  1. How do I set the Transition Level and Transition Altitude in FS2Crew? When flying in other countries, their TA and TL may be something other than 10,000'  and 18,000' (respectively); wherein the standard barometric pressure is set to 29.92 at 18,000' in USA, for example. How do I get FS2Crew to recognize a level other than 10,000' and 18,000', or have I an "understanding" challenge? Set me straight.

  2. I have version 1.4 installed. Using the U.S. crew, I found when I asked the FA for food from the FA menu, when they return with the food after knocking on the door, the conversation distorts and goes silent. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time and consideration.

  3. To ALL of the PMDG staff, testers, artists, programmers, visionaries, etc.

    T H A N K   Y O U!

I truly wanted to say that. No complaints, no problems, no insults. Just a simple and full appreciation for what you do.

  4. I have been preparing myself for the winter month flights as snow, sleet and slush become more common place with WINTER officially here. However, I am not familiar with cold weather procedures. I have looked for this in writing, including the PDF files that come with the 777. I have not found what I am looking for. Wherein I have simple cataract-eyes, and someone can easily point me in the right direction, please be kind.

What are the simple, yet proper, cold-weather procedures? Thanks.

  5. In my first attempt to paint the NGX 900 WL, I have had success all around except with the first section windows. There seems to be a misalignment  of the windows. It there something I am missing? Everything seems to line up except the windows.

I know that the 800 paint is slightly shorter, therein it has to be taken into consideration when decals/words are used in section 1. But, what about the 900? Is that the case, as well? I would love to post a picture of what I am talking about, but I don't see how to do that on this forum.

  6. For those who can, I am able to see the "hidden" layer within the VC number file for painting the 777, but I cannot edit the layer because it has a LOCK. How do I UNLOCK the layer to edit it? I have looked within the program I use, Photoshop Elements 9, and I see no where to UNLOCK.

As a painting kit, why was this layer sent out locked if it was not intended to be edited? I see others can, why can't I? Any thoughts / guidance to my ignorance / ineptitude would be appreciated. But please, be kind. I am a novice painter.

More to the point, I am trying to change the VC number. When I edit it, I see 8 channels, and ONE, the "Alpha" stays the same, as though I didn't edit anything at all. I have read on other forums outside of Flight Sim that this channel can be edited through "Load Selection". It does load, but when what I thought I edited is saved, I still have that pesky N777L mask.

  7. I have tried that several times, probably more than 30 different ways to save and edit the file. When it saves, one channel, I suspect the Alpha channel does not change. A MASK is left unedited. I can see the edited text beneath, but the mask remains unchanged regardless how I edit or save. I cannot upload a picture file here to visually show what I am saying, so I am sure there are those out there reading this saying, "just type the text in... it changes automatically".... when for me, NO, it doesn't. If it did, I wouldn't be here with such a basic question trying to find out the answer.

I think it comes down to my version of Photoshop Elements 9. It functions for editing the other files, until it comes to alpha channels. I guess it just can't.

  8. I have downloaded the PMDG 737 NGX paint kit. ALL works great with my version of PS. Until I try to edit the file "PMDG_NGX_VC_N_NUMBER.PSD". My version of PS doesn't support the complexity of the file. Simply editing and saving doesn't change the file because ONE part is "unedited" at saving (a fact I cannot change unless I purchase a newer version of PS that does).

Would anyone be willing to edit the file for me and upload so I can download? I only need it once. I create my own aircraft. I use the same tail number on all of them. Anyone's help with this request is greatly appreciated.

  9. I figured out how to create my own. I cannot figure out how to edit the file for the VC ATC ID (PMDG_NGX_VC_N_Number.psd) - I see one of the 8 channels of the ALPHA channel I cannot change. I don't know why, or how to get it to change. I am using Photoshop Elements 9 with the Nvidia plugin for DDS. Any thoughts that could direct me?

  10. Curious... I just started using FPS Limiter, and though my stutters have improved, I really don't see an improvement in FPS.  Anyone out there still using this program can tell me if this is normal? I use a batch that loads the program.

    echo off

    cls

    cd c:\ASNext_FSX

    Start ASNext.exe

    Pause

    cd c:\Microsoft Flight Simulator x

    Start FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9.dll /f:25 /x:off /l:off

    "%pathc%"fsx.exe

    Pause

    Exit

  11. Good morning. Is it a possibility to add airline specific Safety Messages (video sound)?

For example, if I were flying Delta, American Airlines, or Virgin Atlantic, I would hear a Safety Message specific to the airline I was flying, instead of generic? Perhaps the airline code in the Aircraft.cfg could be read to specify a specific message playback?
