  1. Maybe flying tubeliners isn't your thing. Try bush flying or GA flying as said above with some beautiful scenery. For me, I enjoy doing multiple sectors in a day and sticking to one aircraft and one airline. Currently I've stopped simming because I'll be going to a flight academy.

Very good, but waiting for someone to chime in with... Cigar! (There's got to be one?)

Meeee! Well, actually while I'm planning my flight. While waiting for the IRS to align, I complete the PERF INIT and retrieve weather and complete the takeoff briefing for FS2Crew. For startups I usually go with a custom long turnaround panel state. Feels a bit more realistic that way.

Normally I just reset shortly after touch down.

I actually quite enjoy taxiing to the gate and shutting down, finishing the shutdown checklist and telling the cabin crew to open up the doors. I get this sense of relief, especially after coming in through bad weather. After taking 10  minutes to rest, i continue with the next leg.
  3. I was just wondering, what are the downsides, and maybe glitches that would occur if I were to use custom panel states?

*Edit: Accidentally posted this in the General Forum when I meant to post this on to the NGX forum. If anyone could move this there that'd be great. Cheers!  ^_^

  4. My fav jet route would probably be KUL - HKT, KUL always being the airport I depart from and HKT being my favourite destination. Very little traffic movement makes for short taxi times, almost always good weather, with 10-20 knot winds thrown in there, but mostly coming head on, so not much of a crosswind, and the beautiful approach, especially during sunset approaching runway 27, with the sun right in front of you. Try out the A_A sceneries VTSP if you want, it really makes the airport more beautiful.

My second favourite route would probably KUL - DEL. 5-6 hours enroute time, fairly good taxi time 10-20 minutes, and a challenging approach with the low visibility and haze covering the airport.

  5. Don't read it and save yourself some popcorn

 I should, I'm on a diet too!

In all seriousness though it's a shame to see fellow flight simmers with the common love of flying high quality addon aircraft arguing with each other about little things.  -_-

Yes, I have been looking at PFPX. I am sure it is a valuable tool, but quite expensive. There's a few freebies out there that seem to do the job quite well, so I may stick with them for a little while longer.

SimBrief is kind of PFPX lite in my book. It doesn't have all you would want, but it gets the job done, and all for free.

  7. To the OP: Try setting your zoom level at something between 0.8 and 1. I use 0.82 and it's okay, 0.6 is too far back.

I do feel the 777 much higher than the 737. And the first times you land the aircraft, you can't really believe it when you touch down due to how far back and low the landing gear is with respect to the cockpit (did I touch down already? wow!). The 777 feels "big".

I use a zoom of around .85 these days, although it's kind of hard when you're flying on the equator and with every change of heading you have to readjust your head position.

  8. I've been using the Saitek yoke now for about a month and I must say it really adds to the experience. However, the yoke is not very smooth I noticed (especially when moving it back and forth, turning left and right goes fine). Anyone else experienced something similar with the Saitek yoke?

I've modified my yoke to resolve all those issues. Changed all the springs to rubber bands and such, and turned the yoke upside down, so I can have the yoke closer to my lap then at chest height. Just remember though, if you're gonna do those things your warranty will no longer be valid.
