  1. Carenado for general aviation and a2a for warbirds!
  2. My only question... I have a i5 3570k on a z77 at 4.3 ghz on air. Nice an cool, great frames, etc... Why do you have a i7 3770k at 3.5?!?! Or is this a typo?
  3. Carenado for General aviation, a2a for old war birds b17, p51 etc
  4. Like Adam said thats another good point on the 212 cooler, buy the extra fan and clip it to the other side. I still only have one, i need to get the second still. The only thing i see in regards to the next chip coming out is how deep are your pockets. Anyone remember the price of the i7's when they first came out?! lol
  5. Yeah i didn't see the point in paying te extra $50 for an i7 when the i5 3570k is so overclockable. I didnt know about the 2500k good information. Im happy at my 4.3ghz, my next buy will be a new gpu, hoping maybe a 670-680
  6. Wow i didn't catch the memory either.. Your looking at probably $229 for a i7 3770k, asrock z77 extreme4 ran me $97, hyper212 like he said is a great cooler. I am using it, good temps and im overclocked on a i5 3570k to 4.3 ghz.
  7. Considering your at 3.2ghz i would honestly highly recommend the upgrade. Your ram is great, gpu is good, (480gtx the last two numbers really matter, 70's and 80's are good nvidia gpus for fsx) and i think you would see a nice boost since you don't seem to have any other bottlenecks. Ideally for fsx 4.5 ghz is great and i've heard 5.2 is achievable so i would go for it. Make sure you get a 3770k, not 3770 that is crucial to overclocking well and buy at least a hyper 212 $30 cooler to replace stock with it. Oops!!! I just noticed the board you have is a socket 1366. Unfortunatly you will have to upgrade to a new board also. I use a asrock z77 extreme4 but the i7 3770k is a socket 1155 so your motherboard is not compatible with the newer cpu.
  8. Hey wow that is a close match, seems though the addon company offering this aircraft for fsx only uses military models with gun turrets :( i dod manage to find a fax 12a electra that has the Amelia edition livery used on the hollywood movie "Amelia" i think the junior electra addon might do it.
  9. The trick is not the route but where do you find a addon aircraft, the lockheed electra 10e. I cant find one anywhere
  10. ...When you spent more on your "simpit/home built cockpit" than your car... lol
  11. Hey guys thanks for the replies, i do know that in a few places you can see birds, especially in orbx scenery but its not the "visuals" im looking for. Everywhere i go i wish i could load the sim and before cranking the plane open the windows and hear highway sounds, crickets chirping at night, cicadas, owls at night, birds chirping, etc. before engine starts i question if my speakers are on fax is so quiet at times... I will try your suggestion firehawk but i think i will have to find a addon to get what i want or design one myself lol.
  12. Okay yall so i have rex, utx, gex, orbx for AU, and some other addon a/c but ive noticed something missing. Where are the birds?? With engines off and windows open its too quiet... Any ideas? I looked at accu feel 2 but it dosnt add enviroment like birds and such.
  13. Sounds like a nice rig kevin! Thanks for the information. So your running two 570's in sli and you would trade those for a single 580? Will it be that much of a difference? Sounds like alot of trouble for one series up? I'm running the i5 3570k oc to 4.3 and as stated earlier i'll definitly be upgrading my video card for triple monitors. Just an update to my simpit i finally after years of simming broke down and used a keyboard layout so i can finally have easy access to the multitude of controls. As yall can see i havnt purchased two of the saitek panels i want yet so im using stickers lol.
  14. Can't believe for such a historical plane that is a true beauty really there isn't any good models, i've searched google and can't find much of anything decent for FSX. Supposedly someone screennamed Vitus was working on a very nice one but it seemed to of "vanished into thin air" (sorry... Had to do it)
  15. I run a i5 3570k overclocked to 4.3, but if you can get to 4.5-5.0 I've read some posts by nickn its even better. Definitely cpu hungry...

  17. Hey everyone, so I've searched avsim and havn't found much on this. Does anyone know of any good lockheed electra 10e's similar to Amelias last flight a/c? My main thing is it having a decently accurate vc as that's where i spend 95% of my time. I am hoping to recreate her flight including all legs in fsx. Thanks!
  18. Hey if only we had more time to fly right? lol i had some home remodeling projects that combined with work and family seriously kept me away from fsx between 2011-2012. Anyhow if you get a chance i would love to know your systems specs and video card setup.
  19. Hey kevin thanks a ton for the video! Looks nice and smooth, i also have a trackir5, you should look into one, awesome for looking around the cockpit. What are your pc specs, specifically video card setup with NVsurround? Thanks!
  20. I still love the vc but maybe eventually i can part with it :(
  21. Love the shot of the two ww2 fighters. Quick question, do you just press the default keyboard command (v) to take your screenshots? I do this and when i look at them later they look too bright, like their is a bright haze over the image, my screenshots look nothing like what i see while flying.
  22. So as i can tell by yalls posts my graphics card may have to be upgraded. Currently i am running a intel i5 3570k overclocked to 4.3ghz, 8 GB ddr3, 150gb veliciraptor hdd plus an extra for add-ons, and a 1 GB nvidia GTX 550ti. So i may want to upgrade my graphics card first, what do you guys think about SLI on two 550ti's? Anyways i also planned on buying three identical monitors as i figured different refresh rates and color displaying abilities could cause a headache later. Thanks for the tips and ill post updates when i have the new monitors. So just to clarify with a good enough nvidia GTX video card (such as 670,680) i won't need a triple head to go box to use three monitors i can just install Nvidia's NVsurround software and thats it? You mentioned even better frame rates? Thats $300 less i spend on a adapter box and $300 more i can spend on a quality gpu. Thanks y'all! lol about my copilot, he gets a doggy bone for every successful landing! Discounted rates from ATL to DC, anyone interested? Haha
  23. Also the simdesk has a "nosecone" than holds the main pc and wiring goes to. More detailed photos: Anyhow when yall get a chance any and all answers/opinions to my first questions much appreciated!
  24. I hold a private pilots license flying mainly the new model cessna 172 (no g1000 experience)
