  1. Just to share wit you. Today I uninstalled and then reinstalled FSX acceleration in "my documents" folder (not program files x 86 or program files). Then reinstalled PMDG 747X without any other addons. It is working on Windows 8!!!!. But I do not know how long this will continue. I will reinstall all other aircraft/scenery/utility addons one by one and try to see if my good luck continues or not
  2. Rickjh...it seems we have exactly the same problem. I also believe there are many more users who face the same problem. We keep on modifying our settings and files in the hope of getting a breakthrough. I spent the last 7 days doing the same ...unfortunately I have run out of ideas now. Calling all computer fads here in the forum for SOS. I really miss this ircraft!!! :-( Can a system restore or reinstallation likely to help?
  3. THERE MUST BE USERS ON THIS FORUM RUNNING WINDOWS 8/8.1. HAS ANYONE FACED THIS/SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE PMDG 747X? WILL APPRECIATE YOUR THOUGHTS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTION, IF ANY FOUND!!!! PLS SHARE:(
  4. The screen shot f te alert attached!! Any help appreciated.
  5. Need help from the forum badly!!!! I am facing isues with selection of PMDG 747X on the free flight page. I immediately get a message that is attached. I tried the suggestions at PMDG site with editing using notepad++ and also shared the dll.xml file wih PMDG support. They said everything is fine with the dll and they cannot help any further. They also said the problem is related to Windows 8 compatability. I also uninstalled all Feelthere/Wilco products and reinstalled PMDG many times without success. I also tried modifying the dll.xml file to previous states when 747x was working on my computer. I feel totally ###### off having spent the money but cannot use it. Can anyone suggest a way out? Regards Sam ********************************************************************************************************************************* PMDG Technical Support Desk To Me Jan 6 at 8:42 AM Samik, The issue is unfortunately not something we can correct. It has to do with the way Windows 8 handles these type of programs now and since FSX is now an unsupported Microsoft platform, i'm not expecting anything to be fixed with that. It is unfortunate that your products do not run on win8 and you have no solution to this either. I'm not sure if that kind of caution is spelt out on your ecommerce page. But the program ran just fine for many days before I noted the problem yesterday. Anyways I'll look thru the forum for any help. Do you intend to patch up the problem soon? Thanks Samik Sent from BlackBerry® on Airtel From: Product Support Sent: Sat, 04 Jan 2014 23:30:37 -0600 To: samik66@yahoo.com Subject: [2AD-1A5B1219-040D] dll.xml issue Samik, Your DLL file actually looks just fine but I see that you are running Windows 8 which is currently an unsupported Operating System for any of the PMDG products. There are a number of issues especially with user access and rights in Windows 8 that can cause that type of behavior but it isn't anything we can correct. There are a few users on our support forum who have gotten Windows 8 to work but it requires a bit of work. A search for Windows 8 our support forum should bring up some possibly helpful information. We officially can only recommend the use of Windows 7 X64 for an operating system. I tried to troubleshoot myself based on your support page guideline. I cannot find any problem with the file. Pls investigate and modify the file.Regards....
