  1. Because XPlane 11 doesn't run well with my SLI config (I tried it) I'm not interested. Those shots are beautiful, but if I have to update hardware for it, forget it.
  2. I'm just parroting something I read once about 32bit vs 64bit in a different context.
  3. There should be about an 8% performance benefit in the port, but that can be taken up by just managing the new memory range, going by the raw numbers for any port. Memory still MUST be managed well in a 64bit application, particularly if you want a smooth flow of data.
  4. I'm hoping for DirectX 12. Seems everyone has forgotten about that possibility and the "world" it opens. 64bit will definitely improve performance, but the best place to dig for performance gold would be in DirectX 12, no? (Sadly, I'm also hoping to recover about 1.2TB of photoscenery I had on a partition that Partition Magic messed up on me. Not sure what else was on there. Was trying to expand the partition to use the whole 1.8TB of the drive when something went wrong. Not sure of PM was moving files to the front of the drive to where the other now deleted partition was, or if it will still be in the original location as part of how it handles the partition expansion. I guess I'm about to learn.)
  5. It just occurred to me the great irony of asking a Defense Contractor where the love is. LOL
  6. C'mon guys. The target market isn't a person or group of people. The target market is a spirit, man.
  7. Man, LM runs a tight ship. They hold secrets better than the Whitehouse.
  8. They probably ran out. Not up to full production speeds yet.
  9. That doesn't seem to work for me. I have a Developer version.
  10. V4 Victory! (thanks VGBaron) But LM staff, or at least their web design guy, must have mommy issues. :)
  11. I know it's Mother's day, and I shouldn't be sitting in front of the puter all day doing deep searches for V4 info, but I found this (and wife is taking a well deserved nap): https://fselite.net/news/prepar3d-v4-logos-assets-found-official-website/ Are these the first glints of light at the end of the tunnel? Happy Mother's day everyone. (Kid is watching back to back Super Wings episodes on my right monitor in a chair from mom's desk)
  12. Some of what I'm getting out of this is that there is good reason why 32bit P3d was never quite "perfected" as there isn't a point to a laser focus on tidying up memory after use if going to 64bit. All of that concern is gone. Concentrating on getting the right "rhythm" before use does have a point. Since P3d calculations aren't that complex, there are just a huge many of them, there isn't a huge bonus in speed if they aren't neatly regulated.
  13. Anyways, awesome sum up Rob. Much food for thought. Got me all googly eyed. Thanks once again.
  14. Here is one without the quote. This was happening after closing and opening Chrome. heh.
  15. As a developer, I can only elude to what an incredible waste of time and money, personnel and client morale, it would be to go to 64bit only to continue to support the 32bit version to be forced on your most enthusiastic and helpful users. Prepar3d is one of the facets of Lockheed PR. Make no mistake about it, making a top notch simulator available to the kidz with your brand on it as it relates to your highest end products as well is a "No Brainer' ... does not require much thought. Prepar3d is good business. Not to mention it actually is a professional certifiable simulator platform. is it that we are not having any more to discuss?
