To be honest I'm impressed this thread has stayed open with the heavy handed censorship avsim usually sports as well as the threats of libel from the developer. That said, whether or not the files being in that location itself is harmful, even if their previous "debacle" technically didn't harm anyone, it is the principle of the thing that I dislike. Whether or not I or anyone was directly affected and the file was not harmful, the entire principle behind their actions shows a lack of respect and tact for everyone. Also a prime example of the Streisand effect, their actions in response to the discovery of this file being placed in the system folder I find is even worse than the act of putting the file there itself. Their attitude towards the situation certainly leaves one with a bad taste in the mouth.

What are the AA and filtering settings used in this video? With my settings, the scenery is very shimmery as described by one of the posters above. I hope KORD doesn't have the same issue for me.

C310 Redux Flight model question
Pineapple_Wizard replied to 757FO's topic in The MILVIZ Support Forum
I don't know what C310s you've been flying but I can assure you they do not spiral out of control despite inputs when you lose an engine. Moderate to heavy (depending on operative engine power) rudder pressure and 5 degrees of bank into the operative engine is all that is needed to maintain directional control in zero sideslip. I was utterly unable to maintain this in the simulator. Maybe my setup isn't the same as those flight schools? Even my school's FTD sims don't do justice to the real thing in terms of handling. Having read that, I do now see why I couldn't get the engine to feather. Even so an unfeathered engine is not the end of the world. The Milviz model was essentially uncontrollable with a failed engine and a non feathered propeller. I will give it a try with a feathered engine this time and see what happens. -
C310 Redux Flight model question
Pineapple_Wizard replied to 757FO's topic in The MILVIZ Support Forum
I am currently training in a Cessna 310 to get my multi engine rating. I have tried the Milviz C310 to help with practice procedures and maneuvers. I found that singe engine operations are not even close to the real world counterpart. If you fail an engine in the Milviz C310, it will be impossible to control and you will probably roll over and crash. In the real C310, an engine failure isn't all that dramatic and as easily countered by some rudder pressure. I was disappointed in the flight model in this regard; however, I don't believe Milviz advertise the aircraft being able to perform in non-normal procedures, such as an engine failure. I did find the flight model pretty spot on in normal climbs, cruise, and descents. It's pretty good, but not quite A2A level or what some would call "study level." -
I would love to pick up some of the airports like KBZN but I don't want to have to buy those regions as "prerequisite" products. It seems silly to spend money to be able to purchase an additional scenery.

It still can't quite fly in a straight line among other things, but now that 4.2 is out they have said an update to the CRJ is undergoing testing. Hopefully that solves its issues as I would really like to have it back in my hangar probably much like many other owners of the CRJ.

It's strange I've had the issue at Flytampa AMS before and I've also had no issues there. Today I landed at T2G LFPG and had no issues. Strange, I'll try to record my landings and post a video of when it goes wrong. Thomas Swehla

Okay I'll have a look at trying F1 before F2. As far as my controller, it just goes down to zero, in others words it does not handle reverse thrust. Whenever I land I just tap F2 to get into reverse. Thomas Swehla

Yeah I usually approach at Vref+5, stabilized by 1000', I try to follow the FCOM I have. The flight into AMS was 152 kts on final with the autothrottle. It idled at 30ft like it usually does but on touchdown the plane seems confused, I can't the reversers open until the nose wheel comes down. Also worth pointing out that it does not decelerate at all. You could literally go to the end of the runway still at 150 kts with the nose up. I haven't been able to check the exterior view often when this happens, but the one time I did, the spoilers couldn't decide if they were extended or retracted and the main gear was bouncing a bit. These even happens with hard landings. For throttle control I use a Logitech Extreme 3D pro. It is rather old and there may be some noise on the throttle axis but I don't know if that would affect it.

So recently I've found a rather strange and annoying issue when landing the 777, both the 200LR and 300ER. This is in P3Dv4.1 777 version 1.10.8448. So I fly most approaches manually but with the autothrottle engaged. Upon touchdown, it seems that sometimes the airplane doesn't quite register it is on the ground. I hear the speedbrakes coming up, but the PFD speedtape glitches between NO VSPD and how it normally is during flight. At this point the nose is still up and the aircraft is not decelerating even though the throttles have come to idle. I also cannot seem to activate the reversers either. Autobrakes were set at 2 and still no deceleration. It wasn't until I forced the nose down that I heard the touchdown sounds and the reversers deploy. I've also seen this happen to twitch streamers before while landing the 777. In the options I also have A/T override in flare enabled. For some reason, replicating this issue is difficult, it usually happens during a normal flight, as today it happened upon landing at EHAM from KSFO. Now if I just load in the 777 on a runway, takeoff just as is, fly a pattern, and land manually, everything works as it should. I also use FSUIPC but only for autosave and do not have any controls mapped with it. Any help is greatly appreciated. -Thomas Swehla

Conclusion on REX Sky Force after a day of testing.
Pineapple_Wizard replied to Nyxx's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
From what I have read, given that the REX weather engine has always been questionable, it seems SF3D is just a dressed up version of REX Texture Direct, which I even ditched for ENVTEX and ASCA quite some time ago. So far I haven't seen any strong evidence that SF3D is as amazing or is a huge improvement over TD/soft clouds to make me want to buy the product. -
CaptainSim 757 NOT a beta but 1.0 release
Pineapple_Wizard replied to Wise87's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
I agree that it is buggy, but I would say it's also a bit flawed. The engine physics modelling is reminiscent of default FSX aircraft where it may as well not even be a jet engine because you can spool up or down in no time at all. The engine sounds are also nothing special, extremely quiet at idle as well. I will say I appreciate the autopilot and FMS is working quite well at this point but it seems they've really botched the immersion. -
How strange. I managed to solve this issue by downloading the June 2010 directx redistributables from Microsoft. I then ran the installer and pointed it towards a folder on my desktop. In there were all the .cab files of the directx redistributables. From those I extracted out the the same dll files as the ones in the error message and replaced them in system32. I guess somehow the graphics drivers got corrupted. Thanks Nvidia.

So just yesterday I did a full reinstall of windows on my machine and I installed P3D v4.1 but the program will not launch due to this error: https://imgur.com/vTq5CvC At a loss for what to do. Maybe it's from being on 1709? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm pretty desperate to get this up and running.

Eaglesoft airplanes coming, but not to v4?
Pineapple_Wizard replied to Boeing or not going's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
I was pretty interested in this until they mentioned no Navigraph support. I'm not willing to fly it unless I can be on the current AIRAC. -

Turbine Duke Native P3D v4
Pineapple_Wizard replied to ryanbatc's topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
I had the Legacy and Duke in FSX, but now I use P3D v4. Any way I can get the P3D versions? -
I too wonder about this. I was thinking about picking up STL for the VATSIM FNO tonight.

+4 For fspilotshop... As much as I dislike simmarket I might have to stick with them in the future. -

Majestic Dash 8 Q400 64 bit release!
Pineapple_Wizard replied to Robertma's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Anyone know when it'll come to fspilotshop? -
It's pretty much unflyable in its current state. I really wanted to like it but they just seem to create more issues with every update. With the A320 delay I have pretty much given up on Aerosoft at the moment, especially if the A320 and A330 releases go the same way the CRJ did.

I too have noticed this, that while touching down, the autobrakes don't engage and you end up sort of floating down the runway at 130 knots. I don't have any fancy rudder pedals, just the Logitech 3d pro with a high rudder null zone. I can't think of any reason my controls are conflicting and causing the problem. I use FSUIPC, but not for any controls, only autosave is being used. I've seen this issue happen to others as well. I wonder if it has to do with mesh or something as I remember that sometimes while landing at KSFO or similar airports, PMDG aircraft just slam into the ground without warning upon crossing the threshold unless you have the mesh settings set right in P3D.

Hey guys, I just recently created a checklist for the Cheyenne in the GTN 750. It's only normal procedures, taken directly from the supplied Carenado checklists. Here is the Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxsxRAlU_6mNMEh6Qkhxa2J1eEk/view?usp=sharing The chklist.ace file will go in your main Carenado PA31T_Cheyenne_II aircraft folder. I hope there aren't any spelling errors and such, feel free to use and edit at your will. Enjoy!

I fixed it by deleting the //Disabled by chaseplane hotkeyselect=1 or whatever it says in the CPT standard view section of the aircraft.cfg
