  1. Hi, thanks for reply!

    Although that works fine now, there's another...strange thing happening (I wonder why I'm not surprised). From the beginning I have to say that I always fly with the sight draw distance slider set to max, so;

The haze appears to be blue now...but I always had...eeer..gray haze before this whole issue occurred.

This is how it looks now:

And this is how it used to look like in the good ol' times:

Is it possible to change the..color of the fog?

  2. Yeah well, I never fully dug into the guts of FSUIPC. I only need it to get some addons workin'

Now, this is how the world looks like when the sight draw distance slider is set to max

And this is how it should look like when the same slider is set to min

In both instances, the visibility slider was set to max.

  3. Hi, sorry for the delay as well. Been busy repairin' FS, and I did it. I was on the verge of taking an FS "vacation". My adventure: Reinstalled FS (multiple times), problem still there. Then, after one of these installations I installed FS9.1 update...that fixed it. Certainly one of the weirdest FS issues so far. I'm inclined to think REX caused it, someone told me he had a similar issue some time ago, and he concluded that REX was the culprit. Thanks for help guys and I told u...that wasn't normal. I'm gonna post some pics showing you THE way it's supposed to look like at those 2 different sight distance settings.

PS: Yes, I have a registered ver of FSUIPC.

  4. This is how it looks like configured exactly like you advised:

Like I said, I do know FS9' menus, I'm not new to FS, I tried different configurations myself, but whatever's happening (sight draw distance issue or visibility issue), this thing is broken. I KNOW it never worked like this under normal circumstances. All of a sudden, when I was taking off for an IFR, I noticed as I was climbing that there's something wrong with the visibility (very low) so I went to the visibility slider and set it to max, but the fog was still there, so I went to sight distance slider and it was set to max (150 miles)..that's when I first "shook hands" with this issue..something's obviously messed up..

    Thanks again!

  5. I know what you're talking about. I'm sure the "sight distance" slider is the one with problems. If I use the slider you mention, and bring the visibility to an even lower level, I almost can't see anything. Even with the visibility slider set to maximum, there's this very thick fog, which has something to do with the "sight distance" slider. This ain't normal, something altered my sim, and I'll be d@mned if I know what. I'll reinstall the sim...that's all I can do.

  6. Thanks for replies guys, very much appreciated. Honestly I don't know what to think. Are there 2 different visibility settings? I don't know! But this CAN'T be normal. Call it whatever you want..sight distance..draw distance, no mater what, I should be able to see farther when setting it to see farther and vice-versa. I tried adding that line in FS9 cfg, all it does (since my sim is ill) is that it makes the sight distance slider to be useless, now no matter where the slider is, the world will look like it it'd look when set to min (60 nm). I keep trying to find some module, folder or...something that causes this; I'm afraid I'll have to reinstall the darn sim...or pay some experts to find the culprit. I also used Ivap (IVAO' pilot client) and FSInn...both having something to do with weather...I don't know what to think anymore. I hate it when an ordinary user has to be an expert as well, knowing all the guts of a particular product in order to be able to use that product.

But anyway, thanks alot for replies guys!

  7. Hello everyone,

I've had this problem in the past, but at the time, I didn't know too much about this issue. Somehow, I managed back then, to get it resolved without reinstalling FS. Now troubles back, and I noticed that apparently, it only pops up while messing around with REX (I just wanted to change my clouds and sky textures). What I did in the past to get rid of this prob was to uninstall, and then reinstall FS9.1 update, that appeared to fix it. But now it doesn't fix it anymore which makes me think if that thing with FS9.1 was just a coincidence..maybe it was something else that actually fixed it..or not. And this is my nightmare I'm talking about:

Apparently the "sight distance"'s min and max values are swapped. Even so, when setting min, the visibility I get it's not like it should be when setting max, under normal circumstances.

Tried restoring FS' defaults, tried updating the scenery library (that fixed some other issues I had), tried messing around in REX's menus to see if I can find what caused this, uninstalled REX and started FS (thinking that perhaps REX's weather engine is the culprit)...nothing fixes it. Restored the default textures (the ones replaced by REX), doesn't work. I even replaced the folder "Weather" from FS root folder with the original one..nothing (therefore, the culprit isn't to be found in this folder). I know there WAS something that managed to fix it before...and that something may have been FS9.1's uninstallation and subsequent reinstallation..Any ideas guys? Is there something else than REX that may cause this? I'm also using GEPro, but I don't use its WX engine and still..this appears to happen only when messing around in REX. I'm tired of reinstalling FS every time this satan pos up...Looking forward to some opinions..Thank you so much!

  8. Hello everyone,

Could someone explain to me how exactly the vertical speed hold mode functions on PSS Concorde? All the manual says is that the vertical speed button will maintain the existing VS at the time the VS hold mode was engaged. But, how exactly can I change the desired VS to be maintained once I have activated this mode. For instance..let's say I want the plane to climb and maintain...20000 feet; when I reach the desired VS, I press the VS hold button, AP will maintain that VS, so far so good. But if afterwards I want to change my VS, I don't really know what to do. If I press VS hold button, it won't disengage, so I suppose I have to choose another vertical mode instead, so I choose attitude hold, which will (as it's supposed to) disengage VS hold, then I can apparently change my VS simply by yoke input, next, when I reach my (new) desired VS, I press VS hold button again, and that's where crazy things happen. The plane would enter a deadly dive like crazy and smash the ground if I don't take over. I noticed that in some instances, if the plane is high enough so it won't hit the ground, AP manages to maintain my new desired VS...but only after that crazy dive. So my question is..how to change my VS once the VS hold mode has been engaged?

    Thank you so much, MIB!

  9. I use both SP-177 and SP-77. I got a registered version of FSUIPC v3.70...maybe I need a newer version...I don't know, but anyway, I can control V/S with the AP...disengaging "elev" paddle of AP than manually changing pitch, than reengaging "elev" paddle of AP will do it, AP will maintain the new pitch angle...but it's just not realistic...

  10. Hope I'm not getting too pushy, but can anyone figure out why is this happening: My A/P is configured LIKE THIS, EXCEPT for the fact that "alt hold" is not activated, instead the wheel points to "OFF", and still, I can't use Control Wheel Steering function, can't change V/S by using yoke while A/P on, the plane won't listen to the yoke while the "elev" paddle of A/P is engaged no matter how much pressure input is on the yoke. Is there some switch I have to...switch? Or maybe the bad luck still hangs on me like a limpet...

    Thanks in advance!

  11. OK, solved it, got a registered copy of FSUIPC, everything works perfect (I hope it will keep on goin') also found a solution for maintaining a specific v/s: when the "elevator" pedal of A/P is engaged, A/P will maintain the attitude at which the a/c was when A/P was engaged, so if I wanna change the V/S I just disconnect the "elevator" pedal of A/P, and manually change the pitch angle than engage the "elevator" pedal again, until reaching the desired flight level/altitude.

Thanks again for advice, had you not said what u said, I would've been dead :Skull: thanks alot!

  12. Hello everyone, I'm new to TinMouse II and I got some perplexities: how can I control the vertical speed? Let's say I take of, turn on the AP then I wanna climb to...say..13000 feet, how can I control the V/S to climb with...say..1800 feet/min till I reach 13000 feet at that point activating alt hold? I know I could fly the plane manually to 13000 feet, but even the 707' v/s could be controlled with the autopilot...the documentation of TinMouse says that I should pull the yoke, but pulling it, does exactly nothing...is there really no way I can control the V/S with the autopilot, is hand-flying the only way I can reach a certain altitude?

Also, just to be sure I understood well, do I need to have a registered (payware) copy of FSUIPC installed in order to get a functioning airspeed indicator?

It's a very detailed panel, but if can't get over these issues maybe I'll have to search for another one (not sure if I can find a good one, the best I found has a bonus feature...it stops the engines whenever it wants )!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance!

  13. One request... a serving of good apple pie first (before the deneuralizer). :Big Grin:

HA! Caught u, the deneuralizer brings back the mamories, the neuralizer makes u happy :Big Grin:

no sun? there are only 2 possibilities, either you accidentally deleted the texture file or you were somewhere over Bermuda.

The textures are there...the sun reappeared at some points when it wanted to...I wasn't over Bermuda, I was..on many airports...anyway the "reset defaults" function resolved it.

  14.   Thanks Agent R. I asked K, and he said "restore the damn defaults of FS9" which I did, and now all seems to work just fine!! Curios how sometime such a little...thingy can resolve such an annoying problem...hope the problem won't come back.

PS Since you know I'M one of those agents...sorry...but...expect me, 1 night, I'll come to flash you...u know..the deneuralizer

  15. Hello everyone, I got a problem, the sun disappears, the glare also disappears and probably the moon is nowhere too. I still got the "daylight" but the sun itself is nowhere to be seen. When I look towards the spot where the sun should be I see that "blinding" white..bright thing that you normally get when you look at the sun...but the sun cannot be seen. And something interesting, I have a saved flight, and when I load that flight, all gets back to normal, the sun reappears as normal...I can subsequently change the aircraft, or go to another airport from the menu, change the time, all will work fine, but if I start the sim in the normal way...the problem reappears. Have any of you had the same problem? Or do you know what could cause this? Any help - greatly appreciated! Thanks!
