  1. It's an Acer S277HK on a MSI 980ti. Here are the settings, I'll try to post shots with these settings on and off later tonight.
  2. Maybe give it a try again. I'll post comparison screenshots later.
  3. NVIDIA 368.81, WIN 10. I also thought that it doesn't work. Didn't try it before because after changing to the 4K display my 970 card struggled anyway and it was better to keep the AA down. I am now running a 980ti and after seeing the nice new autogen I wanted it also to be nicely AA'd. However, with the XP settings for AA on high the frames over Manhattan are only between 12 and 15. So I tried NI again. I can't say what it does but the lines are smooth and the in-game setting is "none". SGSS is Sparse Grid Super Sampling.
  4. Sorry to disagree Rob, it works. What does not work is the anisotropic filtering. It may also be that the SGSS is not visibly influencing anything but the AA setting positively works. Try it yourself, set AA to none in the sim, then put it to 2/4/8 and see what it does.
  5. Tried something different, dialed AA off in the sim and put it to 8X and 8XSGSS in the inspector. I think I can't complain with about 23 fps over Manhattan at 4K then.
  6. Condolences to his friends and family. I visited his page a few times. Sorry to see that it seems to be taken off the net now. It would be a great legacy for Mr. Stoen.
  7. Great shots. Mitch, could you do some from Key West to Miami please?
  8. Pictures from the Florida keys with and without NC LA would be very much appreciated. It's an area I know a bit like California but for the latter I have NoCal and SoCal. I tried LC Europe before and unless the NA version is way better I wonder if it's really as accurate as described by some. For example, the Europe LC has so many blatant errors in Germany that I wouldn't call it accurate. Maybe it was easier to achieve such accuracy in a less densely populated area. Thanks to everyone who helps the undecided to make the choice.
  9. Thanks for the screenshots. LC really seems to improve things a lot. Here is the Ensenada area with Prepar3D/Global/UTX, second shot is Prepar3D with Global only and the last is how the real thing looks in Google Earth.
  10. Interesting, I have it running at 4.4 Ghz and I am far away from 30fps over Manhattan. Do you set LOD to very high and objects to extreme? And at what resolution?
  11. Once someone manages to get it I'd appreciate some screenshots from the Florida keys. Thanks in advance.
  12. Dumb question: Will I benefit from this if I have UTX USA? Where is the difference?
  13. I read this "I'm done" post right now and if there is anything in it which is offensive then I should rot in jail for my everyday language. Seriously, what's offensive there?
  14. Thanks for the explanation. Didn't see that flag before. Regarding the fine print, what many people forget is that it's just that, a fine print. Selling something with no warranties and refusing support for people who "violate" some random terms which have been made at full discretion of the manufacturer is walking on a fine line. The behavior of this particular manufacturer seems to become more and more erratic, the only reason I can imagine is that their sales are not as expected and they become nervous after the latest migration-gate. Even if you support their terms a simple warning to replace the avatar would have done the job. I'll think twice to buy again from them.
  15. Hear hear..... Dear Falcon 7X Pilot, A new version (v1.2) of your Falcon 7X is now up on your account. Falcon 7X version 1.2 includes the following fixes and improvements : . Corrected array going out of bounds causing CTD. . Found a problem in the process that was preventing flight plans from loading while airborne. . Changed code to make CDI needle visible . Corrected overlapping mouse rectangles on MDU 2 preventing Bleed Air synoptic from showing. . Corrected panel light switch on the overhead. . Overhead panel switch tooltip changed from “overheat” to “overhead”. . Updated Navigraph database (Aug 2016). . Renewed night lighting and added missing night textures. . Added emergency led lighting to passenger area (switchable from the emergency lighting switch in the overhead panel).
  16. Very helpful. I also learned it the hard way when I upgraded.
  17. Great shots and resonating comments. Thanks for this.
  18. Makes sense and as I said I am willing to give it another try. After all, we are not shy of shelling money are we? Not sure that I can agree on your first premise. A working GPS and map was always part of FSX/Prepar3D. And even more in XP where it's upgradeable with new data. But I do agree that it might be too much asked for a new player in the market. Still, I believe the next step should not be another scenery DLC but an aircraft update. At least to make me curious and my wallet ready.
  19. Mitch, that's interesting. So basically what you are saying is that I need to run a forced migration to see whether it works although ORBX says that you only have to do this if the earlier migration failed? I am happy to do that. If it fails I'll reinstall again. You get used to this with this platform, lol.
  20. Thank you for the heads up. This seems to point to the right direction. I agree that Aerofly deserves the benefit of the doubt and I seriously consider buying it again. My major concern is that they may be tempted to get stuck in an endless loop of visual DLC's. I'd say that starting off with so many aircraft and little systems was not the best strategy. But happy to see people move in and improve the aircraft.
  21. Understand that this makes a few things easier but I have a hard time understanding why someone wanted to use advanced aircraft without AP/NAV. Flying around just for the fun of doing it is fine and I am doing this quite often. Yet, the absence of reasonable systems was the reason why I returned Aerofly.
