  1. Would be nice, but I don't see that happening. It costs virtually nothing to let digital software sit on a hard drive, so there is no benefit to the seller to give it away if they can still generate sales. Now, I don't see any reason to not make something shareware that is no longer going to be sold.
  2. Just Flight has a couple items.. They use to have a C-152, but it doesn't seem to be available anymore. Simmarket also has some items. Just do a search on 'fsx free'. They are on a page with some payware stuff, so you'll have to look.
  3. Here's a FSX version of Kastrup done by Ray Smith. You might be able to remove the Kastrup bgl file from the Danish scenery and substitute Ray's. Ray does good work, so I don't think you'll be disappointed.
  4. Title should probably be amended to include that the FSX airports, except Orange County are on sale. Picked up KEYW to replaced a freeware version.
  5. I've got an Intel i5 3570K and my settings are below, so I'm going to go with yes. [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14
  6. Have you tried an different version of the same airport to see if it occurs with that one also? If it doesn't then it's likely an issue with your the software and you may have to accept it.
  7. No need to reply. Got it answered on FSDeveloper..
  8. Also P3DV4 is 64-bit, so optimized for newer processors. It may may also make better use of the GPS, but don't know for sure. As for the 18 FPS it depends on setting, scenery, aircraft, etc. I would think that regardless of CPU the PMDG 737 would be almost unflyable with ORBX's Southern California add-on, especially if using REX textures and AS16.
  9. Not quite sure where to ask this, so here goes. Some of the bundled object libraries include objects that are already contained in other bundled libraries (exp; Shez Ansari Library Objects). Other than wasted disc space is there any issue with object libraries existing multiple times? Do both duplicates get referenced in memory, etc. If I delete the duplicates, would that impact anything? I would assume the flight simulator software is looking for an object ID and it would find the object regardless if it existed in the bundled library or in a library by itself. Thanks, Ernie
  10. Out of curiosity; With FSX running and SPAD open, does it recognize the panels? Even if you don't get a visual feedback from the actual panel do the tabs for the panels exist and does moving a button or switch on the panel result in some action in the tab?
  11. Have you tired SPAD? There is both a free version and a more feature rich version called SPAD.neXt. I don't have Windows 11, but I would give the free version a try. SPAD.neXt might also be worth a try, but I don't know if there is a trial version.
  12. Virtualcol are more of a "I want to jump in and fly" type aircraft. FeelThere takes advantage of Navigraph data, so ability to fly more accurate routes etc. Virtualcol relies on the default 2006 era data. In my opinion the FeelThere graphics are of better quality, but Virtualcol is less a expensive buy in. It does come down to what you want to do and how much effort you want to put into learning the aircraft.
  13. Interesting. I have GSX and have always ran FSX as administration without issues. However, both are installed in a non-Program Files directory to keep them away from Windows protected folder issues.
  14. Reno-Tahoe for MSFS $18.75. for FSX $26.67. While I fully support a vendor charging what they think their product is worth, I think I'll pass on this one.
  15. Never seen that with fsx.cfg, but the dll.xml and perhaps exe.xml will prompt you depending on the values in the <Disabled> and <Manual Load> tags.
  16. Not sure if anyone here uses Tacview, but it's 40% off from December 22nd to January 5th.
  17. Glad you were able to solve it. Hoping that you have some great flights..
  18. This is from ORBX: Identifying To identify the filename of missing textures, (simobject or scenery), add the following lines to your fsx.CFG into the section titled [SCENERY]. [SCENERY] // To show alerts or areas, set to = 1 // To hide alerts or areas, set to = 0 // Alert for missing textures ShowMissingTextureAlert=1 // Alert for missing objects MissingLibraryAlert=1 // Render Trigger areas as visible boxes ShowTriggers=1 FSX will now display an alert dialog identifying the missing file / object, or render trigger areas.
  19. Honestly, I've already mentioned everything I can think of. I'm still convinced that if you removed the B737-800 aircraft folder from SimObjects\Airplanes and the default aircraft still appear then you had duplicates somewhere. With that, I am honestly out of suggestions. Perhaps someone will have a suggestion I haven't thought of. I wish you good luck.
  20. Just tried AS2016 on my machine and it's accurate. Check the WX Control tab to insure that Live Weather is selected, then type in a local airport in the Conditions tab. If that isn't working then it's possible that your firewall is blocking AS2016 and you might have to add it to your firewall exceptions.

    Mr

I would probably start with reinstalling the aircraft in the event that some textures got trashed.
  22. Don't have the aircraft, but both the product description on PC Aviator and Real Flight Shop mention a 'Layered Tiled Paint kit'. Is this a different model?
  23. Sign into Simbrief, it's still free, and see if it lists the cycle for the Navigraph data that came with your aircraft. If no data was included then you'll need a Navigraph subscription to secure the data required by the G1000. After you created your flight plan in Simbrief it will generate the flight plan in the correct format for your aircarft.
  24. If you removed the one and only correct folder containing all of the 787-800 models that you listed in the aircraft.cfg and you are still seeing them, then look at your fsx.cfg file and see what SimObject folders are listed. FSX, can't load a plane that doesn't exist, since it wouldn't find the model or texture. If it still works correctly it has to be in a path accessible to FSX.. or you have two copies of FSX. Maybe FSX and FSX Steam? Sorry, it would be a 5 min or less fix if I could access your computer, but since not, we just have to make a series of guesses no matter how lame they might seem sometime.
