  1. @dragonflightdesign *if missing*, dotNet FW 4.8 latest installer is installed by the setup. That runs mandatory and should be installed in any case.
  2. Calling all Vintage Aircraft Aviators! Today marks a major milestone for PILOT'S and the B314 Development Team! I'm extremely proud to announce the public release of our newest aircraft for Prepar3D v4 and v5, the quintessential flying boat, our Boeing B314 - The Clipper. I would like to thank all of you that have been eagerly awaiting the B314 for so very long for your unfaltering patience. To all of our loyal customers that took advantage of our internal release offer, thank you kindly for your invaluable feedback in these past weeks. The complexity of simulating the various B314 stations and making them manageable by one virtual pilot was no easy task. I think we have managed to find a great balance between simulation and workload, especially when it comes to accomplishing a complex exercise like starting the engines, which in the real B314 required at least three aviators working in close synchronicity. Please continue to keep your feedback flowing! We are also currently evaluating whether there is sufficient demand for having a B314 paint-kit made available, please let us know if this is of any interest to you. Keep flying and stay healthy in these very difficult times. Wishing you a great B314 experience, Stefan Schaefer
  3. As for the weather ships ... In the B314 product we have added those weatherships needed for routes the B314 was capable of flying. The B314 was not able to do a Pacific crossing. The B314A in the extention pack will be able and the package will come with those weatherships needed. We are in the process of finishing fixing the known issues and fingers crossed we will have an update within two weeks.
  4. Hi Urmel, I have to say that I’m very disappointed at your efforts to publicly shame our company! Informing us via email that our scenery contains several, in your own words, “No Go’s”, is most certainly the wrong approach. Do you honestly think that the tone and content of your message is conducive to anybody on my team wanting to respond you? I most certainly would not write to a developer with such harshness, our scenery is after all fully functional and has been very well received in the community, with our LEAM Almeria Airport scenery having won a Gold Award at Mutley’s Hangar, and our LEAL Alicante Airport scenery scoring 9.5 out of 10 at FS Elite! While we appreciate suggestions and general user feedback, there is a vast difference between asking for support and requesting certain features to actually demanding changes to satisfy a personal wish. We would like all of our customers to know that we do take support very seriously and of course do answer serious support calls. We also want you to know, that we are currently working on making a scenery configuration panel available. We also have some interesting new products in the pipeline, and our long awaited Boeing B314 Clipper is now in the final stages of development, it should be available shortly before or after the FS Expo in Orlando. If you are attending, we will have our own booth and look forward to seeing you there. Cheers, Stefan Schaefer PILOT'S GesmbH C.E.O.
  5. Thank you Ray for starting this topic! Reading the comments, I wonder if people recommending products actually have compared. 🙂 Because I think, if they have compared (and are not blind or otherwise biased!), they can not possibly recommend what they do recommend. Freemesh is a reasonably good replacement for the default mesh, if you do not care for great accuracy and data rework quality. Or if you want just something "for free". The saying "you get what you pay for" applies in mesh as it applies everywhere else in life. I stand here to prove ... Two examples out of many I can provide are below. The first is a high resolution area. Matterhorn. Real World FS Global Ultimate - Next Generation (with Switzerland Pro) Freemesh (with Switzerland Pro) The second is a "normal" resolution. The Rotenfels at the Nahe river in Germany. FS Global Ultimate - Next Generation Freemesh Even in this low resolution area you can see much more contour and higher detail in FS Global Ultimate - Next Generation.
  6. @AnkH The forum is not where we spread the news. We intended to in the first place, but found users prefer going to the website. So we stopped it. You noted that well and given the dates of the last official "news" posts one should realize that. Posting news has nothing to do with support and you can not hold that against us. As well as "Known issues". There are no "Known issues" since then, as all have been attended to. We run the forum mainly as a platform for users answering other users. It is not our first source of support. Our first source of support is published at the readme and the FSGRW manual. Quote readme: "If you run into troubles during installation, please contact support at 'bla bla @ bla bla dot com' and attach a detailed description of the problem that occured." Quote manual: "If you experience some trouble, please contact support at 'bla bla @ bla bla dot com' ..." Unfortunately I can not do anything if one does not stick to this rule. All important news are made available in due time at our website and at social media. For accessing our website you do not have to be member at facebook. Actually looking at the website always should be the first thing to do when running into an issue. In most cases the solution has already been made available. Of course there was no reply to *some* Qs about P3D V4, since everything already had been published and we had answered to the always same Q in several other threads already. The always repeated Q was "when will it come, when will it come". The answer "When it is ready. We do not know yet and will announce it". That must be sufficient and I can not answer that to every individual Q, if it has already been answered a hundred times. We can ask the users (and that actually is the forum for) to read the forum and find their answers. We announced that we would update to P3D V4. So that was clear from the start. But we must also say, there is no right to the user to have that done. FSGRW has a clear system requirements section and it is clearly defined for a certain set of sims. If a new sim enters, we may or may not update it. In most, if not all cases we will of course. We also want to use it in these sims! But it is solely at our discretion when and how we do that. And I do not accept any pressure on that point. And I am very sensitive to blackmail. "If you do not do that, I will do this." I can show you several emails like that. If someone can not wait, please do what you have to do. When it comes to updates, we always want to have them out as fast as possible, but on a reliable base. Better late than badly done.
  7. Hello! EMail support always works very quickly. Sometimes even within minutes. But we must be emailed first in order to be able to respond. So of course there is no "non existing support". To answer the Qs of @curt1: 1) We have not made any changes to how the wind is inserted and we do not experience these problems in any test nor do we have any other support calls in regards to such an issue. Are you sure you have no other weather program running or installed? Take note, that even though other weather programs are not running, their dlls may be present in the sims dll.xml file and as such loaded and interfering with FSGRW. For reliable use of FSGRW these dlls must be removed from dlll.xml. 2) I just tested and it took 28,53 seconds to download the current weather file. Internet speed may be different at different places. There are backbones involved which may be overloaded or it may have a zillion other reasons. Especially recent laws regarding net neutrality made it possible to have different qualities of speed in most cases depending on payment. I have no idea how that may affect download speeds. Our servers have a high bandwidth and logs show they are not overloaded. So I do not see, what we could change here. @AnkH: A product not ready can not be released. The announcement we were working on the update and would release once ready was clearly made available to the public at our website and via social media. May I ask on which occasion you did not get any support?
  8. Seems to be a landing at the wrong airport, sir ... ;-) Cheers!
  9. Hello! Is it normal, that a PayPal paid order takes more than 36h to process? I am waiting since yesterday morning for the download links. Yes, I have opened a ticket yesterday evening, but no answer so far. Any ideas? Thank you! Stefan Schaefer
  10. Well, only certain versions don't work. These mostly are used by persons, who can not provide an order number, when they ask for support. ;-) V 1.8 is in heavy work now and will provide some substantial internal changes and a new more modern GUI. All this will open the prospective for many external changes to come. It will also be the base for a boxed version. Our Servers from release of V1.8 will provide 8 instead of 4 hourly weather updates. Many ICAO updates will be done and more data sources will be implemented, expecially for remote areas. V1.8 will be a mandatory update for all users, as we will shut down the 1.7 servers soon after release as we will use them otherwise. This is work in progress and no complete listing ... Cheers!
  11. Just to update all following readers: The problem MRMISTER had, was sorted out on our support forum. Using the right version did the trick ... Since Zoho30 is silent, I assume, this "problem" was sorted out as well. Cheers and thank you!
  12. @Zoho30: You write (Oktober 30th), you posted at our Support Forum and still are wainting an answer. Can you please tell me under what Forum Name you were posting? I can not find an any relevant unanswered question. @mrmister: I have answered to your request in our Support Forum. Please email the appropriate file. Thank you!
  13. Some more clarifications about FS Global Real Weather: Today I received a message from PMDG. There is a chance, that due to some reason or other at least one message from them may not have reached us. The facts stated above were correct from my point of view at the time of writing. However, I do not hesitate to admit, that they may be seen not to be correct from another point of view. There was no intention to affront PMDG. What comes remains to be seen. Many controversies in the world could be avoided by placing oneself into the position of the other.
  14. Hello! I guess we have done that. There is a special hurricane awareness and depiction built in. Additionally we are supporting Local Weather Effects. The winter storms of the past months have rendered really great in FS Global Real Weather. Maybe they still can be grabbed using the "historic weather" function. More info on our website. You also can get a trial version from there. Cheers!
  15. Just some clarification on this. We at PILOT'S have contacted PMDG some estimated 6 months ago for supporting a weather radar for their 777 using our FS Global Real Weather. Unfortunately, despite several emails and using personal contacts we have not heard back and all emails remained unanswered. For our customers we are of course interested in supporting the 777 and upcoming PMDG aircraft, but it will not work w/o talking to us. :-)
  16. Hello! Weather Add-Ons: PILOT'S FS Global Real Weather is P3D V2.1 compatible since build 016 end of January. Pls amend master list. THX! Stefan Schaefer
  17. After setup you are asked for which sim you want to install (FSX/FS2004). Just disable both. This silences FSUIPC installation.
  18. @Rob: Just to let you know, I just released Build 017 which addresses your previous problem. After installation you can switch back on "Improve Stratus Overcast". Use the built in autoupdate function to get it.
  19. You can leave "low vis cloud layer" on. That definitely is not the problem. The two selections in the middle are irgnored in P3D regardles of the setting. They are default on and should be for best results in FSX/P3D V1.4.
  20. @Loge, I just tested your scenario. I am having a rock solid 30fps on a GTX 780 (no TI, no Titan no Black, just GTX 780). This increases to 33fps if I disable volumetric fog. So far the facts from here, now we need to define what you call "unflyable". I also had little impact on the visual when disabling VF. Personally I guess, most things depend on settings and it is very difficult to compare, if we have different standards. P3D V2.1 is just starting. I guess we can expect many more things to come in the future. @Rob, OK, THX. We are already aware of the fact, that under certain weather conditions a feature for better depiction of OVC (which works well in FSX and 1.4) "exaggerates" in 2.1. ;-) We will get it to behave shortly. For the time being, you can disable "Improve Stratus Overcast" in the settings menu at the "Visibility & Clouds" area.
  21. Hi Jeroen, you have to make a selection every time you start FSGRW. There is an autorun feature however, which will follow the choices you provide in the autostart parameters. At this stage it will download current weather. Up to now there was no such request to have an autostart parameter for historic weather. In my view this would only make sense, if one wants to fly with the same historic weather every time. Is this really the case? We may however consider a future feature, which will call for FS date and time and then load the nearest available historic weather. Needs to be thought about of course ....
  22. Hello Jeroen! When you start FSGRW you have to select, if you wish static or dynamic weather or load a saved weatherfile (which also will be static of course). After this selection you may choose current or historic weather. If you choose dynamic and then select a historic weather file, FSGRW will refresh using the following historic weather files. So you can make your historic flight with the full range of historic weather changes. I hope this clarifies. Cheers! Stefan Schaefer PILOT'S GesmbH C.E.O.
  23. Rob, This looks like a very low visibility layer. Do you know where exactly and using which weather file it was found? I will then look into it. Cheers! Stefan Schaefer PILOT'S GesmbH C.E.O
  24. Hello! When does this error happen? What are your exact steps, which seem to reproduce the problem? You have to have a correct and working PMDG 777 flightplan. That one needs to be loaded into FSGRW flightplanner. After that you can generate and save a windfile, which can be loaded into PMDG FMC. If the error persists, please email the flightplan and an exact description how the flightplan was generated to fsgrw@fly2pilots.com And BTW, did you realize we have a dedicated support forum at http://fsgrw.freeforums.org Cheers! Stefan Schaefer
