  1. For P3D you have to click on Sound and configure it. You can turn down the cockpit sounds for engines there and there are other settings. Only you can figure out the best settings. What you select may not be what I or others have configured. Many keep the sound settings at the default P3D settings.

    Greetings

We gave you two hours to edit.
  3. The number one fix for this is to rename the dll.xml located in the same folder as your scenery.cfg. See page 10, AVSIM CTD Guide (link in my signature). Check Windows Defender too to make sure it did not quarantine one of the Active Sky files during installation.
  4. Thanks for his contributions to our FS community. RIP.

    Greetings

The Welcome New Members Forum was set up for new members, You joined in November and already have many posts. This topic is better suited in the Hanger Chat Forum. I will move it there.
  6. I have had a lot of bad experiences with DDU and do not recommend it. The only solution to my situation was to do a restore.
  7. Excellent topic! Excellent investigation! Investigating your particular situation is really the only solution. There are so many possibilities on many different types of computers. I wish there were just one solution that fits all. It's a reason why the AVSIM CTD Guide provides some information on how to investigate and narrow down the cause(s). I have had a lot of ntdll errors over the years and none are ever the same.
  8. My last thoughts/comments on this horrific event in our lives is that our membership has thought out and researched some information about this event and are not posting just a lot of made up information or making silly assumptions. It's a serious event and we all hope it will not last much longer. Best regards, Jim
  9. It's the flu and I'm taking it lightly. Read my CDC post.
  10. I like facts or heavily researched information from agencies like the US Center for Disease Control - https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm. We are looking at between 16000 to 41000 deaths so far just here in the USA. Full illnesses are estimated to be from 29-41 million (with an M). We have flu viruses that are unknown or have no effectiveness to a particular strain. So the Coronavirus, a flu without a known cure, is nothing in comparison to what the USA is going through. We don't go around wearing white suits to protect medical personnel too in most cases. Wish we could have a name for an unknown flu strain too but we don't do it for some reason. It is difficult to track the exact number of deaths because there is currently no method to accomplish this detail. Jim
  11. I like Ray's suggestion as, of course he is right. Investigating the scene is the only way to fix it and this is where the AVSIM CTD Guide comes in handy. My favorite fix for ALL CTD'S is renaming the dll.xml. restarting PSD, and seeing if this fixes the problem. Remember there are 2 dll.xml's in P3D V4. You really don't need all those modules loading and running in the background. I don't know what all you have installed but many with P3D use an AI program and it might have incompatible traffic. If there is a military installation nearby then you might run into an incompatible military aircraft. AVSIM recommends disabling the mil traffic.bgl in fsx/scenery/world/scenery. There are many other suggestions like this in the CTD Guide including possible fixes for the kernellbase dll error I found while setting up the guide.
  12. If a member updates an airport, can he zip up the airport, add it to the AVSIM Library for anyone to download and try themselves? Think it might be good to have a MSFS2020 Airport section in the Library. We could have several variations from different members and members could download the one they really like. We have a lot of talented members who could really show off their expertise and a great contribution to the community. Jim
  13. Since DCA is my home airport, that was nice to watch! Thanks Luis.
  14. I do not think they are going to fix this problem. If you look at the FAQ's it states something like that and reason why they are not responding to your inquiry..
  15. The first thing to load when you start up P3D are the two dll.xml's that load modules. MakeRwy's is a standalone program and not loaded. You could have had a corrupted database though. This is the first time I have ever heard of MakeRwy's or the data it outputs cause CTD's. Whenever you update NAVDATA, it is always a good idea to also update MakeRwy's.
  16. Carenado aircraft are default on P3DV4. The module should be in your main P3D folder.
  17. It's most likely the cmeteo.dll module. Disable in dll.xml and see if this fixes it. I got a ctd while sitting at FlightBeam KIAD in heavy weather like a thunderstorm. With just normal weather no problem. I was mostly using PMDG aircraft but recall using one of the default twin engines too. The module is used by Carenado for there weather radar. Took a long time to investigate including a trouble ticket to Hi Fi.
  18. The AVSIM CTD Guide has guidance with images on how to disable modules loading whenever you startup. Most common modules are the Carenado and fsuipc (like autosave)..
