Weren't you building your own quality computer for the 4090? I assume this pre-built purchase was in slight 4090 desperation? Sad to say I was right, scalpers were(are) out in full force. <sigh> I tire of lack of availability of products.

Must be nice <jealous>. Zero Best Buys in my area had any in store at opening time. I had the guy check, matter of fact, no stores got shipped any at all. So much for 'plenty available'. I stopped at 2 stores. Salesman at 2nd store help me order a PNY 4090 that 'should' arrive the 14th. I'm not getting my hopes up. Better than a paper launch but not by much IMO.

Like Fielder in a salesman way says, no. A 1080 will work but many details will have to be lowered. Get a 3080 or higher IMO.

Strange the DLSS-Q numbers are lower. Shouldn't they be higher? Or maybe it should be a 3080ti instead of 4090?

Trying to find how readable cockpit gauges are but if the numbers in this image are an indicator, there is work to be done yet with that frame rate boost tech.

Funny I never noticed this before but if I do a Shift M for battery there is no switch click. Use the mouse to toggle the battery switch instead and you get a click. This seems to be normal with FSX. Is there any confirmed way to have all regular lever, knob and switch activations make a sound when using keyboard shortcuts? I've tried using cockpitsounds_v2.zip, that works but it then adds a double click sound when using the mouse.

Jim's MCX pictures are of the exterior model, not the VC. We need to change the VC not the exterior. To see the VC in ModelConverterX go to Options, then click on Importer options. Now you can use the Material Editor, with a check in "Highlight selected", to determine the window material is 7FCCCCCC. That is the hexadecimal equivalent of the values you see for the Diffuse color, which is 127,204,204,204. Those values are for Alpha, Red, Green, Blue. With the TU-114 I have gotten rid of bounce by greatly increasing the MOI values in the aircraft.ini file.

Man, I searched heavily and this thread you shared never came up. All about the words used. Grrr. Thank you kindly, I'll give this a go when I get home from work.

On to the next problem, I've tried tons of DX10Controller settings to no avail. I've even converted all the textures to DXT5 to no avail. I'm finding it very hard to tell what this plane uses for a texture for the cockpit windows. Btw, I've installed the default rain40 file so the Rain button is no longer greyed out. Suggestions?
