  1. Hi, John.

I was very interested in your screenshots around PA and VA.  Could you do me a favor?  I would love to see some screenshots between CKZ (Pennridge) and RDG (Reading) in SE Penna.  I am on the verge of ordering XP11, and this could push me over the edge if it looks at all realistic.

    Thanks, and Happy Flying!

Ok, I will set up a flight, remember from my posts I am using a freeware addon for Xplane11 which adds more depth and density to the forests, as they should look in real life, from Simheaven.

I usually fly over photoscenery in Xplane11 that I have created but with the forests I am gobbling up a lot of air miles around the beautiful Appalachian Mountains where I have flown two light aircraft, one out of Pegasus Airfield in PA, a Luscombe, and the other a Eurofox out of Harrisburg.  I had to fly into Philly in Baltimore to fly with my two friends in those aircraft, my flight out of Pegasus near Stroudsburg was a dream because it was the only time I took off from a grass strip as pilot in command of a taildragger.

My friend had to land for me because the landing was tricky, over some 50 foot tall trees and he had to plant the Luscombe on the grass so it had enough runway to stop, he actually was able to stop halfway down the grass field, an excellent taildragger pilot a bit older than me.  I stayed in his log cabin home overnight, I was supposed to fly with him the day before and drive back with him to my hotel in Philly, but the weather was not cooperative for flying that night, we had to wait for a break in the weather in the morning.

But the break did not last long, I only flew his Luscombe thirty minutes, because a new set of thunderstorms were moving in on us, we saw embedded lightning in the clouds.  So we landed, went to breakfast, and he drove me back to Philly where I spent the night and flew home the next day, I went swimming when I got there to unwind.  That Luscombe flight was my last fixed wing flight, I moved to trikes after that and I have been a trike pilot since.
