According to the AVSIM CTD Guide (link in my signature): "Terrain.dll - Usually indicates high scenery/terrain settings in FSX/P3D, especially Autogen." So this fits your scenario too. Have your tried - just turning off Autogen and leaving the other settings normal? rebuilding your fsx.cfg (move to a temporary folder and the fsx.cfg will be rebuilt and return your settings to what the techs said was best for your computer system)? try the other suggestions in the AVSIM CTD Guide? (for instance, scan your system for corrupt system drivers, make sure your hardware drivers are all up to date?) Scenery not enabled in the scenery library will not run so they have no affect on your issue. The only clue you provided in your OP is the fact the terrain.dll was identified in the event viewer. It does not tell us the "rest of the story". Some other thoughts I have are - did you raise the REX settings to the max and also set your LOD_Radius to 6.5 and Texture_Max_Load to 4096? Not good... use any tweaks in your fsx.cfg? Really not good. do you have a very good computer system to run the "eye-candy" add-ons you indicate are installed? So, there is no known solution but you have the knowledge that everyone who has had the terrain.dll crash had their settings set too high and/or had "bad" tweaks installed in their fsx.cfg that took up even more valuable resources. You will just have to investigate your personal situation. It could be as easy as rebuilding your fsx.cfg because people employ tweaks over the use of their simulator that don't work as they were not employed correctly. Best regards,

Yes, rename br2_lszh.bgl to br2_lszh.orig or .old. The location of the scenery looks good. Best regards,

libcurl.dll unloaded
Jim Young replied to Federico Giacometti's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
This was discussed last year. Never resolved but it may have something to do with FSCrew - http://www.avsim.com/topic/466434-libcurldll-crash/ Best regards, -
Yes. You have to wait. MyTraffic6 is not going to fill up Zurich with AI aircraft immediately. AI has to follow flight plans and most of the aircraft are probably in the air when you first load your sim to Zurich. They will eventually start landing and taxi to the gates or, MyTraffic will eventually read all of the flight plan schedules and determine exactly what should be at Zurich at a certain time of the day. This is all in the Operations Manual, around page 18 and page 23 tells you about AI Traffic Density Settings. I set my traffic at 25%, sometimes as high as 30% and get lots of traffic. One of the ways I get traffic really going at an airport is to start up the default ATC program and request clearance (I can cancel clearance later). It's like the sim is programmed to get all kinds of AI taxiing and taking off and landing when you want to simply get to the departure runway and takeoff. The longer you sit at the gate configuring your FMC or G1000, the more AI that shows up. Probably my imagination but that's what it seems like. Same goes when you are using the default ATC to land. At busy airports like JFK, it's almost impossible to land without being told you are number 2 for landing. I also have MyTraffic6 located in my scenery.cfg just above the last default entry. In P3D, mine is located at area at area 117. Then all of my addon airports above that as MyTraffic6 has hundreds of airports included in their program that have AFCADS so that their aircraft can takeoff and land. I also disable any of the airports included with MyTraffic6 so that it does not conflict with add-on scenery so that could be the problem too. I don't really have any problems of not having enough aircraft at an airport. They do take up resources and, for payware airports, the eye-candy placed within the airport is already taking a lot. Best regards,
-
I would not worry about it at closure. It will eventually go away. AI_Player.dll – related to AI and the module that controls your AI (a commercial AI program or the default). Could be something wrong with an AI model or object. If you have MyTrafficX or 6, you can disable AI in the Scenery Library to see if this fixes the problem. If so, then this is the problem (a simple investigative technique). If you have another AI program installed, then disable that program to see if the program is causing your crashes. Problem has been seen occasionally in the Seattle area with FTX/Orbx Pacific Northwest. This was fixed and you should check the FTX/Orbx forums and search for AI_Player. Caused by freeware airports in the area that has static aircraft or their own AI aircraft and flight plans. Disable the add-on airport and see if problem is gone. If you have any FSDT, Flight Beam airports, do not disable them. They are not the problem. Some have fixed the problem around UK2000 EGKK by modifying the AFCAD option from “Airline Specific” to “Generic” but it results in airlines not parking at the correct terminals.

An overclock or too high/low cpu voltage would have been most likely a bugcheck code of 0124. -
There is no add-on that requires fsuipc. ASN will install it's own version of simconnect. Best regards,

fsx-ms FSX Tweak for 8320 and EVGA 670 FTW
Jim Young replied to anthonyss89's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
If there was a tweak for getting rid of "the blurries" someone would be very wealthy.... I totally agree with Bert. I would add that the best tweak is to lower the fsx and display driver settings (rebuilding the fsx.cfg will partially fix this problem). I would keep your default fps limit at 20 or 25. Why are your settings so high? What's there to see? "The Blurries" are caused by only one thing, too high settings for your computer. You could have the best computer ever built and it would still show "the blurries" (although not as much). You have to let your computer system breathe so that as many textures as possible can render in the quickest time possible. You want your cockpit to look good though! That's the most important as that's where you are sitting most of the flight. I also would like to see those "blurry" runways with a screenshot. Best regards, -
FSX-MS Is it possibble to pany around an airport in tower view?
Jim Young replied to RCITGuy's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Split after necroposting. -
You stated you did a repair for your installation of P3D so uninstalling/reinstalling will have no effect. It's one of your add-ons that is causing the problem. I suspect FSFX. If there is no way to disable your add-ons, then you will have to uninstall them until you find the one that is causing the problem. Did you know you can bring P3D back to the default installation? You move the p3d.cfg and scenery.cfg to a temporary folder. If you have a dll.xml or exe.xml, you move those too. Now restart P3D. This will return your installation to the default. Best regards,

How do i upload to Gallery, Files, Blog and Videos?
Jim Young replied to Poppet's topic in Hangar Chat
Those options are not currently available and most likely will not be reactivated as they were not popular. We'll have to take another look once the site is updated but the man-hours required to run and maintain those options was enormous and personally maintained by Tom. No one could upload any photos to the gallery without his personal approval. Same with the blog and videos. If you want to know how to use those functions though, we have a Help section (see the tiny "help" at the very bottom of this forum) and it explains what you have to do. We also had a Links section too which anyone could upload their links but no one visited the Links section (just like the Gallery and the Blogs and the Videos). Many of the hundreds of links were dead and the authors never returned to update them. Perhaps with the update to the website, more exciting features will be available but I doubt it. Meanwhile, checkout our Screenshot and Video forums. The videos that went into the Video section were put in the Video Forum first (thus a duplication in many cases). -
Major Installation issue P3D V 3.2
Jim Young replied to stratfordman10's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
You stated you removed all your add-ons in your OP. If you have a dll.xml in the same folder as your P3D.cfg, then move it to a temporary folder. Sounds like you brought some of your installation from the previous version back after do a clean install of the latest version. -
P3D 3.2 BSOD Win 10 64 report included
Jim Young replied to Angelo Cosma's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
I'm just saying that this error was fixed when several individuals went back to a previous version of their display drivers. Your drivers are older than the latest. The latest WHQL drivers are 364.72. EDIT: Wanted to add that a BSOD is pretty serious. It means a hardware issue (failing, not properly seated, bad drivers causing it to fail). You want to fix this as soon as possible as you could do serious damage to your computer. Best regards, -
P3D 3.2 BSOD Win 10 64 report included
Jim Young replied to Angelo Cosma's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
Did you scan your system for corrupted drivers as this is a driver issue? Use the System File Checker to look for corrupt/missing files (AKA - SFC \scannow) - If you are unfamiliar with the procedures to scan your system, please go to the following link for procedures depending on your Windows version - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833. Basically, you will use the Windows Search and search for ‘Run’, look up in the menu and open up your ‘Run’ command in elevated mode (right click and open with Administrator Rights). You then enter sfc \scannow and the press the enter key. This program will then scan your system for corrupted or missing files and replace them if any are found. Since you ran a driver updater and you updated your drivers (11 of them), it must be a corrupted system file. Bugcheck code 0139 indicates kernel security check failure. Several individuals at Nvidia indicated they were getting this error suddenly and they resolved it by going back to an earlier driver. Also make sure your video card is properly seated and all connections are snug. Best regards, -
P3d version 3.2 Stackhash
Jim Young replied to stratfordman10's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
You do not have to uninstall/reinstall everything associated with the AddonManager. Just download and run the latest Standalone Addon Manager and that will fix it. Every so often something happens with Couatl or other things associated with the Addon Manager and reinstalling the Addon Manager will fix it for sure. Best regards, -
[Updated 02/28/16] DFS/P3D/Flight/FSX Comparison Screenshots
Jim Young replied to HughesMDflyer4's topic in Hangar Chat
FSX SP2/Acceleration installed DX10 Preview. It was a rush job done by the FSX developers as Microsoft wanted to get Acceleration released as soon as possible. So they released Acceleration with DX10 Preview thinking that they would fix it later on in future updates. Microsoft released the team before future improvements could be made. In came Steve Parson's who found out why DX10 Preview was not working well and you saw flickering at most airport taxiways/runways and other anomalies. His "fixes" gave FSX a new life. FSX-MS PMDG 737ngx stopped initializing Blank displays
Jim Young replied to captain nuggo's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
If Ryan at PMDG cannot fix it, then not sure how someone here can help you. Submitting a trouble ticket is the best solution as there are software pirates that come to AVSIM or other user-to-user forums on the Internet and try to get assistance. Rebuilding your FSX.cfg cannot cause any addon not to work. Since Ryan is helping you with this problem, I'm going to lock and close this topic. -
P3D 3.2 BSOD Win 10 64 report included
Jim Young replied to Angelo Cosma's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
This is the probable solution - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff560129%28v=vs.85%29.aspx You should also run a Driver Update program such as the one I use - Driver Booster. It is freeware (but has a lot of nags to try to get you to purchase) but it works. Best regards, -

CTD on exit with possible causes
Jim Young replied to antonvs's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
Good news! Thanks for letting us know how you fixed your problem. Best regards, -
The only solution I know of is to make sure you have fx_1.bmp dated 7/2/2015 in your P3D Effects/Texture folder. The FSX version is dated in 7/26/2006. Same goes with fx_smoke.bmp. Some aircraft have special effects installed just for their aircraft. For instance I think some Carenado aircraft have their own smoke effects. When you replaced the effects with the FSX, you might have overwritten those that were installed for other aircraft or scenery. Best regards,

Embraer Prodigy FD 300 Pilot's Guide
Jim Young replied to TPerson's topic in EMB505 Phenom 300 HD Series for FSX | P3D
I apologize for confusing everyone with my "snarky" comments "followed by the obligatory 'Best regards'". I see now none of you considered my comments as 'tongue-in-cheek'. It's a big world and communications with people from all over the world can be misinterpreted. I made the comment "you want us to read a 676 page manual" because it is common knowledge in the flight simulation community that NO ONE reads the manual and members are constantly telling others to "read the manual!" or RTFM. I thought it would bring a smile but instead you all got very, very upset and decided to post some rude and uncomplimentary comments. Please do not do that again. This topic is locked. -
fsx-ms Looking for a new verstaile GA/Business jet

Our reviewers and other staff members can discuss products just like other members and I take exception to your comment "when Tom ran the place there was some sense that other reviewers exist besides Ray". An unfair statement for sure. Everyone has and still is treated fairly and equally here. There has been abusive and sarcastic comments made by all (commonly called trolling). Therefore this topic is closed. EDIT: I understand what exactly was meant by N400QW (Ron Hamilton) and perhaps I was a bit harsh. It was just his comments about when Tom ran the place that got me all excited. Ron is right that AVSIM awarded the Gold Star to his CX2.0 and it was well-deserving as it is an excellent product. Our staff members should stay out of the fray in discussions like this and I apologize to Ron for Ray's comments. -
Okay, I know I misspelled "missteak" but wanted to get your attention and apologize for something else. I and some of the other moderators have been moderating the Ask Dovetail Games about DTG Flight School & Flight Simulator topic. We hid the posts we thought were not asking a question and thus off-topic. We received a lot of complaints about the topic going off-topic with rants and other observations about the new products. So, this morning I decided to move all of those hidden posts to a new topic entitled "Some off-topic posts from the Ask DTG Topic" or something like that. There were 291 posts. I planned on bringing all those posts back to life once the hidden posts were moved to the new topic. The system told me I did good and should get a gold medal for excellence (well, something like that) but, when I looked for the new topic, it was not there. Did a refresh of the site and still not there. Went backwards and found the page where I clicked "split the selected posts" and tried it again but still the same thing. Nothing... I ended up doing a search (our search system works great again!) and found the topic title but no posts inside the topic. Evidently the system ate them, all 291 posts. So I apologize for the error. I have learned though that you cannot move hidden posts or topics. They go into oblivion. In any case, the Ask DTG topic is down from 40 pages to just 20 pages now and consists of mainly questions and answers which should make going through that topic a bit easier. Perhaps someday I'll find those posts and bring them back to life but it does not look good as I have done some pretty extensive research already. Still there's always that hope. If you have observations (just observations) about the new DTG product(s), please post them in separate topics. You can even copy the quote from DTG Martin and place it into a new topic and make your comments. But, let's try to keep the questions and answers in just one place to make it a bit easier for our members to read the topic. Best regards,
