I had the same thing happen to me flying in fog into KATL on rwy 10. I tried to input the frequency manually and it wouldn't let me capture the ILS or anything. I'm like you Jason I always start cold and dark. So thats the trick for now? erase the frequency before I input a new route? Ryan Patch

Hey I had a similar problem if you're trying to use the default FSX ATC........If you load a cold dark cockpit you have to actually select the vhf comm to be able to hear and use the default atc. You have to push the round white button on the comm panel next to the CDU. I don't have it up and sorry I don't have the technical term. But its right below the VHF comm window and the black mic selection button. I HOPE THIS HELPS!!! Ryan Patch

Ok yeah that's not a bad idea.... I really thought this system would be able to FSX with traffic and reasonable scenery at 30fps.....I've used the suggestions and I can get around 20 right now but if I'm parked at the gate at KATL and go to spot view and turn the camera towards the terminals it bogs down to 16fps...I've toned back the Rex textures as well...I know Kostas guide advises against it but is direct x 10 still a no no?....what about if I buy FSX Deluxe? Mine is the basic with SP1 & 2 of course.

Thanks I will try Affinity mask and I did disable hyper threading...it's set at 4096 so ill switch that to 63. I know buffer pools are set to 0 and I've already added HIGHMEMFIX=1 and I'm not sure on wide screen aspect. Thanks you for the tips!

I've gone thru multiple guides and have my settings set to what everybody recommends. I do have the original FSX with SP1 and SP2 installed as well as the latest NVIDIA driver installed. I'm running NGX and REX OD as well as traffic 360 set right now at 34% My problem is with my systems I'm only getting around 12-16 fps sitting at the gate at KATL or KSFO, I realize these are busy places but I'm running the default scenery and figured with this system I'd be able to get 25-30 fps and figured with this system I could upgrade to some more detailed 3rd party airports and cities. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I read forums on all these people running way more stuff in FSX with systems not as powerful as this one and they're getting 25-30
