Extract MSFlight aircrafts to FSW?
KavindaJD replied to Heimi's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
You would need the Granny 3D SDK for that. Spoiler: It's pretty expensive. I don't even know if the process can be reverted but to go from .model to .max is a tough challenge on its own. Most likely, you will lose all the animation and bone bindings which would have to be redone. You could easily, however, get a static model of it for Ground AI. -
What we are witnessing here are the new third world problems. Please call to donate to a worthwhile cause.

Aerofly FS 2: Scenery Geoconvert Tool Coming Soon
KavindaJD replied to HiFlyer's topic in IPACS AeroFly FS2
IPACS are working on Autogen with OrbX. If you look at post number #84 by Jarrad here, they have been working on new vegetation with a completely new autogen system. In order to populate user created scenery, you would need a tool similar to that of the Autogen Annotator in the ESP SDK. That's for you to find out when the update is launched -

Make sure you hide the FPS counter. Just a heads up.

We've got two days before DTG release their update/ fixes so this is a good filler for now. -

Just been caught doing this - apparently I was trying to make out with my monitor. -
Awesome! Looking forward to it.

@DTG_Aimee: Hi Aimee, could you tell us (roughly) when the next update is planned for?
-
Thanks Bob. Pretty eye opening IMO. Starting to appreciate DTG a little more.

We are all allowed to share our opinions, and that's the beauty of this forum. Could we please keep it that way? If you're upset about what someone has said, then keep it to yourself and suck it up - there's no need to insult each other. It just makes it worse for everyone. Thank you.

The link for the Flight installer is still up. Look at my post (#2) on the link that eelis posted.
-
That's probably a good thing.

I don't know whether this Early Access malarkey will change anything. They did this with TSW and all the bugs were still present in the final release. We are seeing, more or less, the final result.

Surely the title of this thread should be: "Just 2 days away from the Pre-Historic Day!" Digging up the dinosaur that is FSX. Back when FSX ruled the planet.

@jjaycee1 If you look at the above image, you can see that Vector data deals with geographical features such as Shorelines, Rivers, Roads and Utilities. It is not responsible for the placement of buildings and autogen (this is actually handled by the .agn files). The Landclass system, however, just tells the engine where the ground textures need to be placed. Thus, you are correct - if the vector data was updated without altering the landclass, buildings will be placed incorrectly as there will be a mismatch between files. No matter which landclass you use, the buildings on the water will still remain since the vector data pinpoints the barrier between water and ground.

Why are you hating against Hello Kitty. What's she ever done to you? I'll have you know, I'm a massive fan and this WILL be the first repaint I make.

Its been over 10 years, but DTG SOMEHOW manages to take us right back to square 1. You lot really know how to work that simulator magic don't you?
-
Lol didn't catch that at all first time!
-
Huh - I don't see IPACS coconuts on there. Odd. Enjoying their coconuts are we?
-
I think DTG lied to us. They're using FlightGear as their base, not FSX.

Is Flight Sim World MS Flight arisen?
KavindaJD replied to jandjfrench's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
That's the same with me. It's a shame really, the guys over at DTG don't really have the technical/software engineering expertise, so they went through with the easier route - using FSX as their base. If Steve (stonelance) was on their team, they would have used MS Flight as their base! They probably gave out a free copy of FSW to existing Flight School users, because they were so confident that they'll make the money with their range of DLC!
