  1. On install, I had the umbrella rain40.fx fixed file already installed. I replaced it with the original file. Is there now a way to enable the rain/snow functions within the Fixer? Thanks. Edit: Also, is there a way to remove the special install 'reflective' texture. Its causing wings to look rainbow/oily and I think I'd prefer an unshiny texture. Thanks again.
  2. I have disable Ezdok in the exe.xml with 'true' and the same occurs using the default FSX camera/view systems.
  3. For myself, indeed I do know better. I'm still happy with FSX ,so LOL yes, offline looks awesome to me!
  4. The reason is I fly on my laptop alot in my cabin up north. There is zero internet at this woods cabin, but there is power and water.
  5. Thank you for the information!! And this fact will prevent me from buying this product until full offline is functional like most Steam games.
  6. >To be honest I wouldn't bother anyway, it looks hideous 100% offline. That's why I still have p3d installed!.. ^^^ Unless something has drastically change, this is BS. Reviews show the game looks great Offline. So not a sole in here is willing to try it? Please unplug the network cable, boot up the PC and see what happens when you try to do a flight in FS2020?
  7. I didn't find any mention here or in the manual of VC shadow glitches or disappearing VC shadows in the main window if new view windows are created but that is what I'm getting. If I undock it and put the new view onto my 2nd monitor, the main screen VC shadows correct themselves once I change to a new Ezdok VC position. I'm guess this is just a matter of nothing is perfect nature of the beast? I need to ask in case there is a setting that could alleviate this as I often fly with a 2nd viewport in the corner of the main 4k screen.
  8. I've found a few things. First is RTFM and this quoted bit helped me along---> "Any missing or transparent components up to and including the whole aircraft are almost certainly caused by 8 bit textures." It had something to do with the FS8 reflection texture loading before or after the plane texture AND not being compatible with it in some way. I used Dxtbmp.exe to examine the particular transparent cockpit texture file and it was in a 16bit(555) format where all the others were in a different format. I used imagetool.exe command line commands to change it to 16bit DXT5 and voila, textures appear normally again. I'm still not done testing all environment and condition settings (night, weather, lights on/off, etc) but this is progress. word not allowed I spent alot of time figuring this out. I can already see there are unrealistic shadows and some sort of shadow circle around the camera viewpoint in the passenger interior areas of the plane. Most easily notice when mouse looking and moving around in the interior areas with Ezdok.
  9. Just purchased both products, great overall. Using the latest Ready for Pushback plane it has nice shadows and outside textures now but is missing the floor (and some wall) textures in both the cockpit and pax areas. ie I can see the tarmac surface and airport vehicles from different interior cameras. Floor textures showed up properly without DX10 Fixer. The Fixer added shadows and outside plane texture but I lost interior floor texture. Yes, I have most settings On as that is why I bought this Fixer for more and better graphics. Turning Off the various FSX menu shadow options did not resolve the issue. Suggestions?
  10. Early reports were that no matter what you had to be online to START the game, but once started, offline play could commence. Is this still true or can you be completely offline from the very beginning i.e. from powering on of the PC?
  11. FlyTampa is $18, Aerosoft is $25. Comment or suggestions on what to expect from each? Frame rate hit? Outside of airport detailed?
  12. TONS of supposed 'solutions' but no causation reason or guaranteed correction process. Regardless of any fsx items this occurs with, is there any 100% verified uncompromising fix to repair a jumping/bouncing around on the airport grounds airplane? Thanks for any knowledgeable help.
  13. But why Ewing? What does Ewing stand for? Sexy video but no clue what it has to do with my query?
  14. Pretty much Topic. What and why is this in the sim?
  15. There are quite a few high quality freeware planes out there: Tu-154B-2, Tu-134A-3, Tu-134, Tu-114 and Tu-144D Anyone know which is the closest to A2A quality? I guess a payware would be fine too but it for sure would need to be better than the freeware ones. Also would be nice if it had an English manual and translated VC labels? 🙂 Thanks.
  16. Old thread, I wonder if there is an easy way to use FSUIPC to view these panels >9? Edit: Pete being Pete above was a bit terse. His more helpful solution is here: https://forum.simflight.com/topic/57009-panels-and-fsuipc/ "Use the [in FSUIPC 'Control sent when keys press'] "Panel id toggle" (or the separate open and close) control, with the parameter equal to the ID [1001 below] of the panel. The panel ID is found in the panel.cfg file as the parameter "ident=" in the relevant [WindowN] section. [Window09] file_1024=2DS/FUEL_DUMP.BMP Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=637,961 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0 visible=0 ident=1001 window_size= 0.200, 0.500 window_pos= 0.800, 0.010 zorder=1"
  17. After much searching, I believe you are correct, there is no VC for the steam gauge Polsky 747. There is a glass VC addon for the Polsky 747-400 however.
  18. One added note, if you plan to do VR, you'll want the 4080. Unless you go with a low res VR headset then it doesn't matter.
  19. That is a 747-400. I should of mentioned looking for steam gauge only 747.
  20. The 3090 is way over price still. Prices will do nothing but continue to drop every day as we near the 4080 release. Being near a huge release like this, I would hold off on any purchases. Save your money and enjoy the large performance and efficiency gain from the 4080 when it hits. As far as price, without mining, IMO there is no way they will ask more than ~$1300 for a 4080.
  21. Old thread...I'm looking for an old 747 and I find it a crime we still don't have a study level steam gauge 747. Maybe FS2020 will get one and we all could look forward to that.
  22. Just double checking. This is supposedly the best freeware 747. Is there no VC with this plane? Seems to be minimal 2D panels only.
  23. On older big prop planes, do you actually get up to speed in a shorter distance if you hold the brakes, rev up the engines then let go of the brakes? If one does, it must be negligible cause I certainly don't notice it.
  24. Does this plane (or any plane) do effects like this only better?
  25. Hahaha, well played. I like where your head is at. Hope no one in here knocks it off.
