Hello,
I've ran into an issue where there is no difference between mag/true variation (in this instance using panel switch on the 747) with my PMDG aircraft add-ons. Yesterday, made a flight from Munich (EDDM) to Cologne-Bonn (EDDK). Everything was fine. Later, I tried to go from Grantley Adams (TBPB) to Ft. Lauderdale (KFLL) and noticed the runway (090 mag) was 20 degrees to the right. Compass card heading was 076 degrees (14 degree difference) while lined up on the runway. The MAG/TRU switch gave no relief. Again, the compass card did not move when the switch was actuated.
Troubleshooting done so far:
- Reloaded previous AIRAC (1210) cycle from Navigraph - no success
- Reloaded current AIRAC (1211) cycle back - no success
- Moved aircraft to KSFO (there's about 15 degrees magnetic variation difference there) to seek a change - no success
- Lastly, a strange observance on the PMDG 747 FMC - 'last GPS position' initial screen is locked on to Madrid (LEMD), Spain (N40.29.8W003.33.8)for some reason and it won't go away, no matter where in the world the aircraft is positioned these coordinates shows up on this screen...and that's even after leaving the program and coming back into it later in the day.
- Is there a 'common file' all PMDG aircraft share that might cause this?
This effects my MD-11/-11F, B737-600 thru 900, B747-400/400F add-ons (all FS9) which were all loaded via disk except for the MD-11/-11F.
Additional Information: My Quality Wings 757, Level D 767, and PSS aircraft installs are working fine and also work in the area(s) I'm currently experiencing problems.
