  1. Thanks Gerard, I will try them out.
  2. Well, I don't mind asking for support over at Aerosoft. I am just wondering why for some people this aircraft flies as it is supposed to fly and for others it doesn't. I am far from being a pro pilot but if the aircraft is on VS and ALTS, reaches the dialled in altitude and just continues to climb, or when VS is set at -500 fpm and the plane climbs at 1700 fpm, then I doubt that it's my fault.
  3. Funny to see how people seem to love this aircraft. I flew the tutorial flight tonight, step by step, even AS own setup doesn't work, can't hold ALT, can't follow VS, plane just flying anywhere. OK, 50 bucks for a few click spots and cockpit lighting. I write this off like a few virtual drinks.
  4. I guess everybody and then some bought the CRJ hoping for a complete aircraft, better than the FBW 320. For me, some knobs more to turn don't make a complete aircraft. But I remember that I had to wait years for their 318/319 for Prepar3D to become almost complete. I basically got it shortly before MSFS invited me to Alpha. Funny, sort of. I consider my 50 EUR for the CRJ currently as a donation for further development. Next time I'll sit in one I'll try to ask the pilot if this thing is really so hard to fly.
  5. If you want to change the shortcut to numpad, do you change this in the cameras.cfg or in the options menu?
  6. I now managed to achieve 1 ILS landing out of 20 attempts. I admit to not being a great pilot, but this is below what can be expected IMHO. I can't even get this plane to hold an altitude, climb or descend in VS. Either I am an word not allowed or the AP logic is failed.
  7. Looking great. Me thinks this is probably the best plane in MSFS together with the FBW 320.
  8. I like dogs and cats, must make me a great example of a human being, although many may object. Regarding the royal family, they may be disfunctional but I'd like to at least have something royal in my country.
  9. Good question. I believe the answer is no, you can't. There is one shaders directory for Prepar3D. Thus, if you want shaders to work with EA, you have to install those. If you want to switch back to no EA, then you need to install the appropriate shaders from Envshade. Please correct me should I be wrong.
  10. I managed to get this mostly resolved by changing the deadzone and the sensitivity for the respective axes. However, no way this bird captures a glideslope for me. I am constantly trying on the same LFBO approach, and in parallel with the FBW 320. While the latter doesn't make me a better pilot, it does exactly what it is supposed to do. The CRJ doesn't follow the glideslope at all.
  11. That's indeed the case. Just wondering why this is so different from sim to sim and plane to plane. Time to get something serious one day in terms of controls. But when I read how many issues people have with the honeycomb.....
  12. Anyone seeing the speed indicator on the PFD constantly moving up and down even if speed is constant, thruttle lever also shivering a bit all the time. Sorry, if it was already mentioned in this thread.
  13. Quick verdict, if anyone cares: Beautiful model, good sound, good performance. Hard to fly as everything is basically manual. I can't say if the real thing requires so much work to stay on track and climb or descend. Not a bad investment for sure, but will probably not become a favorite for me over the FBW 320.
  14. Anyone else having problems with it keeping altitude in ALT HOLD mode?
  15. Same here. But I'd rather buy directly than from the marketplace.
  16. Not necessarily as a result of looking at one sim or another. What I meant is that a story complements each picture even if the picture is already telling a story. Yes, if the depiction is good.
  17. Fully agree, as long as you enjoy it. I built many PC's, but nowadays the tiny screws and the fiddling have become less attractive for my eyes and hands. Yet, I am contemplating to upgrade one again. Issue with building is to get a GPU in these days. Sometimes a 3080 comes with a prebuilt system, which brings the price of the kit down. However, you never know all details of such a system.
  18. If you haven't messed around with CPU's and coolers in a while, I'd go with a prebuilt system. If you told us where you are geographically, many here can certainly recommend a vendor.
  19. Have fun with that project. I only hope that we get back to normality before you finish the last leg of that journey.
  20. I guess the first question is not easy to answer. Some may get a stronger appeal from a 3D scenery on a PC, others by pictures and stories. All three together can blend in nicely, depending on location, time, season and mood. Similar to movies, new CGI filled ones are graphically impressive yet often quite empty regarding the storyline. For reliving a visited place the highest accuracy of the sim plays an important role. So, at least for me, the better the similarity with the real world, the easier it can bring back certain memories.
  21. I can say that's pretty accurate for my card. With my 2070S I get exactly the fps mentioned both on my 4K monitor as well as on my 1440 one. For a smooth experience I must consequently scale down on 4K, but that's still looking good.
  22. Sorry if it was asked and done already, but did you try removing and reinstalling the full Prepar3D scenery package?
  23. I don't have that first purple entry. This looks to me as if it was from the Prepar3D v4 version of Vector where elevations were fixed with the configuration tool. Maybe a hint, that old elevation data is still in your installation.
