SURE you use the 'external' frame rate limiter set to 'exactly' 30 FPS for optimal results. You can download it here
Congratulations! your TextureMaxLoad is set to an optimal value!
Congratulations! You already have an optimal SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT value.
Your have an optimal SmallPartRejectRadius value!
Your RejectThreshold value needs adjusting!
Your Cloud draw distance is set above 70nm, try using an external weather program to limit visibility and set your cloud draw distance 10nm UNDER this visibility for optimal horizon cloud blend.
Consider removing your FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION *IF* you experience micro-stutters.
You are using a non standard Texture Size! we'll skip this option and leave it unchanged.
MAKE SURE to disable Transparency Anti-aliasing for improved smoothness with your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 card.
MAKE SURE to disable Transparency Anti-aliasing for improved smoothness with your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 card.
2 >> Edited the fsx.cfg to change/add following values
Texture_max_load=2048
Texture_bandwidth_mult=70
AffinityMask=14
MipBias=6
3 >> I have set up NVIDIA Inspector according to Word Not Allowed's settings in his guide.
I'm hoping someone will have some useful suggestions for me to try
Thank you

I mean no disrespect, but I must be blunt here by saying you're doing it all wrong. LNAV and VNAV are not meant to be "turned off" during normal operations, but rather should be replaced by different roll and pitch modes as required by the phase of flight you're in and what you're trying to accomplish. For instance, LNAV should be changed to HDG SEL prior to localizer intercept, followed by localizer capture using the VOR/LOC roll mode. Likewise, VNAV segues into the use of LVL CHG (although not strictly necessary), after which APP mode is armed, the glideslope is intercepted, and the G/S pitch mode is activated. This is but one example out of many possibilities, but the basic tenet remains: do not switch off AFDS modes by pressing the associated MCP buttons.
Did you read and fly both NGX tutorials, may I ask? A lot of these concepts are explained clearly and concisely in those two documents, and I'd strongly suggest giving them a go if you haven't done so already. Good luck!
I read them, however I didn't attempt flying them yet. What steps are therefore ideal to take if I want to fly using autopilot, but land and approach manually with A/T on? Is there a section that focuses on something like this in the tutorial?
-
What I've tried is keeping AP awake, with A/T on, but turning off LNAV and VNAV. It worked rather well, but I noticed it would not go down at a certain altitude, and I can't remember what it was. I had 2000 ft on the altitude knob, but ALT HOLD or LVL CHG were not enabled, unless AP is told not to go down past the specified altitude? I had to just kick it off the AP with joystick input and pitch the nose down a bit to return to the glideslope, but all in the end went well.
Which is rather weird, because the A/T was on, and although the AP was on, it was later turned off by joystick input, and following that theory, as said above, approach and landing must be made fully AP or fully manual, which wasn't the case this time round, and it did fine.

Is there any way to solve this then? I'd much prefer to see custom scenery than default ground textures.
