Hmmh...something appears to interfere with your data streaming when I look at the last few pics, Jack.

Great part 1, Jack. Strange what happened to you in this FPS friendly environment.
-
Fantastic shots mixed with some scary ones, Will, as you had some very close encounters 🙂

MSFS Into McMurdo, Antarctica

Many thanks, Erich. -
Thank you all for your kind comments, John, Will, PM, WingZ and Jack !! Luckily I didn't have any such issues. I once read that one of many possible factors could be reduced power settings, which make engines more prone to icing.

MSFS Into McMurdo, Antarctica

Thanks Patrick, I'm glad you like them. -
This is what Wikipedia has to say about Mt. Erebus: it is the second-highest volcano in Antarctica (after Mount Sidley), the highest active volcano in Antarctica, and the southernmost active volcano on Earth. With a summit elevation of 3,794 metres (12,448 ft), it is located in the Ross Dependency on Ross Island, which is also home to three inactive volcanoes: Mount Terror, Mount Bird, and Mount Terra Nova. The volcano has been active since about 1.3 million years ago and has a long-lived lava lake in its inner summit crater that has been present since at least the early 1970s. The volcano was the site of the Air New Zealand Flight 901 accident, which occurred in November 1979. Hmmh…what’s this? On to Mount Erebus Behind the summit is a small plateau, where I can try to land I think it was worth it. Do this in real life and it’s going to cost you a fortune. 😉😉 Let’s get out the bubbly for the passengers Ok, time to head back to McMurdo But where are we going to sleep, I don’t like to sleep in a 40-foot container!! No worries, ma’m, we have already thought of something much, much better I hope this will satisfy you 😉 Thanks for viewing.

The “Passat” is an old FSX ship that I converted to MSFS. The real Passat is a German four-masted steel barque and one of the Flying P-Liners, the famous sailing ships of the German shipping company F. Laeisz. Launched in 1911, she is one of the last surviving windjammers and anchors, well preserved, in Travemünde, a city in Northern Germany. (The name "Passat" is German for trade wind). Time to drop the sails, so we can be towed into the small harbor (there are two models of the ship, one with sails and one without) Over 100 years ago, the Passat was considered a large ship. As we can see, not anymore 🙂 Tomorrow we are going to explore the area by plane.

Very nice shots, Jack !!

Thanks buddy. Yes they are that green, depending on the time of the day sometimes darker, sometimes lighter, as you can see from the two attached photos. And what you get to see are mostly small bushes, trees and of course grass.

Superb shots, visually they bring out the best of the ATR 🙂

Thanks a lot Martyn, Ryan, John, Will, Darryl and PM for your comments. I'm happy that you like my shots 🙂

We will take a small detour and visit a few islands on our way to Bora Bora. Overall, despite some small imperfections, the scenery looks stunning. First we have to see, what Tahiti has to offer Over Moorea Passing mountain Mou’aroa Between two small villages, Atiha behind us and Ma’atea in front of us Tetiaroa, formerly owned by Marlon Brando, does not look very convincing. Luckily there is an add-on on .to that takes care of it Huahine looks quite underwhelming with an almost complete lack of water masking Taha’a looks better Fabulous Bora Bora ahead of us. The top of the mountain lacks a tile, so you can see through it. Apparently Microsoft already has been notified, so it will be fixed Thanks for viewing
