3 installs is askin for a headache 😄 yes, clean your system out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you for a good clean install, where all disks are asked for, and all activation codes are asked for and excepted, and that you become airborne once again 😁

I assume you’re installing it into the default c/program files.? it might be worth a try to install into c/Fsx. Program files are protected by windows. You may have a read write issue or admin rights issue. Do you know if your pc user account has admin rights.? Or did you right click the installer and run as admin? Although this may not sort your problem out, it’s always best practice to install outside of program files. when you installed Fsx and got the default flight to work, when did the problem re-accrue - after closing Fsx and restarting or after a system reboot?

Yeh…not sure. 1 gremlin after another. if you google the file name there’s some tips to try. 1 tip is to right click the DEm4km.bgl file and open with Fsx. Or try repairing from the install discs although that hardly ever works. Copied from another post : If the file is missing or corrupt you can restore it from your install disks. It is located in MSGAME8.cab A cab file can be opened and files extracted with any good unzipping program. The file is located here in this path : C:\program files\microsoft games\microsoft flight simulator x\scenery\base\scenery I would suggest you to try a repair installation of the game. If you still have FSX installed, just put the disc in and do a repair option. It should install the missing file for you.

If Fsx hasn’t been registered you get 30 mins trial. restarting Fsx should prompt for your activation code. if not , you’ll need to check a file in your registry “Sky wolf” explains how here.

Just out of interest, reading from others with this problem, have you tried going to its location (Fsx) and running Fsx.exe, rather than trying to start Fsx with the desktop shortcut.? you may want to investigate this as you’ve uninstalled Fsx. I forgot a step. This is what I did. The last time I tried to install FSX, and getting the dreaded"Unhandled ExceptionError Number:0x80040702Description: Failed to load DLL: GameuxinstallHelperSetup will now terminate.",Out of frustration, I looked into Disc #2 and found the 'MSXML.MSI'. I clicked it and it ran the 'MSXML 4.0 SP2 Parser and Setup Wizard" (whatever that is)Then, I looked in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X" and found the "GameuxinstallHelper.dll"I had then copied, CTRL+INSERT, the DLL.Then went to the "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" and pasted that DLL to that location of which it was missing.I then ran the installer once again and this time FSX loaded completely, without any issues so far.I don't know what exactly was changed or why but, it seems to have fixed this issue.

Possibly down to not having a performance file for the aircraft your flying. It takes the info from the performance file like rate of climb and climb speed to work out your flight profile TOC. It takes the decent rate and speed to calculate your TOD. delete aircraft trial to get rid of black dotted lines. The trail can made to be longer or shorter and also change the colour in the settings.

Does your account have admin rights? (On your pc) where did you install the sim? Not the plane, but the actual sim. C:/program files/…..?

When your in the select aircraft page, unsure the little box is checked/ticked, to “ show all aircraft variations” or words to those effects. The second is showing as it’s the only variation of it.

My Logic is this: you have an empty 500ml glass, and you add liquid to it. This scenario means you have added from its former state. Therefore half full. yes it’s also half empty but we received the glass empty and have added to it so it can only be an increase . But if we received the glass with 500ml of liquid in it and take 250ml FROM it, it’s now half empty as the original state we received the glass, was FULL of liquid. …and I’m sticking with that ….😄

Hey mate, I don’t have a fix, but you should consider getting a controller of some kind. Even a cheap stick/throttle will massively improve your enjoyment.

I believe this is for msfs2020 only. Fsx does not have a community folder.

Hi Alex 🙂 I’m happy with it zooming to where the point of the mouse is. But thank you for the tip 👍

I didn’t make my point clear with the mouse wheel and maybe a useful tip for you, maybe not. If you use the wheel, it will zoom to were the mouse point is pointing. So it’s quicker to zoom into your desired point . I believe using the scale in the map window zooms into centre of screen rather than desired point.

I use mouse wheel to zoom in and out, why don’t you?

Also consider : Power supply. whether it'll fit in your current case.
