MSFS From Bern, Switzerland, to Friedrichshafen, Germany
bernd1151 replied to bernd1151's topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Thanks a lot Patrick and Ryan. Modern airships today can reach up to 70 mph. These older, much bigger rigid airships could go up to 80 mph under full throttle and maximum thrust in still air. The highest estimated ground speed an airship (the Hindenburg, which crashed 1937 at Lakehurst) ever achieved was 188 mph. That was because of a very favorable tail wind of over 100 mph ! -

msfs The little known Humber Horten.
bernd1151 replied to andy1252's topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Wow, what a surprise, Andy. A few years ago I watched a video on the US History Channel, where some folks rebuilt the Horten from plans they got from Germany. I don't think it was flyable, but just to look at it was quite something. At that time I thought, how cool it would be to have this in FSX. And now you showed me that inibuilds just launched it. Instant buy! Thank you so much! But also your scenery shots are most impressive! -
Today I dived again back into the 1930s. The Zeppelin is just great fun and after watching a couple of YT videos at my leisure, I can now handle it to some extent. Of course, the King Air doesn't fit in there at all π Above the Bieler lake Above the NeuchΓ’tel lake Place of the navigator Liquid sustenance keeps the spirit up on these long journeys We got maps of all parts of the world Lake Constance, we have reached the Mainau island Friedrichshafen gradually comes into sight Getting the other zeppelin out, when I try to land doesn't make my landing any easier Done

Really cool, P_7878! Next time you happen to be down under, you ought to do a trip to the Blue Mountains low and slow. It's definitely worth it. Maybe you even have a red livery for a small plane such as the C-152 etc too ππ -
Great shots and a nice plane, Andreas. There is a freeware version of Valdez for MSFS available over on the .to site.

Manhatten Heliport (and a paint tutorial!)
bernd1151 replied to rmeier's topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Ok, Google is your friend: The DMH has been featured in several films and television shows. Among them were Hollywood blockbusters, including the 1997 movie Fools Rush In, Michael J. Foxβs For Love or Money, and the TV series hit White Collar π -
Manhatten Heliport (and a paint tutorial!)
bernd1151 replied to rmeier's topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Many thanks, Rod. I'm definitely interested in trying my luck with repainting some of my planes. Btw, the remake of the Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Brosnan has the same title. I too have both copies. Maybe I have to watch the remake again, which I actually liked more than the original. Other movies that feature this heliport I don't remember. -

Superb shots, buddy. I remember the SIA Concorde had its livery only on one side, as they never operated the plane. The other side was BOAC π

I thought it was time to change my mode of transportation again. I hope youβll forgive me π Refuge Cove is a year-round community on West Redonda Island in the heart of the Desolation Sound area of the Inside Passage. It serves as a centrally located supply stop for boaters travelling in or near Desolation Sound. Today we take our private yacht and will go from here to Vancouver Letβs go Once we are out of the cove, the sea gets rough Passing by Sechelt. I donβt want to be on that sailboat right now Close to Vancouver Tied down and secured, lets party Thanks for viewing

Itβs hot down there, so I fly fast π I take off in Alexandria, Egypt and fly across the Sahara desert to Belkebir in Marocco. In order to cover the distance, I use additional tanks under the wings. Thanks for viewing
