  1. Awesome! Thank you so much! I haven't scripted anything before, so will learn how. Nice to know you already added it by default though 🙂 thanks!
  2. Hi, I'm looking for some help in setting a binding for heading_bug_set that sets the heading bug to the current heading. Example, plane is flying on a 168deg heading. I want to set a button to automatically align the bug with heading 168deg. I've selected HEADING_BUG_SET as the key down event, but it defaults to 360deg. Is there a way to accomplish the above? Thank you! Marcus
  3. I'd love to have something similar to the Lionhart Lear from P3D
  4. I'm having this same issue. Dome lights are off. Emergency lights are armed and capped. I can push shift+L and lights turn on and off, but this ambient light remains. Any suggestions would be great! All lights on (Shift+L) All lights off (Dome light off, Emerg. lights armed and capped)
  5. The great thing about the upcoming patch and the ones after that is that performance will get better. I've seen it before with prior updates. The stuttering and low fps have not always been there. So, I know they can fix that. My recommendation would be to wait until there is a patch before you mess with other settings, unless you like the extra work 🙂
  6. My stutter issue was weirdly caused by my iCue software by Corsair. I end the task in task manager before each time I fly, and it has done away with the bad stuttering. I mean it happens occasionally, but nowhere near as bad as it was when iCue was running...like maybe once or twice during an hour flight.
  7. Follow my last post to get to the G1000 menu (Menu button on panel between seats). Select NAV1 Frequency. Input frequency. Select the transfer button (this is important as I sometimes forget). Then click on the PFD compass to open a side menu. Select NAV1 (becomes LOC1 when signal is recieved). Then select APPR on AP panel.
  8. For the King Air: In the lower panel between seats, there is a "Menu" button. This opens up the standard G1000 menus on the PFD. From there select the "Active Flight Plan" option. you can then input your route. For AP/NAV engagement, ensure the large gray switch below the AP/YD buttons is engaged. This will enable you to turn on the AP and YD. Click on the PFD to open up a side menu where you can select your CDI Source. Select FMS. Then select AP on, YD on, and then NAV.
  9. I setup mine as R and + for increase rate, and R and - for decrease rate. Like others have mentioned, I use the clock as a guide. Another tip/trick would be to press your decrease rate multiple times, as the slowest rate you can go to is .25 speed. Then press your increase rate twice from there to get to normal speed. You can also select the "Travel to" option from the drop down menu which will fast-forward you to that point of the flight in between load screens.
  10. I don't believe Torque and ITT are modeled correctly, so I'd just focus on torque. As you climb, the torque will begin to rise, so you want to constantly monitor your throttle and pull it back every 1,000 ft or so.
  11. You have to enable the Autopilot/Yaw Damper before you can engage it. There is a gray block-switch right below the AP button. Ensure that's engaged, then you can select AP on, YD on, and the desired AP function.
  12. If you're looking for winds on final, could you use the G1000 function to display windspeed and direction? At the bottom of the G1000 click "PFD", then "Wind", then there are 3 options Option 1 = head/tail and crosswind Option 2 = Wind speed and directional arrow Option 3 = Wind speed and directional degree
  13. This may be a dumb question, but where is the option to choose ATC offline? I'm in the middle of a flight and looked through all the menus...maybe it's on the home screen? Thanks!
  14. Best resource would be to go to Options>Controls. Hovering over each selection will give a brief description of what it does.
  15. Increase Heading Bug = Ctrl + Insert Decrease Heading Bug = Ctrl + Del
  16. I think Microsoft's goal is creating a true to life world that we can fly in, and that's their number one focus. This world, including flight dynamics, will improve over time. They've also said that they've created airplanes with systems that aren't study level (paraphrasing), but instead will rely on the developer community to create those. Again, I think they are focusing on the world and performance versus aircraft systems. No chance this will die off. This is a new era of flight sim, and it'll be at least a 10year project.
  17. There are checklists in the menu, and they highlight the exact button that needs to be actioned. One of the versions has a 172 with gauges, but it's not in the Standard version.
  18. Also, I played with another way to use the 2 buttons on the hat. One for all brakes, and one for the smart camera. On approach, pushing the smart camera will lock on to the end of the runway, so you can fly the pattern, and just push that button to see where you are. It'll lock the view when pushed, so as your airplane turns, your view moves with it.
  19. Essential, no, but I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, so there are trigger and thumb buttons on the hat. Makes it much easier to steer the planes while taxiing, and there isn't really another button that I just had to have that would replace them. I used them both a lot during the alpha/beta as many of the aircraft were sluggish on steering, and using left and right brake helped a lot. Haven't tried the release version yet to see if it's any different.
  20. I agree...looks like a good picture to me and what clouds look like in real life.
  21. I have a 12-button joystick. These are my essentials that I've used for years. Trim up Trim down Left brake (I don't have rudder pedals) Right brake Flap increase Flap Decrease Spoilers Landing Gear Reverse Thrust toggle Re-center view Change view ATC window
  22. The key map is definitely a big change. It took me a while to get used to it, but after getting used to it, I love all the new features. Change is hard, but it's worth it IMO.
  23. Have to buy the game, and the current beta is no longer active.
