  1. I have been saying this for over a year and a half now, P3D is the future right now unless 3 things happen...

    1. Microsoft under Bill Gates guidance gets back into the simulaton world, I would personally use the FLIGHT engine and make it a true simulator, save money have bad &@($* visuals and features, cuts development time down considerably. Also on this note, they should also take a look at how Lockheed Martin has cashed in on the 3rd party development teams, brilliant!

    2. X-Plane fixes their ugly issues with customization and really cleans up their user interface

    3. Another 3rd party company comes in from no where and blows away FSX, P3D, and X-Plane all in 1 sweep

  2. She may look fast but her VNE is Mach .70 or 275 KIAS, average cruise is about Mach .620-.675 at altitudes from FL320-FL400, a King Air 350i could get there within 10 minutes of the Phenom 100 and save about 30% or more fuel doing so. Other than that she is fun to fly and the controls are extremely smooth.

  3. We all know this but I think mid-level systems developer might be pushing it  :P

    Probably

And yet Flight 1 have managed to do a reasonably good job with the Citation Mustang and the King Air 200. Yes, I am sure the majority of features are not modeled but having the ability to update the navigation database to allow for WAAS and SID/STAR is of great benefit to those of use who fly online. Is this too much to ask from Carenado?

Wouldn't it be great if Carenado allowed us to plug the Mindstar G1000 into their planes in the same manner they allow RXP integration?  B)

I'm looking forward to the King Air as well but only because its one more hurdle to pass for them to release the Avanti II.

I agree a MindStar G1000 integration would be amazing, and I am not sure what kind of coding is involved with allowing an AIRAC NAV Update, perhaps that will be available in the future. As for me calling Carenado Mid Level Sim, I feel confident in that with at least their newer products, anything beyond a mid level is a bold faced lie on anyones part.

  4. Because Carenado do eyecandy and not accurate system modeling ?

This would be engine power modelling which they usually have pretty well done, it seems like this might be a bug, if Carenado does not fix it I will look into the CFG and edit where necessary if it is even possible to fix this issue without editing the .air file.

  5. There is supposed to be a bad &@($* A380 coming out soon, also I am not much of an Airbus guy myself, but some of the best airbus videos I have seen are all using the Airbus X Extended, and the systems in that seem to be pretty darn good!

  6. Despite my best efforts, I gave in and got the Phenom. I was not disappointed with the G1000 as my expectations were very low so to not waste time, I plugged in the RXP GNS530 after I installed the Phenom. That being said, she is a sexy plane and to my great surprise, she is very nice to hand fly. I have yet to try an ILS landing or have the AP fly a SID because its way too much fun to fly by hand.

What a difference in comparison to the TBM850.

There are some issues I've found so far such as both battery switches saying Switch 1 and the engine sounds in the cockpit seem a bit off as I cockpit sounds like the exhaust from the engines are inside. The engine sound is really annoying but other than that,

As a first effort with a jet, I'm pleasantly surprised and look forward to the updates for it.

If the Hawker flies as nicely as this, I may have to get it too.

Now, if they could only fix the TBM......

I agree with you that this is a step in the right direction for Carenado, especially considering this is their first jet, I was very apprehensive about this purchase, fi they release a few updates to correct some issues and perhaps add in a few extra details, this plane will easily be my favorite VLJ.

BTW perhaps a better informed person on the Phenom 100 can tell me this, why does this aircraft require 70-75% N1 to start taxi and 50-55% to maintain said taxi?

  7. What behavior are you seeing with the FADEC and FLC?

I've done a few test flights and haven't found anything to suggest that either system is present or functional.

FLC is set to SPD hold, thats pretty much it. I set the Indicated Speed and it held it quite well, even though moderate turbulence with ASN. As for FADEC it is quite basic and I am not sure if it had that much of an impact past being able to push a few softkeys on the G1000 to "simulate" it, as I stated its all very simple.

Again, this is Carenado NOT PMDG or RealAir, this is mid level systems, anyone expecting PMDG systems on a Carenado Aircraft needs to see a Clinical Psychologist.

  8.

    7rlo.png

Pushing back for the short hop to OSLO - and my first flight with ASN....cant wait ;)

I do not have the PMDG777, not really interested in Heavies or Super Heavies, however I do have ASN and 777 you will LOVE ASN, it perfectly compliments the 777 in terms of weather realism and it even comes with its own ATIS that gives you accurate weather!

    122.000 for Closest ATIS station

    122.025 for Destination ATIS

It also simulates Wake Turbulence very well as well as Turbulence, Storm Scud, Microbursts, Downdrafts, and Wind Shear watch those Charlie Bravo's!

  9. I can confirm there is a simple FADEC system in place and the FLC DOES WORK, used it on a flight from KATL -> KTPA, beautiful aircraft all around. However to my disappointment VNAV is INOP, but that just gives me more to do while climbing and descending and I am perfectly fine with that!

  10. That post was referring to Carenado's treatment of glass cockpits. Their steam gauge planes are just fine, especially the 337 and the C90 (I have both). The TBM and 182T were disappointing. Why do a glass cockpit if you're not going to make a reasonable facsimile?

Carenado is a mid level systems developer with a high focus on visual quality, this appeals to many in the FS community, I noticed the Eaglesoft and PMDG banners on your post, if you ever expect Careando to go to a systems level of PMDG you would need to see a clinical psychologist. The Garmin G1000 and Rockwell Collins ProLine 21 systems are impressive in RL, I know from experience (have a friend who flies a King Air 350i for a private company) and I have PIC time in a G1000 C172. To model everything that a G1000 or a PL21 has would take years and years of development and would destroy any PC running FS. I personally found the TBM850 to be a great rendition from Carenado, much better than the Wilco version which is the only direct competition to it. The best rendition of a G1000 comes from the MindStar G1000 and that took tons of time to develop and its sell point is still less than that of Carenado's aircraft. I am however looking forward to Milviz's King air 350i with the PL21 system, their attention to detail in visuals and systems is impressive and I think we can expect to see the gold standard in PL21 renditions from their KA350i.

  11. I think Lockheed Martin nailed the "DLC" issue on the head right where it needed to be, not where MS put Flight. MS should always provide the canvas and charge for the paint and brushes to the developers while providing them with support this is a very very successful system, if FS11 comes to fruition I hope this would be their business model. Another standard for FS11 should be DX12, with DX12 being applicable to over 70% of all DX11 capable video cards from Nvidia who has been working with MS on this, this would seem like the way to go business wise. The great thing about DX12 is not that it improves graphics quality slightly, but its drastically reduces CPU overhead and the API is more GPU dependent, this should help calm these nice Intel vs AMD arguments that plague the FS community and many other PC communities alike.

  12. Well Milviz, the KA350i will also be my first purchase from your studio, this is only due to my taste in specific aircraft. I almost purchased the B737-200C but I am not a fan of the old JT9D engines, I like the newer CFM-56's. Your KA350I has my money right now, and I am not looking back, I would also immediately purchase an ATR-72-600 if you ever made one of those.

  13. Couldn't have said it better. But the thing is, take a look at Carenado's Facebook page. Full of ###### who buy everything Carenado release.

Perhaps you tell me where I can get a nice Beechcraft 1900D for FSX then? If you suggest the PMDG B1900D I have it, and I think the Carenado one is WAY better (probably the only time you will ever hear me say that Carenado's product is better than PMDG's). Again Carenado makes aircraft that other developers do not dare to, so they are the market "guinea pig" if you will, if their product line is received well like their King Air series then it shows other developers where a market for an aircraft may lie. A2A looks at other companies sales, Milviz most certainly does this, and even PMDG takes this into consideration. If business jets from Carenado sell well enough it proves to others that there is a definitive market for them with ACTUAL SALES (which unlike polls and posts on forums and facebook pages actually has real value). So Carenado actually helps drive the FS community, they do not hinder it.

  14. I almost bought OPUS FSX,however when I saw the features that come with Active Sky Next I was floored then I tried the free 7 day full trial version and I was sold. I believe ASN to be the best WX engine ever designed for home use flight simulation. Just to add that ASN's free trial has NOTHING blocked its as if you bought the product, and it can be updated just like as if you bought the product. The only 2 things you need to use the 7 day trial are a valid E-Mail and your IP address and that's it.

  15. Not sure this should have been moved. It's not asking for support...

Milviz, by the way your King Air 350i looks BAD &@($*, it will replace both my King Airs from Carenado once it is released. One thing that has many people concerned is the frame rate impact from all the glass in the Rockwell Collins Proline-21 system, how are your testers reporting frame rates regarding this (if you can answer that of course)?

  16. I have it, considering its a G1000 its pretty smooth and for Carenado its pretty feature intensive, I believe its THE most feature intensive Carenado product they have ever released.

    I love all my Carenados.
Not PMDG quality, but still very good.
    Anyone got the Nado TBM850?

I have the Carenado TBM850, its very well modeled in terms of the FDE, Visuals (no surprise there) and even in the systems depth of the G1000. Given again its not going to be PMDG level systems simulation but it is THE most feature intensive Carenado product I have seen yet and that includes many Carenado products that I own (check "My Simulator" on my profile to the left of this post for more details).

  17. If you read my posts, nowhere did I say they were horrible or useless junk as I think they are one of the better publishers of FSX add-on's out there. I quite like the 337 and I fly it, the C90, and the Mirage quite a bit. My issue has always been why make something with a G1000 or an FMS and not model that properly, especially after putting in the effort to make it look gorgeous. That is my only issue.

I was not specifically implying you, it was a general comment based on many of the posts I have seen on here in the past.

  18. How funny. Earlier today I read somewhere on AVSIM that the TBM 850 from Wilco is junk.

That may very well have been my post on Carenado with their TBM850 vs the Wilco TBM850. Again just think if Carenado never existed because they are too mid level sim and not like PMDG we would be stuck with the Wilco model only!
