  1. Just thinking out loud here, P3D doesn't have to be an evolving product if you dont want to update.  When you buy a version you can choose to stay on that version and it wont change.  There are plenty of people still using P3D v2 so why not sell it as the same price as FSX version and give people the option to pay for an updated version if they update there sim?

The logistics of that would be complicated.  Also, FSLabs is a small team, that have made a significant investment into a product, and they're entitled to charge whatever they feel is fair for their product.

I'll be glad to pay the $140 once it's released for P3D as I will have plenty of flights I want to do on the A320.  If it's not fair for you (don't need the features, don't fly it enough, not worth the money to you), then you can always get the Aerosoft version, it's spoken of in very good terms.

  2.

I'm pretty sure that FSL will eventually be targeting the professional training market (real world A320 pilots and airlines)

Which is exactly what PMDG has been doing, and most probably Majestic too.  But guys, stop with the price.  It's not even like there's no alternative, the Aerosoft bus is not a bad product by any means, and it's very cheap when you catch a sale.  This isn't a Carenado or CS bird, this is a study sim.  The 777 bundle was over $130, the 737 I can't remember, the Q400 Pro was $80ish, I mean, that's the price.

  3. You know, $100 is less than I paid for my CPU cooler.  It's less than a tenth of what I paid for my coffee machine, because I can't go without a nice espresso in the morning.  I chose to spend on that, and I have used it every single day since.

Last year, we went to a Six Flags park, and with the parking, food and ticket, I paid around $180 - $90 for myself alone.  I absolutely enjoyed the day, and it was a worthwhile purchase.  I also paid over $130 for both variations of the 777 for P3D, and enjoyed much more than one day of use out of them.  Where I live, $100 is around 8 movies at the theatre, and that's non-3D versions and no popcorn.

Guys, gain some perspective.  The Aerosoft Airbus does a great job for a lot less money, feel free to buy that one instead.  Personally, I won't settle for an aircraft I deem incomplete - I want extreme realism, and that's worth paying over $100 for.  If it isn't to you, no one is twisting your arm.  Being respectful, however, shouldn't be something we need to ask for.  The guys at FSLabs seem to have done an incredible job, and many are excited to see for themselves.  If you have anything positive to say, why not keeping it to yourself?

  4. Even new PC games made from scratch, 50GB (gta 5 for example...) are not expansive as this addon. Who sets those price tags ?

Look up the price of the PMDG 777 (FSX & P3D).  Now look up "Aerowinx 747".

FSX:Steam was a resounding success, I heard, and increased tremendously the reach of FSX.  Looking at Steam (that is one sales channel), they sold to this day around 640,000 copies.  Few of these people will buy the FSLabs A320.

GTA V, on Steam (again, that's only one of many sales channels GTA V is sold on) sold around 4.95 million copies, all of which paid $60 for it.  So if, by an incredible (literally incredible, as in absolutely impossible) stretch every single owner of FSX:Steam would buy the Bus, FSLabs would still have made only 20% of the money Rockstar made (for real) with GTA V.

Let that sink in for a second.  Those guys do that because of passion, not to get rich.  If they were making so much money, guys like PMDG's Robert, Ryan and Kyle would be going around in Ferraris.  Take a second to appreciate the incredible amount of work put in the addons, the very fair prices we pay for them (look up Train Simulator), and if you're unhappy, you're absolutely free to play GTA V and not purchase the FSLabs Bus, PMDG aircraft, the Majestic Q400 Pro...  It's up to you.  Don't bash, though.

  5. I can't believe the amount of bashing on the price, and I now understand very well why PMDG forbids it in their sections.  I for one am actually glad it'll be $120+ for P3D, it means they feel it's superior to almost any add-on and can compete with the very best.  It also means they can keep working on their planes and bring more amazing aircraft.  One can expect the A319/321 quite fast as they are very similar, but how great would be a PMDG-level A330?

Keep at it guys, I'm sure we'll love it, and I wish you a resounding success with this project.

  6. Ok then, why is it that A2A can put out an outstanding product with Accusim for only 50 or 60 bucks? They put just as much work and time into development and even fly and collect details of the real aircraft they are modeling.

By the standards of complexity and detail, you'd be looking at a $500+ A320 in that case.

    Look up Aerowinx 747.

  7.

Instead, I'll just go out into the desert, and blast thru a $100+ worth of ammo. And it will be all gone. But I'll feel good about it!  And I'm not rich by any means.

And see?  I see absolutely no interest in that whatsoever, and I'd much rather spend it on this Bus.  We can all choose, that's great.

These people have no idea of the amount of work, that actually goes, or doesn't go into a project. And time IS money!

Absolutely.  Let's assume, for a moment, that Lefteris and his team are in fact four people.  I have no idea by the way, I'm making up the numbers.  They spent six years working on the Bus.  If they sell 15,000 copies of the Bus (an number incredibly low compared to big-names franchises like Call of Duty, which are bugged and don't work right and still sell for $60-70), they'll have made $1.5M.  Wow, big payout, isn't it?

Well, that would be $62,500/year each for the last six, on which they made zero sales of it.  Someone had to pay them on borrowed money, which is costly.  Then those numbers are taxed.  You account for the website, the customer support, the payment processing fees, the expenses, licensing, so on.  This is a niche project, more so than PMDG.  These guys are not getting rich by any means with that product.<

    People will keep talking.

  8. I'm pretty convinced the P3D version will be around $130, and I will wait for the reviews - but if it is a study sim as deep as the PMDG 777/737, I'll gladly pay that.  How much do you think the PMDG 747 v2 will cost?

It's all a matter of perspective.  Buying a $2500 DSLR camera is madness to some, cheap to others.  My $600 one serves me well, my pro photographer brother-in-law wouldn't take a picture of his cat with it.

But to be honest, $100-150 isn't much considering many of us have $2000+ PCs that are ridiculously powerful in standard gaming terms, and approach professional workstations, just to run P3D.

You vote with your wallet.  If this is as good as it's said, it'll be my pleasure to vote with mine.

  9. That said, the latest Release Candidate that our teams are flying now is looking very promising indeed.

Very disappointed that you kept your plans of releasing for FSX significantly before the entertainment version of the P3D product. Nowadays, many people (especially the more "hardcore" simmers that want more complexity than the Aerosoft product, so technically your public) can't justify putting money on FSX when basically everything is migrating to P3D.

It will still be a sure buy for me, I'm just not sure what you guys expect by releasing an FSX-only version significantly before P3D.

  10. So, I just updated to 3.3.5 from 3.1 (a bit overdue, isn't it?) to try out AS16, and some of the in-sim windows are missing, notably those from ASN/AS16 and GSX.  Many others are functional, such as FS2Crew, and the default ATC window.

I tried a complete redownload and reinstall with antivirus off, uninstalling and reinstalling both ASN and GSX, nothing seems to work.  ASN works as intended except for the weather requests.  GSX's settings all are functioning normally, but I can't open the request menu.

I tried searching both here and on the official P3D forum, with no joy.

    Anyone encountered this before?

  11. Max suggest a Seasonic PSU. They are single rail. I prefer multi-rail.

You make great points, and they're perfectly valid.  To me, there's no such thing as "too much RAM", but I'm doing much more than gaming on my system.  The H100i GTX/V2 (they're the same) was chosen for fitment concerns over the H110i, but having seen both I can recommend either easily.

As for the single vs multi rail debate, it's been shown multiple times that it doesn't make any difference in 99% of the cases.  The important point is to get a very good quality PSU, and on that, 80+ Platinum PSUs made by EVGA, Corsair and Seasonic won't have any problems powering whatever you throw at them.  To me, multiplying rails is multiplying failure points, but there's a whole different school of thought on the issue.

    I'd say personal preference.

  12. With a $3000 budget, I say hold on for the GTX1080.

Here is a near-exact copy of the system I built for myself a couple of months ago.  Even with the $699 GTX1080, you still have over $700 of headroom if you want to tune things up.  Owning that system, I can tell you, it will be as good as it gets.  The 1080 is what I'm getting as soon as it's out.

  13. Hi Tino.

I live in Halifax, NS and am wanting to pull the trigger on a very similar set up.  Price point is right where I'm looking also.

Have you got your rig built yet?  Let us know how you like it please.

    Best regards.

    David Bell

I built myself this system, which is very close:

    I kept my GTX970 that I will replace with a 1080 if it's what I'm looking for.

Runs very cool and stable at 4.5GHz, but I'll push to 4.8 at least (bought the Intel performance plan just for that).

It's an absolute beast of a system, it's perfect.
  14. TBH within $20 of your budget, this is what I'd do for a much more flexible and overclockable system.  Feel free to ask anything you'd like, my current build is very, very close to that.
