For those of you who own DCS products. Is this a stand alone product (simulator)? Or can this be played on FSX ?

My issue has been resolved. It was an issue with my FSX CFG settings that was causing the issue.

What are these files for ?

Well, never thought of this before. I've d always been heavily into modern airliners and/or military; but never thought and "old" aircraft would be as enjoyable to fly as well. Yesterday I got the Captain Sim 727 and the 737, and I am having so much fun with these aircraft. After all I am not into so much of "to the very last switch" on my add-ons, I'm more of a very high quality textures and high aircraft systems. I do mostly hand flying, especially my take-off and landings- that's where the fun is... Well, at least for me. I don't enjoy a bit letting my aircraft fly on auto for more than 1 1/2 hours. I love the challenge of taking off and landing. So most of my flights are less than an hour on the PMDG 777, AXE, and Iris F-15E. And now the Captain Sim 727 and 737- Love these brutes!

Change your graphics settings. Go to Nvidia's website and chose 3 versions lower than the current one they show.. which is not old. Nvidia has got into the habit of coming upo with a new version almost every 3 weeks now. Or so.

FSX Crash- Aircraft will not Load. Any ideas why my FSX will crash (Fatal Error) when trying to load this airplane?

Sim Freinds, I've got a problem. Three days ago my computer started running very slow. It used to be a champ and now just by doing simple things such as opening applications, makes the cursor show the "clocking" cursor. I have an Intel 7 2700K OC to 4.40Hhz. I've done defrag, virus scans, and Windows updates, and temp files clean-up. Could this mean my CPU is reaching the end of it's life? I have 8Gg of memory and my CPU is about 3 years old. Also, is there a program out there that you recommend to stop programs running in the background?

I did but wondering if installed looks good.

I was visiting Mcphat Studios Facebook page this morning and they're offering never-seen-before PMDG 737-800 liveries for anyone who makes a donation for cancer research. Has anyone here got those liveries? Are they as good as the first free ones?

They are both great products. I have only used EVGA for graphics card. The warranty and support they have is top notch- I mean the best of the best !

Hi Vic, how ya doin? Do you know if "Active Sky Next" will allow users to select pre-custom weather scenarios, say like Stormy Day, Clear Day, Snowy Day, etc, etc ?

Use one monitor, not 3 (FSX will not function acceptably if you push way beyond for what it was developed at that time). It is only so much it can do. Watch your monitor's resolution; try a notch less Do not max your FSX settings- Especially AI. Keep it around 60%, that's more than enough. Remember you are dealing with FSX and not even today's most powerful consumer- computer, will make it run @100%. You can also try a more powerful Video Card

But wait, there's more. What if one of these days PMDG decides to split and no more PMDG. Then lo and behold guess who rises as the new giant? Captain Sim. Ha, I see some smiles. (alright, just kidding).

And, to make it worst. I lost my download email confirmation with my order and serial number. Arrr. I have a feeling I will need to re-purchase my MD-11. But at near $70.00 ? Och, tough decision to make. But I really love this airplane.

Well, I am not an expert on the subject; but since I have experience this issue, I thought I would share a bit of what helped me. Would that be okkkk ?

Your computer is pretty solid; very much like mine. My experience with this is to: Do not OC your Video Card too high. A too high oc on the card WILL cause this. I stay around 800 Mhz- not higher! Nvidia Drivers: I just go with the most recent one on their website. The next thing that fix it for me (considering I have a pretty high end system like yours), was to simply go back to "Jezus-Bigote Altuve's" tweaking tool, and lo and behold, I used the suggested tweaked FSX CFG and my sim is as smooth as silk. This of course with using FSX setting set no higher than 80 %. (AI at around 50%) And, yes I first set my CFG with all good known suggested tweaks. I am flying with high-end aircraft within HD clouds, AI, and gorgeous textures. Now, keep in mind that there isn't any computer out there that will handle 100% maxed settings along with a high-end aircraft, and expect to have no hiccups. Nope, will not happen.

I was wondering if it is possible to use more than one CFG settings within FSX. Or better yet, how can I save-and switch between multiple CFG ? So, for a certain fligjht I want to use a specific CFG settings, and for another flight I want to use a set of CFG. Currently what I am doing is going into the FSX, delete the current one and copy and paste the other CFG I want; but this is a bit cumbersome to do over and over. My next question is: Is there a way to prevent the LOD settings from going back to default? Say, if I set it at 5.5, I want to keep it that way, but if I make a change within FSX, it goes back to default LOD.

Yes it fails. I tried something else. I deleted all within my FSX CFG, let FSX rebuild it and now I can see the panels just fine. But now I have another problem, several parts of all my aircraft (anyone I load) look all scattered, and a skeleton effect. I am starting to think this has to do with maybe display or graphics settings. I think I will need to contact PMDG and ask for help.

I don't think the aircraft would load twice. I just chose the aircraft I would like to fly and load it; but again all panels are completely dark.
