Just to be clear, OOM's are not related to your video card and RAM. Just Virtual Address Space which is limited to 4GB's on all 64 bit operating systems. Best regards,

CTDs After Upgrading to Windows 10!
Jim Young replied to Flaps30's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
The problem with upgrading to a new OS is that there are several bugs in much of the hardware. Hardware manufacturers haven't updated all of their products to the new OS yet so many will suffer crashes until the products are updated. So, what you are experiencing are timeouts from a USB connection or a throttle or a mouse or any other HID device. It could also be a problem with other hardware connected to your system. A USB port. Your SSD or your HDD. Nothing wrong with FSX as many have successfully upgraded and have no problems. I would recommend running a driver updater. I use driver booster which is freeware but has nags for you to buy the product. It will still scan your system and download and install updated device drivers though. Windows Update mostly updates the OS when bugs are discovered. Your problem is likely your hardware. Best regards, -

fsx-ms Is a Registry Cleaner Necessary?
Jim Young replied to Flaps30's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
This entry should be rebuilt but I'm surprised a registry cleaner would remove this entry even if the parameter is empty. If the parameter is needed and not seen when you load the Dash 8, I'm sure the software will enter it again. My registry cleaner, Advanced System Care, removes all of the Flexnet Licensing Service and Nalpeiron Licensing Service entries and they are used by FSX/P3D developers. No problems as the entries are rebuilt and I'm deleting them every time I run the registry cleaner. Best regards, -

CIVAC.gau CTD P3D v3.1.2.15831 Concorde X 1.31
Jim Young replied to kristolz's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
Hi Lefteris, Apologize for that but isn't the CIVA gauge part of the Concorde? In any case, the individual indicated the crashes were appearing only when he was using the Concorde. In our CTD Forum, it is very difficult for us to troubleshoot a crash when we know it has something to do with a third-party product such as the Concorde. Same goes with any PMDG or FSDT or an Aerosoft product. If the crash is associated with PMDG, we recommend the individual contact PMDG or we'll move it to the appropriate forum (FSX or P3D), depending on the sim in use, in hopes the problem will get more attention and thus a faster resolution. In the CTD Forum, we are mainly dealing with the ntdll.dll, api.dll, stackhashes, ai_player.dll, etc., type crashes. I would have done the same for a PMDG or Aerosoft product if the member indicated it only happens with one of those products and the error indicates too that a module belonging to PMDG or Aerosoft caused the crash. I suppose I could have stated he would get a faster resolution in the P3D Forum and for that I apologize. Not meaning to demean your product or others in any way. Thank you for your many contributions to the community over the years! It is greatly appreciated. You are one of the best! Best regards, -
Getting an 404 error. File not found. Best regards,

You should never have your anti-virus program running when installing any addon. You should exclude your antivirus program from scanning your FSX folder. Anti-virus programs give out false positives for some FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D addons. There do not contain viruses. Just go to your antivirus program and exclude the folder then reinstall the product. If you do not exclude your folder from being scanned by the anti-virus program, your anti-virus program will quarantine a required file for Level-D forever. You should also make sure your User Access Controls are disabled as they provide security and sometimes will not allow certain files or registry items to be installed with your product. The Level-D is a really old product and old products usually get hit with false positives. Hope this helps. I moved your post here in the Level-D forum as you posted in the "Help Using the Forums". There might be other posts in this forum that will provide more information about this. Best regards,

fsx-ms Is a Registry Cleaner Necessary?
Jim Young replied to Flaps30's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
I use the Advanced System Care 9 program and run the registry cleaner at least weekly. I'm like Rich above and mostly just use the registry cleaner. I use the "Deep Clean" feature in Advanced System Care but that comes only with the payware version. FYI, Windows will not allow certain system registry entries to be deleted so not even the registry cleaners can remove them. Best regards, -
If an issue, I'm sure Google will pull the YouTube video and deny access and therefore the video cannot be viewed any longer. I took a quick look at the video and IMHO not impressed with "Horizon". Maybe it's the bad acting but not impressed. Uh, it could be my age too.... Best regards,

No navdata on G1000 MFD
Jim Young replied to UIWM's topic in EMB505 Phenom 300 HD Series for FSX | P3D
Did you install Navigraph as per the discussions at the following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479500-carenado-emb505-phenom-300-hd-series-prepar3d-v3/page-3#entry3359580? The data has to be imported into the G1000 and it does not appear it was in your case. Plus you need to use the Carenado G1000 which is the right screen. That's the screen where you enter all of the data, etc. Best regards, -
Pre Purchase Questions
Jim Young replied to tjrush's topic in EMB505 Phenom 300 HD Series for FSX | P3D
I am not sure what issues you are talking about. I have v1.3 and you still cannot install the Navigraph addon or the Phenom 300 directly into P3Dv3.1 as it does not recognize it. You still have to point the installer to P3D's directory but the files required for installation will be place on C:\Program Files (x86)\Carenado Installer. From there you simply move the files over to the appropriate directory where P3D is installed. I use the Phenom 300 with most of my flights now and have some problems entering a flight plan but I eventually get mostly there. For instance, entering the takeoff runway or the SID. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Using the Proc key works better. Carenardo has stated they will update all of their products to v2.0 and I hope this comes soon for Navigraph and the Phenom 300. Also hope you saw the excellent review done here at AVSIM! Best regards, -
CIVAC.gau CTD P3D v3.1.2.15831 Concorde X 1.31
Jim Young replied to kristolz's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
The cause of the crash is the Concorde and you will have to go to the developer of the product and get support or post your problem in the P3D Forum. To help you, I will move this topic over to the P3D Forum as you know exactly what is causing your crashes. Best regards, -
Fully understand Stuart. I just happened to read your post and it just smacked me in the face and thought I had to say something. I would love to see the "blurries" completely gone especially since many have high powered computer systems but superfast rendering is not happening. I personally have very clear crisp graphics for P3D w/o tweaks but, occasionally, I get the blurries back. I turned off shadowing and that has been my fix. One has to look at everything being rendered in a scene, shadows, clouds, water, autogen and see which one is creating the most problems for rendering a scene. I appreciate your input in this topic in any case! Best regards,
-
So it doesn't work for you with those settings? I appreciate the advice you are providing but we need to know if it works or not. Personally I don't use tweaks and, if there are any tweaks that might work, the benefits are minuscule. Let your computer breathe and turn down your sliders a bit. It is not as powerful as you think. The OP's image shows cloud shadows. Turn off cloud shadows. I think that's a major performance hit. Just leave shadows on for your internal and external simobjects. You can then play with the sliders in other areas to try to get the best visuals possible. But tweaks are not going to make it. If a tweak worked, I strongly believe LM would have recommended the settings or put the settings into the default configuration as they want the best visuals possible. It would be nice though if someone could come up with one of these tweaks, turn up the sliders for the eye-candy and the images are perfectly clear. Best regards,
-
Well, since you have pinpointed the cause of the CTD is Radar 2.0 and or FS Panel Studio, you would get better support by posting in the appropriate forum (FS9). So I will move it there as the users of FS9 seem to have an in-depth knowledge of FS9 and the associated add-ons. Best regards,

I really do not think this is the proper forum. Trying to use SweetFX in DX10 Preview is possible - https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/1089/ as some others have done it but I heard it is very difficult. AVSIM has a SweetFX forum where you might find a preset that works for you. I think there were many discussions about SweetFX in the DX10 Forum here too. It appears the cause of the API.dll crashing is SweetFX. The api.dll is used to run FSX properly. Never heard of getting a CTD when you select 'show desktop' but almost sure it is because you are using an older version of the API.dll, or have parts and pieces of the SweetFX hack installed which is making it difficult for FSX to work properly. Please do not discuss SweetFX issues in this forum. Go to our SweetFX forum. Thanks. Best regards,

Phenom 300 Navigraph software
Jim Young replied to Wills2011's topic in EMB505 Phenom 300 HD Series for FSX | P3D
I hit enter after entering the departure and it always shows as the departure. Then I enter the arrival and hit enter and it shows the departure and arrival in proper order. I then enter procedures. I do have problems entering a departure runway or SID and have to use the lower GCU 477 unit and that seems to work most of the time. But the key is to hit the Enter key after entering the departure and arrival airports. I have flown this aircraft so many times now entering a flight plan and it always works for me but it took me a couple of times before I realized I had to hit enter after entering the departure airport. I did go on YouTube to do some learning of G1000 and did not see the adverse reports. I agree there are glitches but it does work. Whenever I enter a procedure for landing, it works flawlessly and I can almost keep my hands off the controls. So, you already knew there were problems but you were trolling in hopes someone would come on and trash the product? If you knew the product didn't work as the FlightOne product, why troll? Just post that such and such does not work in the Carenado G1000 and it works perfectly in a Flight One product. No reason to troll. Plus trolling is a violation of our Terms of Service so be careful. Write exactly what is wrong with the product and go through the procedures you took so others can try to replicate or provide better advice on how to program the G1000. Best regards, -
Changing Settings Causing P3D 3.1 CTD
Jim Young replied to fallout3's topic in Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum
You need to submit an AppCrashView report or a report from the Event Viewer (see AVSIM CTD Guide, page 1 and 2) (see link in my signature). Hopefully it will provide more information about the crash. Also list your system specs as that might help us too. Best regards, -
Phenom 300 Navigraph software
Jim Young replied to Wills2011's topic in EMB505 Phenom 300 HD Series for FSX | P3D
Not sure what you are asking. All G1000 gauges are modelled the same way for all aircraft. Do not think Flight 1 or Carenado would change the method. They all have exactly the same buttons. The Carenado G1000 is exactly like the real one too. Best regards,
