Great idea, Darryl !!

Excellent shots, P_7878. If I remember correctly, those SQ A340 flights were Business Class only. I can't imagine anyone would like to sit in a cramped Coach Class seat for such a long time.

I'm afraid of that, too, P_7878. My other favorite is the DC 8, which I think will also never see the light in MSFS.
Great story and shots btw.

Yes P_7878, that was the "Classics Hangar" model. I once even managed to convert it to MSFS standard, with the usual disadvantage of such port-overs: nothing is clickable in the cockpit.

You are too kind 🙂

How do you turn the cabin off on 380?
There are 4 silver squares behind the co-pilot's seat at the top. The leftmost one switches off the cabin display. However, I believe for this to take effect, MSFS must be restarted. I have seen that when I click the switch, the cabin disappears even without restarting MSFS. But then the textures are loaded anyway, and that's exactly what we want to prevent

Fantastic pics, PM. I just downloaded her myself. The converted FSX version had some 49k downloads on flightsim.to. I believe this one will be the most popular add-on download in the history of flight simulation 🙂

Thanks, Andi, I agree with you, the 707 was a superb-looking aircraft. Move this to modern times, I think the A340 is an equally good-looking bird 🙂

Sorry, P_7878, as I changed my course a couple of times, I flew this route by hand, so I have not yet tested, whether the plane follows a GPS flight plan. On the other hand, I have seen a (German) YT video, where it did follow a GPF flight plan.

What a fantastic trip, Gerold. I have been to this wonderful area three times and for sure it is on my bucket list again. Being in the Namib desert with nothing but nature around you and listening to the absolute silence at night is a unique experience and pure magic. 🙂

Gents, thank you for your kind comments!!
Yeah, the widowmaker made the news quite often in its early days. In its later days, it became much more dependable. There was a (not very good) joke in those days in Germany: how can you get a Starfighter? Buy a piece of land and wait. 😉
