A day in the life of a CTD!
KSATRoadWarrior replied to sauviat's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I had a similar experience with Zendesk and the Visual C++ issue. My CTDs did go away, even using latest AMD driver, but yesterday I got a CTD as I was asking ATC for an approach assignment. This is similar to my first CTDs, months ago. Hopefully they will ID the real issue and fix it. It seems to be a situation where some kind of interrupt occurs and code thread is lost. -
After a recent Windows 10 Feature update I received the following error message when trying to start MSFS. I uninstalled that update and restarted MSFS with no problem. The error occurred multiple times until I uninstalled the Features update for Win 10. I have not reported this to Zendesk yet. A few more tests to confirm before I report it. It could be something else but I am not sure yet. I have uninstalled: 2/2/2021 KB4598291 2004-OS Build 19041.789 and 20H2-OS Build 19042.789 I have reinstalled the update in question and did NOT get the same error. Unknown situation.

500 hours complete
KSATRoadWarrior replied to Little Jenny's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I just hit 500 hours yesterday, January 18. My hours are 98% King Air and Cessna 172 (G1000). It helps being retired and 75 with time on my hands. 😃😃 -
I agree with that 100%. I believe that we need to let Asobo settle this sim in before we start tweaking with unknown consequences.

Even with good taxi to a spot and proper shut down it doesn't always log the flight! VERY frustrating AND annoying. Seems like such a simple thing to fix. I have reported it to Mr. Zendesk as well but NO ACTION from ASOBO.

C172 won't leave the ground.
KSATRoadWarrior replied to Bbrain's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I too have not had "Modern" changed thru any of the updates. I don't have an answer why...sorry. -
Panel controls going nuts in 1.10.7.0?
KSATRoadWarrior replied to ELaw's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I have had similar problems in both the C172 and King Air since that last update. I got around it by taking the advice of another poster, point to the control knob and instead of clicking use the mouse scroll button. MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE PARTICULAR BUTTON FUNCTION DISPLAYED OR YOU WILL JUST ZOOM IN OR OUT. Good luck..... -
Zendesk response I received: " Crashes happens when opening certain menus/general settings Solution: Install or reinstall the English (United States) Language Pack Go to Language Settings > Speech > Manage Voice If the English (United States) Language Pack is already installed Select the voice package English (United States) Click on Remove Click on Add voices In the search bar type “English” Reinstall the English (United States) Language Pack If the English (United States) Language Pack is not installed Click on Add voices In the search bar type “English” Install the English (United States) Language Pack If the problem persists after (re)installing the US language pack, remove and reinstall all the other language packs installed on the system as they may be corrupted. Things changing without update?
KSATRoadWarrior replied to Moria15's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Starting today (Oct 6) I am also having NEW ATC issues. So bad of issues and repeated issues that I am reinstalling MSFS. I wonder what the reinstall will bring and what is happening behind the scenes waiting for 1.9.4? It is getting VERY frustrating to say the least. -
You might want to take a look at these hotkey assignments and see if they work for you:

Copilot handing of radios?
KSATRoadWarrior replied to bahnzo's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I just re-flew the same flight, no VFR map, no AI copilot for anything, and I was within 20 miles of the ILS landing and a CTD. I have reported it to Zendesk, let's see if I get an answer. Their Known Issues suggestions did NOT prevent a CTD. -
Copilot handing of radios?

This is a Known Issue as stated on this web site. Can also cause CTD. Sorry. I meant to say Known Issues on the Microsoft Flight Simulator web site.😫😫 -
Did everyone notice there is a fix?
KSATRoadWarrior replied to Todd2's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Both generic aircraft settings were turned on from day 1. I also had autopilot issues even with both generic models turned on. I believe my autopilot, loss of control issues, were related to me making changes to the autopilot settings during flight. Perhaps I am not clear on my statement or I have misunderstood the OP suggestion to turn ON generic for AI aircraft. -

Mine have both been on since day 1 and I have also autopilot issues. IMHO I believe the autopilot issues are caused when you try and make changes to autopilot during the flight.
