Do you still buy scenery or aircraft for P3D?
philmurfin replied to Rein2's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
What sort of problems are you getting and what program are you using? I usually use Ortho4P3d at ZL 17 or 18, I'm not getting any problems. -

I still buy aircraft and utilities however, I don't buy scenery as I make my own ortho scenery. -
You are one heck of an inspiration Noel, Thank You!

That shows true dedication to the cause, well done you! -
I found them to be misleading it terms as to how many licences are needed to be purchased, may be it was just me? However, when I contacted the company. I found them quite arrogant and I certainly will not spend my money with them again.

You're an impressive fella Noel. It's people like you that make the world go around, it' seems it's also people like you that go around the world Well done and all the very best to you Noel Phil

Just be careful as to what they are actually offering, I got caught out by them.

Any way to have Ortho only
philmurfin replied to philmurfin's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
That's exactly what I want to do yes but that method does not clear the airports, it covers everything else but it doesn't touch the airports. -
Does anyone have any advice please as to whether it is possible to have a purely ortho set-up, with ortho sitting on top of the default airports. I much prefer to see genuine photo scenery to the model alternative. This is just my opinion, so I'm not expecting everyone or even anyone to agree with me. We all have our own ways of looking at things. I'd just like to know if it's possible please? Thanks - Phil

Quote, "Who wants to fly a world where it represents just one snapshot in time"? Yes please, a one time image to me is far more realistic than the Lego brick alterative that has never even existed. Phil -

I find ARC, USA2, and Here to be the best colour wise however, their imagery is not as sharp as that from Bing or Google but is still still way ahead of Orbx ortho. Phil -

Likewise, I don't desire any personal nonsense. In my opinion, ortho at ZL 17 or 18 from Bing, Google, Arc etc is faraway superior to that of the Orbx base. Best .. Phil -

I feel that ORBX base scenery leaves so, so much to be desired. This should be compared to the far better freely available DIY Ortho with or without Orbx childlike plastic Lego models on top -

I like your idea, it's good. On the subject of photo scenery, surely ortho scenery is the way to go, as in X-Plane. It is time consuming but at the end of the day it's worth it, I have the whole of the UK and for me, it simply transforms P3d. Best .. Phil -
Lets just agree to disagree and to not shout or cry about it. Very Best .... Phil

The human brain works many things however, my personal model of the human brain won't let me forget if I have a heavy uncomfortable alien device strapped to my head. To be honest, I have felt quite claustrophobic when I've ever tried VR, they are certainly not for me I'm afraid, not even if they were giving them away. I can appreciate what you get out of VR and I really hope they continue to evolve and give you even more pleasure however, VR is not for everyone

For me, Tobli is far more natural than having a VR set strapped around my head. Also, personally they make me feel ill very quickly, plus you look stupid. Best .... Phil
