  1. He said there is nothing in the Event Viewer in his last sentence. As I stated in the second post, anything in the dll.xml loads at startup but he reinstalled FSX-SE so there was no dll.xml installed. The way I read it all is that he has a default installation of FSX-SE. No addons. No FSUIPC. No AI as he uninstalled FSX-SE and then reinstalled it after cleaning the registry. The only thing I can see that would cause the sim to stop at the splash screen is a bad installation of FSX-SE where the anti-virus or anti-malware program decided to quarantine a couple of files that are needed to startup FSX-SE. I see no solution to the problem. I recommend OP reinstall Windows and then install FSX-SE. Something got corrupted in the registry or in his Users files. Best regards, Jim
  2. UK2000 airports are commonly referred to when one runs out of VAS. It's like Flight Beam's KIAD HD which is also resource intensive. I fly out of FSDT KORD to KIAD HD and it is ugly trying to land. I monitor my VAS using the FSUIPC utility (see AVSIM CTD Guide for details on how to do this). I usually have about 1GB of VAS remaining on approach but, as I near landing, it goes to 300MB then up to 800MB and ends up with around 200 MB's on landing. Sometimes it takes me out of my misery and crashes. Of course I'm flying the PMDG 777 or 737 and I have AS16 weather running. You just have to monitor the VAS and, if it is getting low, turn off real weather. If you open up the menu or goto spot view, sometimes that will give you more VAS. More suggestions in the CTD Guide. I know of no computer system that can handle it well especially if the user has high settings. FSX-SE runs great with max settings with default scenery/aircraft. You install add-ons which are filled with eye-candy and things go downhill fast!
  3. On sale until 9/30 - https://secure.simmarket.com/latinvfr-raleigh-durham-krdu-fsx-p3d.phtml
  4. Well, that wasn't one of my suggestions. FSX (and FSX-SE) leave a lot of files after it is uninstalled, including registry entries. In other words, it does a lousy job. Do you have User Access Controls disabled? Did you make sure the folder in which you were installing FSX was temporarily exempt from scanning in any anti-virus or anti-malware program (including MS Defender)? Did you go to the FSX-SE folder and right click on FSX.exe and select properties and, under the compatibility tab, made sure it shows at the bottom to run the program for ALL users (not just you)? This is all in the AVSIM CTD Guide (because you did get a CTD as you cannot get past the splash screen). I also recommend using the uninstall/reinstall guide for FSX as published by PMDG - (link in the AVSIM guide but here it is - http://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a87/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-fsx.aspx). Best regards, Jim
  5. Do you have the graphic settings as shown on page 39 of the P3D Guide (see link to guide under Hot Spots to the right of this topic)? The native resolution for this monitor is 3840x2160. You should also make sure the resolution in the NVIDIA Control Panel is correct. If the resolution for the menu is too small for you, then you will have to lower your resolution to say 3440 x 1440 or lower. The GTX 980ti video card is an excellent card that should provide you with the best resolutions for your monitor. Best regards, Jim
  6. Make sure you have the carenavigraph.db file in the CarenadoNavigraph folder (not the CarenadoNavigraph\Navigraph folder) (the file will be dated the same date as the new AIRAC Cycle and the latest was just released and is cycle 1610). You should also have the carenavigraph.dll in your main FSX or P3D folder. This is loaded via the dll.xml with the following entry: <Launch.Addon> <Name>Carenavigraph</Name> <Path>.\Carenavigraph.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> Best regards, Jim
  7. This is exactly what you told me when you sent me the support inquiry (which I receive via e-mail). I responded immediately to your inquiry. Please check your spam/junk e-mail folder. When our system identifies multiple accounts, I immediately merge those accounts as the AVSIM Terms of Service does not allow for multiple accounts. When we remove members for cause, we do not expect them to show up again a few days later with a new identity (but that sometimes happens too). We have hundreds of members who forgot their username/password or have a new e-mail address and no longer can request a new password as their registered e-mail address now longer exists and, instead of sending me an inquiry or requesting a new password, they make up a new e-mail address and try to register a new account. Our system sees this and I usually will merge the older account into the newer account. It can happen but it rarely occurs when two or more members register with the same IP address. Mistakes are made and it appears one was made with your account. If the e-mails in the tahomatom account belong to you I can fix this and merge his account into yours. His account will be deleted. I will notify tahomatom to register again for a new account before I remove his account. It's strange he never notified us of strange e-mails in his account! I apologize for any inconvenience! About 3-4 years ago, I had over 7000 posts deleted as the owner had "accidentally" hit the wrong button. Not a big thing. Nothing is really deleted and my old account was archived and irretrievable. Just started with a new account. In your case though, I can fix the error if you respond to the e-mail I sent. Best regards, Jim
  8. Based on the title, "Will SP2 Crack Work on FSX Acceleration", SP2 is the freeware version of Acceleration. You install one or the other but not both. Since SP2 is not a "crack" I'll let this one pass. The OP should be careful in the future. Using the word "crack" is not appropriate in any forum, not just AVSIM. Please read the AVSIM Terms of Service in regards to what is allowed here on AVSIM and what is not (see Terms of Service under the Forums tab above).
  9. FSX loads every module in your dll.xml and exe.xml at startup. So, if your sim crashed after the splash screen, it is likely a module that caused the crash. Every module you have in the FSX main folder (a module is a file ending with .dll) loads too. Any file in your main directory that has a .ini extension will also load. I do not know if this program loaded a module in your main folder but you might take a look for recent installation of modules. When you install a product and a module is installed in your main FSX directory, it should show in Windows Explorer when that module was installed. That could give you a clue. Even though you uninstalled the product, remnants of the prior installation may still exist that is causing the issues. I do not think it could be the aircraft you installed as aircraft are not loaded at startup other than the default. After you select the aircraft, then FSX will begin loading the aircraft and the components. Most add-on programs have a poor uninstall procedure and not all components are uninstalled. I still doubt the addon from FlyAwaySimulations is the cause of your crashes even though the crashes started right after installation of the add-on. Still you did remove the fsx and scenery config and let those configs rebuild and moved the dll.xml and exe.xml to a temporary folder and you still had the crashes. The dll.xml and exe.xml are not installed by default and are not rebuilt. Only commercial add-on users use the dll.xml and exe.xml. If you have an outdated fsuipc.dll, that could cause a crash too after the splash screen. You have done everything possible to investigate and diagnose your crash and FSX still does not work. If none of the suggestions above work, I would uninstall FSX-SE completely and then reinstall as something got corrupted. Best regards, Jim
  10. I have read your comments again and again and believe there was some confusion I had as I had just posted pinned topics in the FSX and P3D forums asking for more volunteers to work in the AVSIM Library as Library Managers. I was assuming your were posting a topic about my actions to pin an ad asking for more volunteers to apply. It is why I got a bit upset with your topic and locked it immediately. The advertisement above the Library News in the AVSIM Library is AVSIM's contribution to a charity being put on by Flight Angels. We have rightly placed the banner on every page of AVSIM in order to advertise this charitable event. We have many other advertisements on this page too as we do throughout AVSIM. Many members simply sign in to the AVSIM Library and never sign in to the main site and the forums. Those ads will not be removed as it was a decision by the CEO and the Board of Directors to advertise throughout AVSIM and the AVSIM Library is part of AVSIM. I apologize for the confusion.
  11. When you enter the Library, you will get information on how to upload new files. I do not know what you mean by a departure from the old AVSIM. I am a moderator and I can pin a topic with any subject anywhere on AVSIM. If you have an issue with my ability to pin or place topics, please PM me. This topic is locked.
  12. Be a member of the AVSIM Team!! AVSIM is in need of more volunteers as Library Managers starting immediately (there will be a brief training period). More details, including requirements, duties, and how to apply at the following link - http://www.avsim.com...brary-managers/.

  14. Perhaps the following link in the screen shot forum will help - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  15. Our tech is currently working on the problem. Our site was under attack and specifically targeted. We hope the problem will be fixed soon. We know where the attack originated. There are many evil people lurking the Internet and fortunately there are many security systems used by AVSIM to avoid most attacks. We apologize for any inconvenience!
  16. Perhaps the following link here at AVSIM will help - http://www.avsim.com/topic/472977-dell-ultrasharp-u3415w-34-curved-monitor/?hl=%20u3415w I found hundreds of topics regarding this topic just searching this forum by using the following keyword - u3415w. Being a happy owner of this monitor, I highly recommend it. It has a great price too. I think most of the people called "experts" on the Internet say curved monitors are just a gimmick. The Dell 3415w is slightly curved and hard to see the curve. As in 16:9, the VC looks great at 21:9. I use a GTX 780 to power my two monitors (only the u3415w is used for FSX/P3D).
  17. Owners of the GTX 970 can now file claims for a $30 settlement. The website for filing claims is now up - https://www.gtx970settlement.com/Home.aspx. More details at link. Best regards, Jim
  18. You have an addon installed that was not developed for P3D and it is not working properly.
  19. The solution is possibly here - http://www.avsim.com/topic/481619-vfxcentral-ctd-unhandled-exception/ Best regards, Jim
  20. Well done! Like the Beaver! Looks like you're getting a nice upgraded system! I'm going to be looking soon too. Best regards, Jim
  21. Hopefully not. FSX works well in a default configuration w/o add-ons. Then we add the eye-candy add-ons and things go downhill fast if we're not careful with our settings. Best regards, Jim
  22. Topic locked.
  23. It appears your FSUIPC.dll needs updating. The lastest copy I have is version 4.955c. Best regards, Jim
  24. I just have the Orbx Regions installed and not the Orbx Global/Vector stuff so most likely the reason why I do not see this around Durango or anywhere else (so far!).
