  1. Mr Roland, I got to say, why am I just finding this program now? I needed something like this for a long time. Just watched your tutorial and right away I created some procedures for mhtg. As you may know, this airport is notorious for its RNAV runway 2 approach due to the airport sitting in a valley. Of course fsx doesn't care and had planes fly straight in through the mountains. I have mangaged to get one of the approaches to work, but on short final the plane still hasn't gotten landing clearance. I may have to abandon the Melvo approach transition and use the TNT transition approach. The TNT transition takes the plane over the TNT vor next to the airport which is in the direction of runway 2. I have yet to try this but I theorize that this approach will fool fsx to give the clearance but since the plane is too high for fsx to control, your program can still vector it around the valley to the runway center line and then land.

  2. My ops center is not showing any of my liveries or anything of my installed aircraft. I made no changes and it is up to date. I just haven't used it in some time. If I select 777, it just brings me to the cover page of the 777 and that is it. No liver manager, no cfg editor, no installed liveries headings. the same applies to the 737.

  3. I have had this software for a good while now and had no issues until recently. I don't know what caused it but no airports are available in its database. I rebuild the database several time and noticed it is reading my scenery data from a non existing directory. This causes EFB to have no airport data available. Now why did this happen? No idea. How can this be fixed? Its not looking in the default directory, I attached a pic to show what I mean.

  4. 1) The plane simply won't go any higher because the air is too thin for the amount of weight it is carrying. That is the reason/ logic for the use of step climbs. If you try to force the plane to climb further.... remember Air France 447. They climbed too high when too heavy and stalled.

    2)I can't answer that. I don't use PFPX

3)If you put a coupe's tires on a pick up truck,, isn't there more loading/ pressure on the tires? The same goes for wings. Because the -300er uses the same wing as the -200, there is more wing load due to the heavier weight of the -300. You can also say that there is more pressure on the wings to keep the -300 up in the air. So in essence, the wing on the -300 is not truly optimized for the type but it is used because it can save money and it works. If the -300 had new wings designed for it, it would be able to climb higher than it is now.

    cheers!

  5. Please give it a rest. Do a search and you find PMDG have made their current position on this quite clear. No amount of lobbying or repetitive posts will change that.

But the situation has changed. ASN now was able to have actual cloud positions placed in fsx. Was this not the reason PMDG refused to bother with it in the first place?

  6. 'd rather like to see a PMDG up-to-date Dash-8 100 or Q200 or an Airbus. Any airliner that is currently in service would be great

I think the dash 8 was said to be in the line up. As for the 'bus, I don't think that will happen unless some drastic change occurs. BTW aerosoft made a good rendition, right? I'm going with Boeing...

  7. I've had this same issue except I was descending into a 1/4 visibility airport. When coming down into it, I could see everything below nice an clear. Once I reached a lower altitude, everything became foggy as it should be. It bugged me that when flying above, I couldn't see any fog, it was clear below.

This issue peeves me the most from all the payware weather engines. When asked about this issue, one claims that from above, you can see through the fog. That is why they used 7/8 broken stratus clouds to "top off" the fog layers. So then why is P3D using volumetric fog to depict fog layers. Fog is like a liquid, you have to see it covering the surface from the air. That being said, to not see anything and then descend into the soup? that is weird.

  8. So are you asking me if I want a hack and slash model of the NGX?

    My answer is NO

Let me ask you this, did you buy the 747-8?

I don't see any way this would happen as an NGX extension. This would be its own product after the real aircraft enters service. The cockpit is changing pretty drastically vs. the NG and the new engines and wing are going to require a lot of work to model the performance for.

Really? Unless I read old news, I was under the impression that Boeing will keep the flight deck commonality like the 747-8.

Look folks, this was just an idea. Why all the heat? Cool your after burners. I did not say this is to be made soon as the real thing is not out yet. The NGC model is in two major parts: the exterior and interior model. If the flight deck changes then that model needs to be remade. As for the external, has anyone seen the proposed design? It looks just the same as the ng except for some not too major changes such as new engines, longer gear struts and that shiny new blended winglet.

  9. Could this be possible in the future? The ngx model can still be used but some tweaks to it would make it look like the MAX. Adding the new winglets and bigger engine nacelles should not be hard, right? As for internals, add any changes to the fuel quantity if needed, tweak the engine model to simulate the performance of the CFM LEAP-X, and add the increased efficiency of the winglets.

    Thoughts?

  10. Where did you get this info from? Boeing stated the -600 will not be carried over to the MAX models.

I know. I was just asking for these models to be painted. I rather use Boeing for my Air Canada fleet and the fact that ACA will be using 737s is not fictional anymore for FSX.

    Ok let me clarify then.

To gear up for the arrival of the 737s in ACA's fleet, can some one paint the ngx fleet in the ACA livery...

  11. When I first got my ngx, you could see the cabin lights shine through the windows. You could also see into the cabin from the outside especially when you open the any of the doors. I noticed now that the cabin light feature is inop and when the hold and pax doors are opened, I can see right through the plane because there is nothing inside. What happened? I did no major reinstall (I rather not reinstall after i finally got fs2crew working) only there reinstall of the service pack a couple of times to get fs2crew running. any ideas?

  12. Wait, I can think of one… even lower fps.

Well this is the price for a truly excellent weather program and progress , you cant have all that stuff going on to give such a great experience and expect no hit on frame rates, just wait until your  next PC upgrade it will really shine

What do you guys mean? I have both FSGRW and OPUS set at reasonable cloud levels with reduced cumulus.bmp texture and fly fine. I experienced no difference with ASN. Is everyone who is having problems using the max cloud draw and sight distance? either way, I find ASN more customizable than the other weather engines regarding performance.

BTW, I love how it is so easy to fly a cessna into a thunder storm and get vertigo unless you are hard focused on your gauges :P

  13. Now I am sorry I bought the "other" two non active sky weather engines- they know who they are... I hanve to say, Hifi did themselves a huge favour by allowing a full function demo. This is what I was looking for! Real volume in clouds!!!! microburst and vertical air simulation! Just for fun, I took my ngx to AGGH yesterday to test the thunderstorm there. My plane took off and the wings where flapping like a bird due to turbulence- beautiful  . I like how the weather gradually comes is and not pop. I am buying this for sure. BTW how far back does historic weather go?
