The B1900 is certainly a good looking plane, but unfortunately it eats fps for breakfast, at least on my rig (i7 4.6oc, MSI GTX 970, 16GB) :-/ . I did a "same situation test" with the B1900 and the 777. I got around 55 fps in the 777, only 24-30 in the B1900. The strange thing is that switching to lower visual settings has no positive effect on my fps at all..Perhaps it is a driver problem (latest Nvidia drivers) or the Carenado plane is just way to fps-heavy?

You mean the old nvidia drivers? Yes, I uninstalled them and installed a fresh driver version. -

Hey guys. Well I bought my MSI GTX 970 last week and on Saturday I was able to install it, eagerly to see my fps climb dramatically.. ..well .. it didn´t happen :-( . Flying around the KBUR area I only get about 30 fps in Carenado Mooney, but with microstutters and freezes. Flying in the KBOS area with the B1900D is not possible = slideshow :-( . That is so strange.. I had a GTX 680 before and I really can´t see any improvement at all. My rig : i7 2600k oc 4.6, 16GB ram, MSI GTX 970,Win7 64, xplane 10.30, newest nvidia drivers. My settings are quite high, but certainly not maxed out. I tried disabling the pagefile and also set it to 1.5 x ram, but that didn´t have any effect. Does anybody have an idea what´s going wrong? Hi guys, I know this is not a new issue, but it is still not fixed. Modern 3rd party planes like the 320neo use SASL and it works fine, but not if you turn AI planes on :-( . They get stuck on ground, fly very funny circles in the sky or simply crash without warning :-( . Is there a workaround or what do the devs of the planes say to this? This bug is really annoying :-( . Best regards, Oli

This is getting a bit off-topic, but I´m wondering about Laminar´s business concept. Of course it´s great that we get free updates, but the dev. staff is working the whole year on the product without the company getting any new (or very little) new income from x-plane 10. Wouldn´t a kind of subscription model be a lot better for this kind of long-beta-product ? I know, everybody will shout out now "noooooooo!!! We don´t want to pay for updates!" and from a customer stanpoint I can understand that. But with monthly income Laminar could invest in more developers or external artists and get things done a lot quicker. I could also imagine fund raising a la kickstarter would also be successful, just look at this crazy success Robert has with his Starship Citizen :o . It´s totally insane what people are willing to pay for, i.e. 50$ for new spaceships..WFT?? Of course the group of buyers is smaller with a product like Xplane, but I still could image that people would "donate" an amount for a better product.

Awfully sorry ,guys. It has nothing to do with skymaxx! I had the older xsquarkbox plugin installed and that has problems with the gizmo from x-aviation. Just installed the new xsquarkbox plugin and everything works again :-)

You can also use photo sceneries to fill in the "green". I tried Miami and Las Vegas and they are great. Sure you can get some strange object placement errors, but the general effect and look is great in my opinion. Check out : http://simheaven.com/?page_id=8 -
I tried the Europe OSM & Autogen from Simheaven, but I´m a bit disappointed about the performance. I´ve got a i7, 2600k, oc 4,6Ghz, 8GB memory and GTX 680 graphics card and not maxed out the settings. Using the Europe OSM turned my simulator into a slide show, i.e. flying around Hamburg. Would more memory (16GB) help?
