  1. No runway lights in VR...

    Sorry if this has been brought up already but, Is anyone else not seeing runway/apron lighting in VR with 5.3? 

    I'm running Oculus Quest 2 with Orbx addons

    I'm on P3D 5.1 and Stock ATC.

    Before reading this I finally found the ATC window floating high above the cockpit glass (somewhere I never look in my go to 172). However in VR I'm unable to reposition the window in real time.
    I'll try your repositioning tip in hopes to bring it down.

    Yep I am..

    With a full re-install of 5.1 not using EA and I'm using ASCA, notice it mostly in overcast conditions.
    However I am finding 5.1 smoother with higher FPS then 4.5 🙂

    I really am liking MSFS 2020 but for one thing... In my ultra wide 5760x1080 3 monitor set up the lights are just too big.
    With FSX and P3D there's a .CFG work around to change the scaling of airport lights that helps greatly with this problem.

    Has anyone found a similar or any work around for this issue for MSFS 2020?

  5. I'm running AMD Eyefinity with 3 monitors as one ultra wide display 5760X1080 and cant seem to eliminate blurriness esp at night. (see attached).
    My main issue is runway lights and other runway details remain out of focus even just at/after touch down.

    Anyone else have this issue with ultra wide setups?

    Maybe someone does but I don't know what the default is because TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=6000 is a new line you need to add.

    As with any config tweak.. your mileage may vary.

    Give it try.. test it out and see if it's of any use to you.

    FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.1

    [TERRAIN]
    TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=6000 (FPS increase of 10-12)

  8. No menu issues for me... but:

    I've tracked my CTD's to  individual ORBX scenery files that has features like moving trees, moving grasses or extended foliage/object in general.
    Two examples are 2S1 Vashon Island Airport & 2W3 Swanson Airport
    I'm now painstakingly adding a scenery..  if a CTD happens as I fly an approach to that scenery I scale back the "extras" in that scenery via ORBX Central then test again.

    Bottom line for me... Orbx scenery loads and generally works with V5.... but not every scenery is completely compatible with V5.

    Yeah... to be honest Envshade comes well configured out of the box. So any tweaks to these controls will be subtle and at the taste of the individual user.  It'll take some trail and error to determine what works best for you. 

    Just start playing with it... or not 🙂

    Marcus,

    I spent some time playing with the settings yesterday.
    It not a fast process to generate the change in Envshade and then reload the P3D sharers.

    Most/best changes I came up with was:
    Cloud brightness day to 1.10
    Cloud Shadows to .80

    Just my .02 hope this helps.

    As Rogan stated you ask 100 P3D users this question and you'll get 110 possible different answers 🙂

    Here is what I suggest for a start and in no particular order:

    Orbx Global Base
    Orbx Global HD Trees
    Active Sky for P3D
    Active Sky Cloud Art
    Accu-Feel
    Eventex
    Envshade

    I too have other products I enjoy but if I were starting P3D today... I'd start with these products.

    I only found Prefetch, No Superfetch on my up to date version of Win 10.

    The good news after disabling Prefetch is the mico stutters are now gone.
    But as others noted the longer pauses (.5 to 3 seconds) still exist esp in highly complex Orbx environments. 

    It'll be interesting to see if TrueEarth for P3D addresses/corrects this.

    Thanks for the 1.05 upgrades to Seattle Airports and Seattle City... did take care of some of the issues I have seen. However I have a two additional issues for your consideration.

    1. Harvey Field did come back in 1.05 however details of Crest Field (S36) are still missing.
    2. Aircraft Taxi and Landing lights are not being reflected in the Seattle area airports.
