it shows how well tweaks can work! If you're FSX.cfg was out of whack this is totally understandable as it can make a big difference. I believe the installer will add fiber frame fraction and maybe LOD. I have their Hawaiian scenery.

Hi, Thanks for the information. One problem here for this Qantas config: ETOPS without Dual Battery package? Why does PMDG need dual battery for ETOPS requirements? Anyone know if that requirement is current? I've seen confliciting information posted by pilots on the web... I suppose I'll just turn it on for now. Thanks Dylan, I remember that used to be the standard recommendation to use an external limiter, until Word Not Allowed did his testing and found the internal one was nice and smooth, and trouble free. But like you say it is a bit limiting.. but still is smooth. I like it simple, I'll keep the internal limiter. I was more hopeful your post was a way to get rid of any limit altogether But FSX is just too old..

What a great story. My experience has been the same, as I have a 3GB card with supersampling and high detail my OOMs were bad especially over SE England. DX10 means no longer does the video memory have to go through RAM as well, lower VAS, less OOM. I dont have any more crashes than before, probably less. My only problem is some payware airports lack night textures, so I have to fly into them day-only. It's worth the trade off. The other benefit is the intangible sense of "smoothness" I get now - very good to have with Trackir!

Airbus A380 avionics, I don't know if we will ever see that. Given the time the systems are taking on the FSL A320. I was a bit disappointed in the F1 Mustang, being the best G1000 simulation it's still lacking some.. But the plane itself is nice.

QualityWings is doing it successfully, we fly the Avros now and get the Bae 146 later. I'm happy to be able to fly the Avro while I wait. I won't be happy to wait for the pro version of Majestic if I can't fly the Pilot version in the meantime, unless it's released very quickly. But no one ever puts out a date so we will never know. I'd rather be able to pay up front and be done with it.

I HOPE they let us buy the Pro version at day1, and let us fly the Basic version while waiting for our Pro. Otherwise we'll have a riot

Doh I meant to reply to this thread: http://forum.avsim.n...of-big-squares/ The solution as shared by the OP over there was to delete some files, specifically they are: KTPA: All of *papi*.bgl from the scenery subfolder; e.g. rwy10papi.bgl. There should be 6 files. OMDB: All of *papi*.bgl from the scenery subfolder; e.g. omdb_grd_31_rwy12Rpapi.bgl. There should be 4 files. The above fixes ONLY the PAPI big giant square. In addition to this - the poster on the other thread also deleted the lights files, to get rid of the black strobe, but I wasn't sure which ones to delete and ran out of time, I don't want to delete all the lights. If you have the issue with St Maarten having a big square on approach to the runway - this is fixed in FlyTampa site forum by installing the latest version, and then also the hotfix to replace a file. Found it, and fixed it thanks! Also confirm this fix works for KTPA Tampa Rebooted as well. In KTPA case though you only need to delete the PAPI files. Cheers

Yes, what does that do exactly? Its called Water 1.0.. does that mean it restores default water? Thanks, I tried FSWC lite and it's improved the overall look of my water. I didn't get it working on a previous attempt but it's working now. The colour though was just due to full moon :blush:
