  1. Great post and thanks for the story about Steinbeck, P_7878! I remember that we two had a discussion about him a few years back already in one of your posts. If I had to choose just one of his many books, it would definitely be "Travels with Charley: In search of America". By the way, and I hope I remember this correctly, when he arrived in Monterey on this trip, he was so upset seeing these huge crowds of tourists (and this was in 1960 🙂), that he almost "fled" through the Mojave Desert and Arizona and only stopped, once he had arrived in Texas. 😃

    uhhhhhh...what happened to the plane?

That's  a good question. It was a mixture of technical problems (she was a rather complex beast), lack of funds and regulatory requirements by US aviation authorities, once those repairs were finished.

  4. Over 90 years ago, on August 27, 1931, the Dornier Do X became visible over New York at around 11 am. To this day, the arrival of the "DO X" in New York is considered a milestone in aviation history.

    Here it goes past LaGuardia

The Do X remained in New York until spring 1932, the crew returned to Germany by ship. Our ship is the Majestic of the White Star Line, which was launched in 1914 as the Bismarck

  5. Thanks a lot, P_7878 and Darryl!

OMDB is really huge, I agree. I wonder, how much bigger the new version is going to be.

Nice to see an Pan Am 747 again, been a long time.

I really hope that some day Just Flight will bring their version of these iconic birds to MSFS, so that we have a proper vc again.
