  1. There were founded in 1997 and here is their Wiki - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision_Manuals_Development_Group Best regards,
  2. Good to know that DSR mode can do this. So, how do we tell the OP how to fix his problem? You think he has his video card set to DSR? I've never used DSR. I suspect the OP only needs to return his video card settings to the default? Hopefully your solution can help the OP fix his problem and he can get back to enjoying P3D. Best regards,
  3. You can delete the scenery.cfg and it will be rebuilt back to the default. If your scenery.cfg did not load, you would have no scenery. I've never heard of an empty page when you bring up the Scenery Library but, be assured, the scenery is there. You just cannot see the various entries as something else is wrong with your installation. If FTX Global, LC, and Vector are supposed to be in the Scenery.cfg, then I would go to FTX Central and return the scenery to the default. Run P3D once and then shutdown and then go to FTX Central and enable these areas. Addon scenery, like FlyTampa will not show up as there is no installer for FlyTampa Athens for P3D3.2. That's not really a problem because, if you had FlyTampa Athens installed on your computer and you did not delete it, then you just need to use the Scenery Library to add the scenery. When you click on Add, you just browse to the directory where the scenery is located and it should then show up in your Scenery Library. Do the same for all of your other addon sceneries Personally, when I installed P3D using the complete package, I got all of my scenery connected and viewable in P3D. I did not have to reinstall any addon scenery. I had saved my old scenery.cfg that was used in previous versions of P3D and moved it into the P3D folder where the scenery.cfg is located. Every scenery I own showed up and I had no problems. I was flying in seconds after installing the complete package of P3D (again, a couple of years ago). This iteration, I just installed the client and that was even faster getting setup to fly and enjoy the simulator. Hope this helps. Best regards,
  4. We use the BBCode system here and you have to click on the link icon and paste the link into the box. Here's the Wiki link - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andorra%E2%80%93La_Seu_d'Urgell_Airport Here is a link to the Orbx scenery - https://fullterrain.com/freeware/global I'm still not sure what you are trying to accomplish but I will move it back to the Hangar Chat.
  5. I just used the search term "a local Kebab House" and this forum popped up as one hit. You have to hit the cog to the right of the search function to get to the advanced search engine. Once there, the search function works perfectly.
  6. The advanced search function does work perfectly. This is all documented in the Help Using the Forums Forum. Best regards,
  7. Thanks for the heads-up. Is there a link? What simulator does it work. FSX, FSX-SE, P3D? I am moving this to the FSX Forum as there is a forum for topics like this. A link to the scenery would be nice or a comment that it can be found in the AVSIM Library. I do not allow links to the "other" flightsim libraries. Best regards,
  8. According to Google, the file does not exist. Turn off AVG and go fly. Best regards,
  9. This is normal. Happens with every installation of FSX. You cannot run FSX with Aero turned on as it is incompatible so Aero (which is part of the Windows OS) shuts down. When you finish with FSX, Aero will turn back on. Here's a link to further discussions regarding Aero as some force Aero to stay on as vsync won't work with it off - http://www.avsim.com/topic/443500-will-aero-affect-performance/(life is complicated...) Okay, let's check out your crash. The faulting module is the g2d.dll. Here's what the AVSIM CTD Guide says about that (this data was collected from various places around the Internet): G2D.dll - The g2d.dll is indicated as the faulting module in the crash report. This module handles plain text messages, like the frame rate counter and those other plain text messages you see periodically while running FSX and the plain text words in the FSX Menu, like the words Options, View, etc. There may be something corrupted in your dll.xml which loads menu items. It has been fixed by rebuilding the FSX.cfg (deleting or renaming the FSX.cfg and then restarting FSX). Some others have fixed this problem by uninstalling/reinstalling the video card drivers or going back to a previous version. Hope this helps. Best regards,
  10. They are unaffected. Best regards,
  11. Split from a necropost from 2011 and into a new topic.
  12. You should never run any anti-virus program when running FSX or installing FSX. AVG is probably the worse anti-virus program as it finds the most false-positives. Follow the many FSX installation guides or you will only have many, many problems. Go into your AVG program and exempt the FSX folder from anti-virus scanning. Best regards,
  13. How did you know it was your video card causing the crash? Did you see an error? There are other hardware errors that can cause your system to crash to a black screen. Even a bad module in your dll.xml (you would most likely see the crash when starting P3D if this was the case). You need to check the event viewer to see if the crash(es) are related to your video card. The following from the draft updated AVSIM CTD Guide being updated: Check the Windows 7/8/10 Event Viewer – The Windows Event Viewer can provide a wealth of information regarding your CTD or information about your crash that may not have been recorded in a Windows Error Report. Plus there could be other problems being reported that need to be fixed that could be causing your application crashes. You can get to your Windows Event Viewer by going to the Windows Search Box, type ‘Event’ and then look up in the Menu and click on Event Viewer. Once open, click on Custom Views > Administrative Events. You should immediately see an error report. Double-click on it and then, in the lower left corner, click on Copy and then paste the report here. Make sure the video card is not overclocked in any way. Roll back the drivers to an earlier version if you have not done so already. The fact the longer you leave the computer running, the longer it seems to be taking to crash is an indicator as your system continues to load drivers. I would also download a driver updater. I use Driver Booster which is freeware. Just an out of date USB port could cause problems. Welcome back! Best regards,
  14. The report indicates you have SP2 installed and you only installed FSX Deluxe. I would uninstall SP2 and reinstall. You do this by going to the Add/Remove Programs and selecting FSX. It will not uninstall FSX or mess with your fsx.cfg or scenery.cfg as it was just an update. Make sure UAC and any anti-virus program is off and then try to reinstall with admin privileges. When FSX crashes during startup, it means the dll.xml is not loading a module correctly, the module is not there, or it is corrupted. That's what happens when you first start up FSX. Your modules are loaded. You did not indicate if you had any addons installed. PMDG adds a module to the dll.xml. The fsuipc.dll adds a module. Run a driver updater if you have not already. Just a bad USB port driver could cause this problem. I use Driver Booster which is freeware. I'm a little concerned with the fact you stated you uninstalled your MSV's and dotnets. Not good. However, you have the proper version of Microsoft Visual C++2005 w/SP1 installed. Good! I did not see where Microsoft.net 1.1 or 2.0 was loaded in your crash report. Check to make sure one of these are installed. Microsoft.net 1.1 is installed when you first install FSX Deluxe and Windows Update will upgrade to 2.0. If you have any addons that require Microsoft Visual 2008 w/SP1, then that module did not load. Some older programs require MSV 2008 w/SP1 but it did not load. Your crash report is the first one I've seen where MSV 2008 did not load. Hope this helps. Best regards,
  15. I split your post from a 2008 topic with the same subject. In the future, if you want to start a new topic, just look at the right corner of a forum, say, the FSX Forum and it will say, "Start New Topic". Click on that and then enter your subject and then type in your questions or comments. Welcome to AVSIM! We'll help you get things going here. I know it can be quite daunting the first few days of membership. BTW, you were necroposting and that is frowned upon throughout the Internet. Not to worry here as we have Moderators who are trained to split posts from topics and set you straight. Charliearon is correct. You have to download SP1 and then SP2 from the Internet. Once you do that, you right click the SP1.exe and select Run as Administrator. If it is saying the content that you want to use is in a CD-ROM then maybe you did not fully install FSX. You should also run FSX at least one time before you try installing SP1 or SP2. If you have Acceleration, you do not install SP1 or SP2 as SP1 is included and SP2 is the freeware version of Acceleration. Best regards,
  16. I totally agree Pete but some members do not want to spend a lot of money on an aircraft and the CS version is a good alternative. I'm happy to hear you like the PMDG version. Best regards,
  17. This topic is getting a lot of attention because it is posted in the wrong forum. Time to move it on to the proper Hardware Forum.
  18. You only get 4GB's of Virtual Address Space (VAS) (a Windows Operating System limitation, not FSX-SE). If you have high settings, that can take up VAS fast. I doubt it is just the scenery but a combination of your settings and what you have loaded too. You can go into the Scenery Library and disable your scenery and see if this fixes the problem. But, it could be a false positive in that the scenery works okay but you have a lot of other things running too. Best regards,
  19. You go to the Route page and hit the Request button. There will be no saved flight plans as you haven't saved any yet but there will be an option for FSFltPlns. I have several flight plans I have created for FSX and copied them over to the P3D Flight Plan folder (My Documents\Prepard3D v3 Files) so I was able to load a flight plan of choice. If you have no Flight Plans in your P3D folder, then you will have to create a flight from scratch and enter the departing and arrival airports, then, what I do is go to the Dep/Arr Page and select a SID for departure and enter the R/W I will be departing. Then I will click on the Dep/Arr Page and go to the Arr Page (you have to click on Index to get to the Arr Page as the default is the Dep Page). I then enter the STAR and R/W I'll be landing at. I then activate this route and then look at the Legs Page and make sure there are no discontinuities (there will be at least one discontinuity in the flight plan, including a Vector which I get rid of). Once the flight plan is completed then I go to the Perf page and hit the Request button and it will fill in all of the entries except the reserve tank and I usually put a 5 in there. I'll look at what they recommend for flight level as I like to go no higher than FL240 and "Operations" usually wants me to go higher (when you hit the Request button, the info is being electronically transmitted from your airline headquarters). I then go to the last page and set my flaps to 15 and then click next to each speed recommended for takeoff. I then go to the Legs page so I can monitor the flight. Hope this helps. Best regards,
  20. What was the scenario (i.e., aircraft, scenery, weather?, time of day)? If the scenario was different from the default, then it could be an addon that doesn't like what you are doing. Was there an error created? This way we can try to recreate to see if it happens to us too. I just tried to create the CTD using the default scenario. I tried 20 times with alt+enter and no crash. Best regards,
  21. Hi Paul, Yes, agree. I was worried I would have to eat my comments I made earlier in post #10. Best regards,
  22. As I stated, the performance, FPS, VAS usage is all about the same (according to the FSUIPC.log): The CS777 first - and now the PMDG777 - The CS777 was recently upgraded to v1.7 and I really enjoy the fact you can now request your flightplan in the FMC (like the PMDG) and request Performance data (like in the PMDG). Makes programming the FMC's a bit easier. Now, what am I going to do with all of these 777's installed in P3D.... Hope this helps. Best regards,
  23. I own both the PMDG 777 and CS 777 for P3D. Both work great and I see little to no difference in fps. I do not see how anyone can tell the difference in frame rates for these aircraft as it all depends on your POV and system. I think the PMDG VC is a bit harder on FPS but that's I could never tell you how I feel that way. If it is a nice and sunny day with no clouds out, the fps in the PMDG 777 are great. If the weather outside is bad, the FPS in the PMDG 777 are bad. If I do a side view, it gets better, if I look straight at the VC, FPS suffer but you can go into the settings and change the performance settings if they are not good. The FMC has always been difficult to program for many but both versions handle well when the FMC is in use. The major difference between the developers is the price. If I get a chance, I'll do a flight using the fsuipc log to measure the fps for a short flight for each aircraft. Best regards,
  24. The PMDG Options dll is related to the PMDG 747 and means the dll was not properly installed or the dll.xml has a corrupted entry. Most get this crash on startup which indicates the dll.xml is at fault. The g3d.dll was supposedly fixed by DTG when they released FSX-SE. I know, for FSX, the fsuipc.dll traps this error and you won't get the crash. I do not own FSX-SE so do not know if the fsuipc.dll traps this error for FSX-SE too. The terrain.dll error usually indicates high scenery/terrain settings, especially Autogen. Your system cannot keep up. See the AVSIM CTD Guide (see link in my signature) for more suggestions for fixing CTD's. Best regards,
  25. Split from a very old post about the most boring long-haul flights. It is best to start a new topic if you want to discuss things like this as old posts are, well, old posts and many members do not like to read old posts. It's 'necroposting' and frowned upon almost everywhere on the Internet. Thanks for your cooperation and welcome to our community. Best regards,
