  1. The Carenado. I allready have a repaint of the F1. Thanks, RobB
  2. I am in need for a painter who wants to paint the PC12 for my virtual airline. We need more te be painted (Yet indecicive wether we take the TFDI B717 or Leonardo MD80, or ad the Carenado Saab340), but the PC12 is a good start. In a classic livery like this Flight 1 PC12. Thanks a head. RobB
  3. @Chock, If I knew I would not ask. 😉 I doubt between the Leonardo and TFDI. Or take both. I do not consider the Carenado on the same level. They lkook good and maybe the flightmodel is ok. I read on points that hte Carenado on several occasions that the PC12 and Saab are not bad at all. I am asking opinions and getting them. Thanks. Robb
  4. I am rethinking my lineup into: AS Twinotter Extended Majestic Q400 Leonardo MD80 OR AS Twinotter Extended Majestic Q400 TFDI B717 In both cases maybe adding the PC12. Or something else. Not sure if the B717 adds something to the MD80 or oposite. Thanks for the Saab.
  5. A2A I know. And Milviz too. But I was looking into some specific planes for a Virtual Airline. My VA now has a a garbage like fleet. To many. Well really that list. And I am looking into a list of max 5 planes. But then 3 props an 2 jets. And the choosen planes should be pretty much realistically. I am thinking about the Twinotter Extended, Majestics Q400 and the MaddogX from Leonardo. I doubt about the TFDI B717 quality and realistic. Eventually add the Carenado PC12. And it should be Prepar3d geared. And I would like to know if my view on the planes equals the general consensus. And wether the B717 is more realistic and have better flightmodel then the QW BAE or are they somewhat equal? QW has reduced the amount of buttons to push, but it still can be realistically. Thanks so far. RobB
  6. I am looking for the most realistic planes in FSX and Prepar3d V4. I have build my list, but I am not sure if I do have it wrong on some points. And would like to verify that. In short realistic and good quality from good to bad. Carenado is good looking, but the flightmodel and system depth are mediocre. Majestics Q400 MaddogX MD80 PMDG B737 FSLabs A320 Aerosoft Twinotter Extended TDFI B717 QW RJ/BAE series Aerosoft CRJ series Carenado C208 Carenado PC12 Carenado F50 Thanks for helping me on the ist. RobB
  7. Thanks guys, for all your inputs. Helped me quite good. I was initially looking for a freeware replacement of the C207 we are using in the VA. And was debating myself, wether the 207 was good, as it flew different then the 206. Eventhough the 207 is a lengthened 206. But we keep the 207 as payware and add the 206 as freeware.
  8. Thanks Bert, Maybe you are right. A different engine has different behaviour. In my mind is Carenado equal to default FSX planes, with very nice bling-bling. Maybe the Soloy is the same. If I take the Aerosoft Twinotter Extreme. Well that is nice bling-bling, good flight engine. Where default planes have flight-engine, but not so good. Maybe I am completely wrong. I have a bunch of Alabeo/Carenado bought (C177, C207/C208, C337, B200 and PC12). If I compare the Carenado PC12 to the Flight1 version, is the Carenado one the better looking, but is to my knowledge, the Flight one better in sound and flight engine. Greetings, RobB
  9. The A2A C182 is a very nice plane. I know that. I allready know, that I am going to order the A2a C182 as my 4 seater. Yet I was more looking into a comparison between the Flightport 206 and the Carenado/Alabeo 206/207. Nevertheless, thank you for looking into my question and giving a nice suggestion. RobB
  10. I am looking for a Cessna 206 which works in FSX and Prepar3d. Or a lookalike c206/c207. On one hand I found the Carenado 206 and the Alabeo 207. I have bought the latter. They look pretty good. Switches work. Yet I am not so sure of their realistic behaviour. On the otherhand is the freeware Flightport 206 Soloy Mk1. Which does not look shabby either. To be honest the Alabeo 207 looks a bit better. But I have the impression that the Flightport 206 flies a bit more realistic. Is it only the idea that I have that the Flightport flies better, or is it more realistic? I have searched a lot of forums. But could not find a hint in the right direction. Only message that most where happy about the plane. The fact that you really need some amount of throttle, while on approach, and a sudden drop of the nose if you take the throttle away gives me the idea that it is pretty much reallistically. The Alabeo, keeps level for a pretty long time. Thanks ahead, RobB
  11. We have a chat function in our Acars tool. And we have teamspeak. But both are seldom used. Best used is the chat.
  12. Explanation about black cloud of Windows 10. Not good running of yoke, goflight, trackir. But OK, it could be that the drivers have been updated. I never looked at it again. I read in the beginning that if you run FSX in full screen mode, that you can not use fscommander, ASN etc anymore. Because it would focus only at FSX. But maybe that is fixed too? Privacy. Everything is hanging on Cortana. Only made to collect data. For them and the security agencies. I have nothing to hide, but even then, it should not care anybody. Catching the badguys? Well... you do not catch bad guys. You only make the normal people feel uncomfortable. If you switch the privacy items on, Microsoft switches them off again. You can find software to prevent that data floats to Microsoft. I bought extra cpu power, so that I would have extra power for flightsimming. But the fact is, you bought extra cpu power in order to block stuff going out. The world upside down. Licence agreement, that Microsoft gets the owner of your documents. Pretty cheeky to me. Advertising. Would I pay for an OS, in order to receive Advertisements? Also very cheeky. Stupidity is that most people simply accept that companies steel your privacy, steel your data, and then even make those that are aware of this, to some kinds of outcasts, that you must be hiding something. And we all accept that, except a few. And if I read my story, I should be looking for a linux distro and change the sim to X-plane. ;-) Thanks for your insides.
  13. Still on FSX. ;-) 30-60 fps nearly maxed out except AI traffic. On a SandyBridge 2600K. So I am not that unhappy. Only looking to the future. And I see 1 black cloud named Windows 10. 6700 would be an option, I think. Since MS pulled back its decrete on not supporting Win 7, until med 2018. So the only safe option is an 4790K. And cheap, I saw.
  14. 1.5 years ago is in computer terms long. Yet I am maintaining a pc for an older simmer. And he thought, it would be smart to upgrade win7 to 10, 1.5 years ago. His AMD system showd 18-25 fps on low-mediocre settings on windows 7. And 12-15 on Windows 10. Cannot get it right. Jumping all over the place. Everything looks a weird menu (gigantic blocks. 3 and the TV is filled (yes he flies on a pc, else the letters are to small)). I really gave up on Windows 10, when I saw that. Clicking on the start button, means waiting, and then something opens on his second monitor/PC. I think I have to learn Linux for serious stuff after 2020. I think I can make it all work, if I would reinstall the pc. But that privacy thingy is bugging my mind. Thanks for the heads-up.
  15. No ryzen then. No KabyLake. Time to find a reasonable 4790K then. I expect to many driver issues with Windows 10. I can still remember the messages that I saw 1,5 year ago: No joysticks, a nogo for the Goflight stuff, weather programs not running. Next to the privacy issues, and advertising Microsoft started somewhere this week. II still have a few Windows 7.0 licences lying around in the seal. Broadwell-E an option? 6800-6900?
  16. You could have a look at www.citylink-va.com They do not have the biggest fleet or planes in the world, but stick to the choices made. Except for some options where you can earn double hours or fly in a different type of plane, is during the introduction. For the rest do they stick to what is setup. They like you to use ACARS, but you are allowed to fill in a pirep manually. According to the fleet, they would like to fly, what has been planned, but can imagine that you do not have the planned planes, due money or that you just invested in a different kind of plane. Ofcourse you will not be allowed a RJ to be flown on a Twinotter trip. But if you happen to have the B1900 instead of the Twinotter you are allowed. The main fleet consists of Twinotter, Fokker 50 (will be replaced by Q400) and Avrojet 70/85/100. A smaller Cessna C207 plane will be added for some interesting VFR flights.
  17. You read it correct. We are going to Beatles. Beatles refer to The Beatles. A very popular popgroup in the sixties and seventies. And they came from Liverpool. In fact is Citylink-va, going to Liverpool. And by that we mean, we are going to open a new hub in Liverpool. The grand opening of Liverpool will be executed with the RJ100. The plane that was just introduced in a couple of flights in the South of Spain. Malaga was the first point of starting our new strategy:”Connecting the dots”. In fact we are connecting our future hubs with the RJ100. Liverpool is our new hub, and following Malaga, in the project “Connecting the dots”. Liverpool connects to the following dots: (LEMG) Malaga (+/- 3 hours) (LFSB) Basel (+/- 1:45 hour) (ENBR) Bergen (+/- 1:45 hour) Look at this map: http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=lpl-agp%3B+lpl-bgo%3B+lpl-bsl%0D%0A&R=800nm%40lpl%0D%0A&PC=red&DU=mi&SG=320&SU=kts&RS=best&RC=navy The introduction of Liverpool is all month of february long and can be flown by any pilot. After the introduction, will we take the schedules to its normal rank. And you need to have the rank of Captain in order the mini jumbo. Want to know more about citylink-va? www.citylink-va.com
  18. Eelo, Please have a look citylink-va.com. They have a fleet that comes close. Not completely, but you can allways talk about it. They have a big load of Twinotter flights, and they start with adding the Cessna C207 to the fleet, for specific flights. Next to that do they have a PC12, And a Caravan can be used as replacement for the the Twinotter, C207 and PC12. Ok, they also have bigger planes, like the Fokker 50 (will be replaced with Q400) and Avrojets as their biggest. But if you want to remain flying smaller planes, you are allways allowed. The maincore is twinotter and Fokker. Next to that is this VA building on more hubs, as they do not have planned any really long distance flights. Also look at this post: http://www.avsim.com/topic/481117-citylink-va-news-03-jan-2015/ Greetings, RobB
  19. At first we at Citylink-va would like to express our best wishes to you for 2016. Good health and happiness. Secondly would w like to update you on what is going on in Citylink-va.com. Menu BAE J100 Our hubs Changing the fleet Schedules more realistic Roundup BAE RJ100 We are extending our fleet, by adding the RJ100 to it. We call it the connector. As it connects all of our hubs. Due to our structure and plane choice have we decided to introduce more hubs in Europe. Our fleet consists so far ofPC12, Twinotters and Fokker 50 for our passengerservice, and a couple of BAE 146-300 for our Cargo service. These planes limit a bit our range. And therefor we need a so called connector. We have choosen the Qualitywings BAE RJ for our fleet. And even though you could do Amsterdam to Malaga in 2,5 hours, did we choose the RJ. Which takes it up to 3 hours 15 minutes. Well yeahm that is our long distance flight. Our hubs Our hubs consist of Maastricht-Aachen Airport (EHBK), as our company headquarters, Rotterdam (EHRD) for serving the west of the Netherlands and Cologne (EDDK) as our main Cargo hub. In the future will we add: Liverpool (UK) Bergen (Norway) Basel-Mulhouse (Switzerland/France) Genoa (Norther Italy) Malaga (South of Spain) Bilbao (North of Spain as our Cargo hub) Changing the fleet Next to introducing the RJ100 are we going to change our fleet a bit. Until now have we been using the PAOB Fokker 50. With some additions is this plane a nice one, but it looks a bit dated. The staff of Citylink-va has expressed that they would like to change some planes in a more quality plane. We will slowly replace our Fokker 50 fleet by Majestics Q400. In time will we also add a smaller, bushflying plane tot he fleet. Despite the Aerosoft Twinotter is very capable bushplane on its own, but it sometimes feels like a whale or Jumbo Jet on a small airport. As we as staff also expressed that we wanted to offer more bushflying we also found out that smaller planes are better. Therefor have we choosen the Alabeo C207. This plane will connect the German wadden islands to Wilhelmshaven. And the Dutch wadden islands to Groningen. We are not sure if the Caravan will return, or a Kodiak will be added on other airstrips. Schedules more realistic We also have been looking at our schedules. Though some where historically a good trip (over 2 hours) as the only bigger plane we had was the Twinotter. But by now having a Fokker or Dash8, we came to the conclusion that it is better to do those trips on the bigger planes on some some bigger airports. In short we are becoming more realistic. One example is flying with the Twinotter from Maastricht and Rotterdam to Wilhelmshaven. Now we plan a Q400 from Maastricht to Bremen. From there a Twinotter flies to Wilhelmshaven, or Sylt. And from Wilhelmshavenf flies the C207 to the islands. Nice and easy VFR flights. For those who like that. Round up If you like to fly in western Europe and like STOL planes I guess we are the place to be. Visit us at www.citylink-va.com and see if a signup is something for you. That is it, for now. Keep the blue up and happy flying. RobB. President of Citylink-va.com
  20. A bit late, but, In case you are looking for a va, that has smaller birds like the Twinotter, Dash8 and Avro RJ, pay a visit at www.citylink-va.
  21. For your info, I have NL2000 installed at EHBK. Freeware. In FSX original is no ILS on runway 03/04 (depending on version). NL2000 has ILS on 111.55 (03 and 21) RobB
  22. I was until EH309 in NAV mode and switched to Loc at that point. Setting for 270, and slower turning northward. Intercepting ILS at EH302, while having ALT+HDG+APR switched on. Around EH302 the plane switched off HDG en started to turn to 033. At D3.8 the ALT switched off. RobB
  23. Will try it that way, and report my findings. Thank you. RobB
  24. I switched from GPS to NAV around EH302. And used the HDG button. But maybe, I should try to go the point you say, Stupidity is, that I think, that the ILS picks up at D5.8, but after closer inspection of the image I see D3.8 as the real entry point. You are correct. Thanks, will watch this. Still learning, after many years. It is a great hobby, and you can extend your knowledge day after day. ;-) Thanks. RobB
